I'm close to being convinced that the doctrine of Original Sin is false, but I have a few verses that I'm having trouble reconciling that I haven't heard brought up yet. They've always troubled me, but now they seem especially pertinent to address considering this doctrine of...what would you call it...Original Innocence ? Well here are two verses that come to mind at the moment. 1Sa 15:2-3 Thus saith the LORD of hosts, I remember that which Amalek did to Israel, how he laid wait for him in the way, when he came up from Egypt. Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and behind. 1Cr 7:14 For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband: else were your children unclean; but now are they holy. Forgive me if this has been something you guys have addressed already. I'm a little late catching on.

Original Sin did happen but how it effects us is the larger question. What is the original sin. Are children born with sin. Is it a justifiable excuse to sin when you are born with sin. Many believe that people are not born with sin nor can use this for a excuse. Most churches teach that we are born in sin and will always have it till death sets us free from the flesh the world and the devil. I believe that the born again by faith in Jesus Christ will be set free from sin starting in this life time. I believe that we are born with a bent towards evil or sin (nature). If the parents ( and community)are wicked then the children will probably follow in the same path. Good parents sanctified children through training.

Michelle, I pray that our answers on the show were helpful, if not please feel free to post/email again. Keep seeking the Holy Spirit to teach you, He will be found. 1 John 2:27
But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will abide in Him.
God bless you.

Thank you very much for addressing my questions on the show, Pastor John. (You remind me of a benevolent father type or pastor anyway!) And thank you especially for the encouragement and blessing!
Thank you Manderson for your input too!
God bless you both.
P.S. I do want to clarify that I didn't ever see God as unjust! I am fully assured that everything He does and commands is good and just.
