Does anyone know about this guy now claiming people have been raised from the dead at his church? Anyone hear this? Must be nice to have the magic powers.

He also says that God told him to drop-kick a pastor and to kick an old lady. He is a heretic.

I finally saw some clips of this guy and all I an saying is I would kind of like to see him pull this on someone a little closer to his own size, like me.
Like I said, it must be nice to be him. If I become a Christian do I get the magic powers too? It would be nice to go to the cemetery and start my own zombie army.

I never heard of this guy til I came to this board. The great thing is, hating Christians and all, a guy like Bentley can do mroe damage to the cause in one day than I could in ten years. Keep it up, Bentley. Amen!

Especially if it didn't really happen. Bentley and Jesus have something in common there.

The "if" is too big a gamble for most nonbelievers to accept Jesus as savior. To parapharse a short story by Flanerry O' Connell (spelling) I had to read in college, there is this hopelessly psychotic character called The Misfit who, at the end of the story, keeps repeatedly saying "It isn't fair. I should have been allowed to be there. Then I would have known" in regard to the resurrrection of Jesus. What you christians do not get is most of us, (I do not claim to speak for all, but think I speak for most) find the reasurrection to be unbelievable and nothing you say to us will change that. This is what you do not seen to get. Where you all can take that leap of faith and believe in the absurd, many of us cannot.
I doubt very sincerely Jesus had the power to raise someone from the grave, even if he existed and if this may be taken a step further I sure do not believe Bentley has the magic powers to do so.
Just how is this Bentley raising the dead. Are people wheeling embalmed bodies into him in coffins and sayign "Ok, do your stuff?" That woudl not quite work right if they jumped up as is and started living again. I note a horror film from the 1970s, Tales From the Crypt, in which a body is resurercted by magic wish, yet filled with embalming fluid and subsequent chemicals rather than blood, and thus the resurrected persobn is dancinf aroudn in great pain and the like. Creative. As absurd as the Bible perhaps, but food for thought. If he has claimed to bring back stiffs, are they dead and embalmed ir liek fresh on the slab? If he can get the fresh ones to jump up, why can't he get the longer dead and embalmed ones to rise, fix them up too and make akk things right? No one seems to be asking this among those who follow him.

Just a thought, why are you basing your views on eternity & the supernatural on what you see on tv? Comparing the Bible with tales from the crypt seems to incriminate your sources. There were people who were in Jesus' day who discredited the resurrection, being there wouldn't change your doubt, thoughts of absurdity, have to align it with what I've seen on tv worldview. Hope this helped.

Some of this was somewhat tongue in cheek, yet satire goes over the heads of many streetpreachers.
The bottom line is I do not believe in the resurrection and the only way I could or would believe it is if I could physically see it, sort of like the character in the one book. Thomas telling Jesus blessed are they who have nto seen and believed does not work for me.
Went back and fixed the typos too. This happens when I post too early in the day. I need new glasses.

Why not quote from books and film? After all, The Bible is the best work of fiction ever made. This is a better fairy tale than the ones they tell in grade school.

I have no power to change what you believe, only you do Dale. I do "get it"... believe me.
Of course something as miraculous as the resurrection seems unbelievable to many. That's why things like that are called MIRACLES! If it were everyday, natural occurances, there would be nothing special about it.
It is easy to characterize something as "absurd", but to say "many of us cannot...take that leap of faith" isn't true.
