Today was the first day of classes this semester at FAU. We arrived around 11:00am, and I immediately hoisted my banner and lifted up my voice, preaching the cross of Christ. It seemed a bit difficult to gather a crowd, but I eventually had a small group of listeners. It has occurred to me lately that most of the kids want to be entertained, but the Holy Ghost has made it clear to us to simply “preach the gospel.”
Evangelista then took over for about 30 minutes, and the crowd eventually dwindled. As I began to preach again, things seemed to get stirred up a bit. I was able to gather a medium-sized crowd with students asking more questions. Some were sincere, and others were obviously not. I was also able to talk with a student friend of ours that we have talked with occasionally for about a year, as we sort of have an ongoing debate concerning the age of the earth, among other things.
After a lively exchange with a young man, someone actually called the campus police. A few officers showed up, but they stayed for only a few minutes. One Christian girl couldn’t believe how bold we were and was simply amazed. She was greatly encouraged. Another Christian girl also approached Evangelista, saying how encouraged she was, and that we had stirred her faith. I guess we were kind of a breath of fresh air for them.
As we left, an older gentleman followed us to our truck. He seemed concerned about his backslidden state, as he was very convicted by the preaching. He shared a short testimony of his current situation, and I confronted him about living in sin. He admitted to being involved with internet porn and masturbation. I exhorted him to make the choice to immediately stop, and to rely on Christ to live free from this bondage. We prayed for him, and as he expressed his gratitude, we left for our trailer at about 5:00pm.

We arrived at FAU around 11:00 am today. As I began to preach, a small crowd gathered, and I held the attention of the students for quite some time. I preached on various topics including sin, holiness, and the age of the earth, among others, for about an hour. Evangelista then began to preach and answer questions. The students pretty much stayed there and just listened to the word go forth. After about 45 minutes she gave the crowd back to me, and eventually it dwindled.
We saw a student we met last semester that was encouraged by the preaching and talked with her. She was glad that we were back preaching again. We also met up with a student/preacher who attends this college. I called on him to preach, and he poured out his heart for about 15 minutes. He did a great job, and I am encouraged to see this young seeking the will of God, as well as doing it. Another young man who is serving the Lord on this campus approached us and introduced himself. He was very polite.
We left at 4:00 pm with the student preacher accompanying us back to our truck. After we said our goodbyes, we drove down to Miami to attend to some personal matters, and then back up to Lake Worth by the end of the evening.

Today the free speech area was booked for another event, so Evangelista and I rented a vehicle for a day and drove over to Tampa to take care of some personal business. We then drove back to our trailer in Lake Worth by dinner time, and then attended the mid-week service at the church where we were lodging.
Traveling in a large truck that runs on diesel fuel can get very expensive. As we are sometimes traveling between towns for 1 or 2 days at a time, it is much more economical to rent a car for $15-$20 a day, and then pay for the cheaper unleaded fuel. We would pay just as much, or more, by driving our truck (minus the trailer, of course, on a day-trip) and so we actually save money and mileage on the truck as well.

Because we were a bit tired from all of the extra driving the day before, we didn’t reach the campus until around 12:30 pm today. Evangelista actually began preaching closer to 1:00 pm. After 30 minutes I took over, and had a few interesting discussions. One of the recurring topics is, undoubtedly, sin in the life of a believer. I am amazed at how vehemently people will defend sin, and then actually call you a heretic for proclaiming biblical truth and liberty from sin.
I had some of the same students from the other day, and the young lady from Tuesday afternoon, with her sister, was also there. They had questions about original sin, which I answered biblically. I proclaimed to them the freedom from bondage which Christ died for, providing us all with His power to live free (John 8). I preached for about two hours then handed the crowd back to Evangelista. She preached Jesus, repentance, living biblically obedient, and faith in Him.
As she shared from her heart, I had a chance to discuss some deeper questions with our young friend from Monday again concerning the age of the earth, evolution, and other scientific topics. The interesting thing about this young man is that he is definitely seeking the truth, and is appalled at the lifestyles of his fellow students. Our prayer is that God will speak to him, even as He spoke to me 12 years ago, and changed my heart forever!
As I began to preach again, I had small groups sitting on the benches, and some kids from previous days came back to listen and ask questions. One student in particular was very defiant and seemed determined to prove me wrong. I answered all of his questions, but he refused to acknowledge the Bible as the final authority.
We left the small crowd in the hands of our student/preacher friend, and then drove back to our lodgings at about 5PM.

Today was a very slow day, as usual, for a Friday. We arrived at about 11:30 and took turns preaching to the small groups of listeners. I had to answer the usual questions: Why are you judging? Are you free from sin? Why am I going to hell? Etc., etc., ad nauseum.
The most productive time of this day was actually sitting down with the young scientist friend of ours and sharing some of my testimony with him. He was very gracious to buy us lunch, and we talked for an hour or so about other various topics as well. We agreed to try and meet on Saturday morning for brunch with him and our student/preacher friend, and then said our goodbyes.
As we left the campus around 4:00 pm, we prayed for the Lord to have His way in the lives of the students, and that their hearts would be convicted of sin, righteousness, and judgment to come. It was a very productive week for the Kingdom of God.
PLEASE PRAY FOR US AS WE PREACH ON CAMPUSES EACH DAY THIS SEMESTER. WE ARE MAKING AN IMPACT ON THIS GENERATION!
