Last night was the Todd Bentley show in Concord NC. Me, my brother-in-law and another guy from church went to try to share the truth and get people to do their research on Todd.
We had some signs that had scripture on them and we were asked by the arena manager and the Fresh Fire Ministry people to remove them. When we did not they called the police and I asked what specific law we were breaking and he did not know, but said he would find out. The arena is public property but when someone leases it they have certain rights. The cop finally stated that the arena charges a licensing fee for any signs and that since we did not pay we would be charged with larceny if we did not put them away. He also stated that they could not make us leave just put our signs up, so we put the signs up and came back to speak the truth with the crowd .
I would also like to say that the members of the fresh fire ministry came and stood in front of our signs while the police were checking on the laws trying to conceal the Word of God.
I want to keep this short because I want people to read. I want to thank all those that have posted their encounters with the law as it gave me boldness but wisdom in my dealings last night.
I was very dejected last night because we were being ridiculed by so many others that profess to be Christians for raising suspicion in the one they flocked to see. The arena filled up (5500 ) and the overflow filled up (1500?) and they turned people away and told them to go home.
There was only three of us and it was difficult to hear people actually applaud when the cops made us put our signs up and then again by the people that had been turned away that we had been preaching to as we walked to the truck to leave.
I wonder how many that were so quick to defend Todd defend Jesus daily when He comes under attack by this world today?
I asked the ones that were turned away because of no room if they would come back to the service the next night and they said no because Todd would not be there. I asked them who did they come to meet with Todd or Jesus. If Jesus is in the meeting He will be there regardless of who is preaching. People were confining Jesus to that building and only through Todd. That is what I was out there against.
One last thing there was a gentleman that had gotten there early and his heart was only 30 percent functioning. His wife asked if he could wait inside because he could not stand long. She was told to wait, so she did. Finally when he could take it no longer she went in and asked if someone could get Todd to come and pray for him or a member of his ministry and their reply was it was not time yet. There was a preacher inside that had come to see for himself what Todd was about and he was the only one that offered to pray for this man.
On the way back from putting our signs up we were approached in the parking lot by a young man and we had a chance to minister to him one on one and share the truth of the Word with him. While we were talking with him another guy walked up and was listening to my conversation with this other guy and he later said that he had come unsure of Todd and that because of what we had said made sense he did not go in. In fact he hung with us the rest on the night as we were preaching the truth. If this guy was the only reason for me being there I thank God for using me.
I know I said one last thing a minute ago but this time I mean it. There were members that came out and took our picture and when I tried to go inside the arena the door was slammed in my face and I was told that I was not allowed in. I asked the guy why and he said that his church was sponsoring this event and that he was not allowing me in. If he thought that I was wrong why would he not let me in to hear the truth. Do they pick and choose who they let come into their church?
This was worse than the rejection of the lost because you always expect some resistance but when you are standing against 6000 professing Christians trying to shed light on the one they are flocking to follow it really hurt.
