If someone is "twice dead", is there no hope for them? no room for repentance? Are they lost forever? I look forward to hearing your views. Jude 1:12 These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds they are without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots; Bumping this up for some answers to Bounbough's questions.

Once dead in sins, then saved, and then dead in sins again.
Lost forever.
That is what I believe.

So what you are saying Micah, if I get you right is if you receive Christ, but backslide, you are lost for good and won;t get a second chance to be saved? If so, this sounds absurd.

I do not know how far is too far and I do not want to find out. This I do know though...we can go to far. The Bible warns of this repeatedly.
It is nothing to play around with.
Romans 1:24, 26, 28-God gave them up
Hebrews 12:17-Esau could find no place of repentance though he sought it carefully even with tears.
Hebrews 3:7-8-Hardening of the heart when we resist the Spirit of God
Genesis 6:3-God's Spirit will not always strive with man.
Hebrews 10:26-31
I am not saying the first time someone backslides they are lost forever and can never be saved. It is possible though. I do not know how far is too far and I do not want to experiment and try to find out.
We are warned above we can go too far. That is enough.

The question is, how dead in sins again are we talkin here? Yes that is the question. Let’s review of whom the Scriptures are talking about. 4 They are godless men, who change the grace of our God into a license for immorality and deny Jesus Christ our only Sovereign and Lord.
8 these dreamers pollute their own bodies, reject authority and slander celestial beings.
10Yet these men speak abusively against whatever they do not understand; and what things they do understand by instinct, like unreasoning animals—these are the very things that destroy them
11Woe to them! They have taken the way of Cain; they have rushed for profit into Balaam's error; they have been destroyed in Korah's rebellion.
12These men are blemishes at your love feasts, eating with you without the slightest qualm—shepherds who feed only themselves. They are clouds without rain, blown along by the wind; autumn trees, without fruit and uprooted—twice dead.
13They are wild waves of the sea, foaming up their shame; wandering stars, for whom blackest darkness has been reserved forever.
16These men are grumblers and faultfinders; they follow their own evil desires; they boast about themselves and flatter others for their own advantage.Obviously , those are men who , although they still make profession of being Christian or servant of God, are full of tares , not able to blush anymore , not able to cringe over their sin(s), but practise it openly without shame, and not only that they practise plenty of different sins without any shame as these scriptures say : Impurity, rebellion, boasting (boasting even of what is shameful) , egocentrism , hating others , practising slandering but also manipulation when it benefits to them. Also making profit of the Gospel to get rich. Their conscience is like sealed with a hot iron. Now , not all backsliders practise these things. There are backsliders who still cringe over their state. They may have fallen away because of only one sin. There are backsliders who know that deep within they are far from God , somewhere they still want to please God , but they don’t know too well how to come back, For these there is of course still a chance...in total surrender like prodigal sons. The Lord will accept those with open arms.

First death = physical death - hades
Second death = condemnation - hell
Rev 21:8 But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death."

True testimony:
Robert Turnage after preaching a meeting in Tennessee, seeing a man under great conviction and holding on to the front pew when the alter service was given, asked the man"why don't you come?" He said, "I can't come"
He said, " I was a preacher like yourself. I pastored a church, I became involved with a women in an adulterous affair." One morning on the way to the womens house God spoke to me and said, "if you cross that threshold this morning My Spirit will depart. I will not deal with you again." He drove on. He said, I drove to the house. I knocked on the door and when the women opened the door, The Holy Spirit said to me, "if you cross that threshold I will not deal with you again, you will have lost your opportunity forever."
He said, "driven by lust I crossed that threshold God left me preacher. I wouldn't let Him heal that miry place."
I think there definitely is a place that one can reach where his fate is eternally sealed for hell.

I do not believe the story above by Brother Ross. Oh I believe this event took place alright, but do not believe The Holy Spirit would never deal with him and he would be lost forever if he truly repented. Rather if true I think it is a mental issue where the man;s own guilt has convinced him, with some help from the devil who is a liar from the start, that he is eternally lost.
I do not believe at all that there is definitely a point while they are alive that a person;s fate will be sealed for hell. What you are saying is if he should somehow wish to repent this repentance would be rejected by Christ?
Absurd.
