I once liked John Edwards. We even went to see him at a campaign rally in 2004. No more. The news if his affair, especially with his wife having terminal cancer, repulses me. I have always basically despised weakness in people and an extra maeirial affair is the one thing I find unpardonable. I love the way he calls this "a mistake"
No, my friends (to use a McCain cliche). This is not a mistake. A mistake is typing the wrong letters on a message board post. A mistake is leaving a pizza in the oven too long. A mistake is getting diet cola instead if regular when you are shopping. This is NOT a mistake.
What ever happend to some good old fashioned will power? Whatever happened to sticking to one wife and ione husband?
A man who cheats on gis wife will cheat onh is coutnry, which is why Io feel politicans of this ilk have no business holding office. That ioncludes Edwards, that includes Clinton AND that includes your boy McCain (ask him about his first wife and why they broke uprather than his "war hero" years)
Edwards repulses me right now. Whatever happened to public figures gaving some standards!

Affairs used to be a death knell for politicians. A long time ago, a divorced man, let alone, one having affairs, had no chance of ever being President as the logic was, a man whi cannot keep his family together could never keep the country together. Affairs were the kiss of death. Now they are commonplace.
Affairs are something I have no tolerance for or understanding of. I just flat don't believe in it. As for those saying a politician's personal life is no one's business or how they are only human does not cut it either as a high profile person fofeits his private life. That's the price of admission. If a man's personal life effects his profession , it is indeed the business of the voters, as something of this degree would. Likewise, people in leadership roles are not entitled to be "only human", but to show an uncommon degree of moral value and honesty.

I must have been tired when I typed the messages before. I went and fixed the mistakes. Now the messages are more clear.
