It is good to be on the board again. I have been in the South Georgia area and this message board is blocked in all the public libraries in that area.

In spite of our differences, Micah, this is NOT right. I can see blocks on porn sites and the like, but do not see how this board should be blocked. On the contrary, even from a secular point, this could be a valuable research tool or contact point for students, adults and others who do not have a personal computer and even in this day and age there are some The libraries in West Virginia have no problem with this page.

The site most likely isn't being blocked by the libraries or Georgia or anything like that. That's just not their style. Without knowing what message you're getting, it sounds like someone using libraries down there to get on this site got banned. Jesse might've had a bit too much fun with IP ranges and banned a few counties to make sure he went.
Not entirely effective, but sometimes it works.

Jesse deserves to be banned and so do the others cut from his bolt of cloth. Someone in the library could well have recognized the false doctrine they teach here and banned them, acting as true believers. The south is the Bible Belt, you know.
I praise God for this ban and blocking of a false prophet.
There are, by the way, many, many ways around a ban if someone wants to take the trouble.
Rather than just accepting it, did Micah in that pea sized brain of hi ever think of asking the library why this site was blocked? He has such a big mouth when confrontation is to his advantage for publicity, I am surprised he did not make an issue of this and get to the bottom of ti with the librarian.

Sorry, the admin functions within Proboards only allows the blocking of individual IP addresses and registered usernames. The filters on the library's servers are banning this board because of content within the threads.

Did anything else ever become of this? Is the page banned for sure?

What an outrage! We have our right to free speech and Georgia feels it necessary to limit it? We need to write to some politicians methinks.

Not to really take sides, but when you are inside of a network the IP the 'outside world' sees isn't always that computer's personal IP but many times the entire network. So, if you block a gateway IP you will inturn block all the computers inside that network. Here is an example. I went to whatismyipaddress.com/index.php and it said what it thinks my IP address is. But, this is really not the IP address of my computer. If I do an ipconfig command from the command promt, it gives me the IP address assigned to my computer. If you were to block a individual computer's IP address there is a good chance the IP will change the next time the computer is rebooted anyways, since a normal computer typically runs DHCP. I'm a little curious to see what the error message was...

You need to fight this, Jesse. Blockage if one person is one thing but blocking one of the gateways in a mass block, especially in public service area as a library needs to be illegal.
