After hearing a sermon at a caring and concerned Baptist church, I did not make the altar call at first, but went into the bathroom, looked into the mirror, cried and screamed "Make me clean!" as I was tired of the sin I was in and the degradation my life had become. Fortunately another woman heard me and went down the aisle with me tot he altar where I gave my life to God.
I have stumbled before and badly. Temptation is always there, which makes me seriously doubt some of the claims some people make here unless I misunderstand them, that a Christian can live a sinless life on his own after being saved.
Anyway, when I fell back and realized just how weak I had been, I screamed in the mirror to be made clean again and guess what, Jesus did it. I did not lose any salvation. I was forgiven in Christ and am welcomed back as his child once more
Tot he nonbelievers here, I say this. Look into the mirror ,. Are you proud of what you see. Look at yourself and beg for Christ to make you clean.
Look into the mirror, friends. Imagine seeing yourself as God sees you now, and not as you see yourselves. The love and purification of Christ awaits you. Your sins will be forgiven. Accept him into your lives. You can be made clean as I was made clean and so many countless others have before you. God';s plan for salvation is there for you. You must come to God.

Nobody can live above sin on their own, it is Christ and his Spirit that enables us to live a life of Holiness. You should not use your temptations as a standard to judge whether or not what peopel might say is true.

I have stumbled before and badly. Temptation is always there, which makes me seriously doubt some of the claims some people make here unless I misunderstand them, that a Christian can live a sinless life on his own after being saved. Nobody can live above sin on their own, it is Christ and his Spirit that enables us to live a life of Holiness. You should not use your temptations as a standard to judge whether or not what peopel might say is true. FS, the WORD of GOD and HIS SPIRIT directs us how to flee these temptations. Once a person becomes BORN AGAIN from above, they are a new creature of HOLINESS. That means we must live a HOLY life. That means we must leave that old life behind. Old friends, jobs, pleasures and etc that may cause us to stumble. One who comes to CHRIST will not make it if they cannot put away that old life. What I have seen mostly in a new believer is that they cannot leave old friends who becomes a stumbling for the new believer to walk and live a HOLY LIFE. WE must flee all that is EVIL. Especially a new believer who is still weak in the flesh. Once that person becomes mature in SPIRIT and TRUTH, only then should they go back to old friends and family to be a witness to them. 1 John 3:3-10, "And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure. Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin. Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him. Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous. He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother."

CONDESCENDING ?
FS I meant no harm to you at all. All I gave was scripture and what scripture teaches us. Only after you have made a statement about living a holy life. Again, I meant not to harm you in any way, just trying to help you.

OK, Okay. Hey that is fine. Please understand I have often had a more difficult time dealing with other Christians than I have with some of the sinners. It is a very long story. I thought to delete my other post but will leave it up. Let me look and read your last post a bit more carefully and a little less emotionally. Like P.eter, I sometimes talk too quickly......

PS I did voluntarily delete my response to you two as it really doesn't fit now, does it. I took you the wrong way.
