Does anyone else get really mad about groups trying to ban books. Seriously if most people that tried to ban books succeeded do you have any idea how stupid the U.S. would be? In my opinion we would be another form of Nazi Germany if the banning of books were to actually happen. It is ridiculous and still takes place today. One of the top banned books today is Harry Potter. The stupid thing about that book being banned is that most christian groups that ban it do so because they think their kids can actually become warlocks and witches just by reading it. A librarian at my college's library told me about how some guy came up to her and gave her a book he wanted banned. They actually have this whole process they have to go through to actually ban a book. It is a sheet they have to fill out. She asked him what he found offensive about it. He said that HE DIDN'T EVEN READ IT. What he didn't like about it was the guy that wrote it was homosexual and it was a biography of all that man's accomplishments. The guy simply said like an ignorant no thinking person would say "No gay person ever accomplished nothing"

Then the Bible should be banned as it includes murder, rape,. incest, torture and more bloody killings than Dario Argento could dream up on his best day of filming.

Weird how none of the practicing street preachers have come into this thread. I figured this would be an interesting subject to them because I know a lot of christians that think it is great to ban books but I also know a lot who are very against it.

Books scare the, unless it's the Word of God (notice how it's singular word, instead of plural ... wonder what subtext can be read from that).
