I just wanted to take a minute to let you all know how much I appreciate the good discussions we have here. I was looking at some of the oldest posts in the Doctrine and Theology section and I noticed I've been at this with you all for nearly 3 years. In that time I have studied Scripture deeper than ever before. Much of that study has been initiated by these discussions. If your congregations are anything like mine it's very difficult to find people who are even interested in studying theology. Unfortunately, there's a serious laziness in the Christian world of America when it comes to digging in to God's Word. I'm very thankful to God for the opportunity to interact with others here who are not content with just a shallow search of the Scriptures. Even though we don't always agree I've found that these discussions always lead me back to the Word to seek greater understanding. God Bless you all!
In Christ's love,
Steve

Amen. I agree with both posts. I haven't been on the boards much since I've been spending my time studying Spanish, but maybe I'll find time to be more active as time goes on.

I was thinking about trying to learn Spanish after I had gotten Greek down pretty well. Spanish is a breeze compared to Greek! Trust me! You will have no problem understanding Spanish grammar if you can understand Greek grammar. There are also a lot more resources out there to learn Spanish than there is Greek. For one, Spanish is actually spoken while Koine Greek is only spoken by a very very select few of people who do it just because they like it. I know of a man, Randall Buth, who hold Greek classes that are nearly like a modern language class. He has some great teaching methods as far as I have seen. He's pretty well respected in certain circles. www.biblicalulpan.com/His Greek pronunciation is similar to modern Greek but a few differences. It's interesting how they try to find out how they pronounced it back then... I don't know how "nerdy" you have got with Greek and linguistics but here is some good information from my Greek professor on the topic. www.biblicalgreek.org/links/pronunciation.phpI haven't been using my Greek much... so I'm losing it. I've got all the materials here to study, but I think right now the Lord has me focusing on Spanish. Dios te bendiga , ερρωσο, Josh
