Logic,
TThat is a good question! I do not want to dump a bunch of facts on you, so I will just state some principles, and if further edification is needed we can go there.
1) The Catholic Church is the "Beast power" of Daniel chapters 7, 8, 12 (the persecutor of Dan 12:7,11)
Daniel Chapt. 7 is not the Catholic church.
Revelation Chapter 13
Note: I reference this whole chapter to the third and fourth seal which is the black horse and the pale green horse with the rider being called death that hell follows. The rider here is the only one who is named of the four horsemen. Since there are two characters in this passage, they could be compared to the Anti-Christ and the false prophet.
Revelation 13:1 And the dragon stood on the sand of the sea. And I saw a beast coming up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and on his horns ten diadems, and on its heads names of blasphemy.
Ref.( Rev. 12:3, 17:3)
Note: The sand of the sea are Israel from Gen 22:17 These seven heads are seven mountains and ten horns are ten kings.
The sea represents the gentile world, so this beast is believed to come out of the nations as with the other beasts in the book of Daniel.
:2 And the beast which I saw was like a leopard, and its feet as of a bear, and its mouth as a lion's mouth. And the dragon gave its power to it, and its throne, and great authority.
Note: this beast will have all character traits of the three beasts in
Daniel 7:3-6Revelation 17:10 And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he comes, he must continue a short while.
1. Egypt (1600-1200 BC)
2. Assyria (900-600 BC)
3. Babylon (606-536 BC) which is the lion
Dan 7:44. Medo-Persia (536-330 BC) which is the bear
Dan 7:55. Greece (330-146 BC) which is the 4-Headed leopard Dan 7:6
6. Rome (200 BC-400 AD)
7. Rome.
Dan 7:7 the world will come back to the Roman type of Government.
Daniel Chapter 8Dan 8:20 The ram which you saw having two horns are the kings of Media and Persia.
Dan 8:21 And the male goat is the king of Greece: and the great horn that is between his eyes is the first king.
This next part is not the Catholic Church, but a Govermental system:
Dan 8:22 As for that horn being broken, and the four that stood up in its place, four kingdoms shall stand up out of that nation, but not with its power.
Dan 8:23 And in the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors have come to their fullness, a king of bold countenance, and understanding riddles, shall stand up.
Dan 8:24 And his power shall be mighty, but not by his own power: and he shall destroy awesomely, and shall prosper, and thrive, and shall destroy the mighty and the holy people.
Dan 8:25 And through his cunning also he shall cause deceit to prosper under his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and without warning shall destroy many: he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken, by no human hand.
Daniel Chapter 9Dan. 9:25
Know then, and understand. This is a command to "know and understand"
that from the going forth of the commandment or the issuing of the decree; the next part tells us which decree or commandment.
to restore and to build Jerusalem (Ref Neh. 2:1-8.) Daniel is told that a decree to restore which had been broken down by Nebuchadnezzar and his army. There is some debate over which decree it was and its exact date. The decree, generally accepted, is that of Artaxerxes, issued approximately 445 B.C. when Jerusalem was to be restored.
unto the Messiah the Prince or until the Anointed One, or
the ruler, which is Jesus
shall be seven weeks or 49 years,
threescore and two weeks or sixty-two or 62 x 7 years which is 434 years:
the street shall be built again which is in Jerusalem
and the wall which is of Jerusalem shall also be built again Ref. Neh. 2:17-18; 6:15-19,
even in troublous times or in times of trouble Ref. Neh. 4:-6:14.
This gives a total of 483 years, leaving one week or one period of 7 years left.
The seventy weeks are divided into three parts.
(1) Seven weeks or 49 years. This may also have covered the rebuilding in troublous times.
(2) Sixty-two weeks or 434 years. This covered from the end of the 49 years to, perhaps, the triumphal entry of Jesus into Jerusalem before His crucifixion. These weeks are all fulfilled.
(3) One week or 7 years remain. This is the Tribulation, which is still to come as of the writing
of this book.
Thus, 49 years + 434 years gives us a total of 483 years. This leaves one week or one period of 7 years to fulfill the total of 490 years.
Dan. 9:26
And after the sixty-two weeks which is 434 years (note: the 434 years, plus the 49 years, equals a total of 483 years total),
shall Messiah which is Jesus Christ or the Anointed One will
be cut off or killed or Isa 53:8 for he was cut off out of the land of the living. Jesus Christ was crucified
but not for himself He did not die for Himself, Jesus never sinned. He died for those who should trust on Him as their Lord and Savior.
and the people, The European Union, which are the people of the Roman Empire, the fourth beast, the people
of the prince or ruler of that land
that shall come The prince that shall come is referring to the Antichrist that would come in the future.
shall destroy the city which is Jerusalem
and the sanctuary or temple
and the end thereof shall be with a flood, which can indicate with great force or mightily,
and unto the end of the war desolations are determined. 2 Thes. 2:4.
Dan. 9:27
And he The Antichrist, which shall come from the people that destroyed Jerusalem and the temple, in approximately 70 A.D.-the Roman Empire,
shall confirm the covenant, or "make strong," an existing agreement for seven years -- not make a new one. Or agree to treaty agreement, or peace accord
with many Israel and others.
for one week: or one 'seven,' or for seven years. The confirming or signing of this covenant might be the beginning of the last remaining seven years, what we call the Tribulation.
and in the midst of the week or after the thousand two hundred and sixty days or three and one-half years or 42 months from the end of the midst of the 7 year Tribulation. This is showing that there are two parts to the Tribulation, separated by this event or by the seventh seal which we read about the silence in heaven for about ½ hour. The last 42 months of the Tribulation is also called the "Great Tribulation," Gods' wrath.
He The anti-Christ
shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, which take place in the temple. This shows that the sacrifice and oblation will restart in Jerusalem as in olden times during the first part of the Tribulation. By this and other Scriptures Rev. 11: 1, we also note that a temple will have to be rebuilt in Jerusalem for the sacrifice and oblation during the first part of the Tribulation.
At the approximate time of the midst of the Tribulation. The Antichrist Who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sits in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.
Dan 12:11 And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that makes desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days.
I don't know where this extra 30 days comes from yet.
2 Thes 2:4. Who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sits in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.
This will have the Antichrist stop the sacrifices and oblations because he will say that there is no need for it then.
and for the extremity of abominations or because of the least of the abominations being placed in the temple
He the Antichrist
shall make it desolate This is referred to as the "abomination of desolation," in Mt 24:15. The temple is defiled. Some kind of abomination is set up on a wing of the temple, maybe the image that he sets up. People will be required to worship him or it or be put to death-ref Rev 13:14,15.
even until the consummation The end
and that which is determined shall be poured upon the desolate.on the Antichrist or the temple that was made desolate is included in "that which is determined.”
Rev 13:1 And he/it stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.
Daniel 7:3 And four great beasts came up from the seaRev 13:1 And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the seaNotice the simularity?
Since this beast is like the ones in Daniel, it is most likely to be a Kingdom/Governmental system & not a "man".
Rev 13:3 And I saw one of his heads as if it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world marveled after the beast. This is a politicial wound.
As the Roman Empire was thought to be dead, it is to revive in the last days.
More like Roman or Muslem power.
Rev 13:14 And it deceives those dwelling on the earth, because of the signs which were given to it to do before the beast, saying to those dwelling on the earth to make an image to the beast who has the wound of the sword, and lived.A better way of interpreting this is that the mouthpeace of the "Governmental system is telling the world to ordain a representitive(make an image) to the "Beast"
The end times will comprise of political powers not a military or religious entity and their power is not in might or religion, but in commerce, money.
The whore in Revelation 17 is Unrepentent Israel, not the Catholic Church.
God is dealing with Israel, not Rome. Rome is not married to any one, but Israel is(was) married to God. After the Church and true Israel is raptured, all that is left is the whore which is unrepentant Israel. I believe as the church is grafted into the Olive tree and Israel is grafted back in , the world is grafted in to the same tree as the whore. Therefore all that is left after God takes for His own, He punishes with His wrath.
Rev 17 :3 So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet colored beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.(Ref. Rev 12:3, Rev 13:1)
Where do you se the last reference of the wilderness?
In Rev Chapt. 12.
While Israel was being fed by the nations in Rev 12:6 & 14, they started to play the Harlot as they frequently do. They are still playing the Harlot today.
John was carried away in the spirit
into the wilderness to see Israel being the Harlot.
