Faith Hope and Love in Jesus Christ,
On Friday night the clubs at Westport are always packed. Last Friday the Holy Spirit led me to go to the lost sheep. As I was walking down a street I saw two brothers holding a huge cross. They are the same brothers that I had seen before one night. It was awesome when we acknowledged each other, how beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace!!!Mostly I was handing out gospel tracts, coz rarely do people want to carry a bible with them to the club.I handed out a gospel tract reading 'after death what next' to one guy and he wanted to talk more about it with me so I sat down and talked to him. He said he wasn’t supposed to be out there in the midst of the club scene and actually he was waiting on somebody to give him a ride. I asked him if I could read Galatians 5 to him about walking in the spirit and not fulfilling the lusts of the flesh to which he agreed. He asked me about drunkenness which is one of the works of the flesh listed. I told him those practicing such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. I told him that before I was a Christian I really didn’t care about living for God and I used to get drunk, but by the power of the Holy Spirit I didn’t practice that anymore. He had so many questions saying the bible was against drunkenness and not drinking, also Jesus turned water into wine. I told him that there was a difference between wine and strong drink and read Proverbs 21.1.Then I asked him at what point when you start drinking do you realize that you are getting drunk, coz when I used to drink I didn’t realize that point, and also what about the times people drink and then the effect of the alcohol comes much later? He laughed at that and said I had a point. We talked for a while and he was really thankful that I had talked to him. I handed out more tracts and met this guy who told me he didn’t believe anything he ever did could take away his ticket to heaven. He believed he could never loose his ticket to heaven. I asked him if he had a bus ticket to Detroit and lost that ticket how would he get there. His friends started laughing at him and told him she's got a point there. Then he told me that God already knew the sins he would be committing and that’s why Jesus died. I told him Jesus died for his sin but not for him to sin. Then he told me that he had been taught that he could never loose his salvation. I asked him if I could share the parable of the sower with him and I read it to him, he seemed to think about that for a while. His friends told him they had to leave and so he left. I continued handing out tracts and met this guy who happened to be a Muslim. I asked him about the Ten Commandments and if God judged him by that would he be able to stand? He told me he was from Egypt and that was where Mt.Sinai was so of course he knew the Ten Commandments, he then admitted that he would not stand, and I told him the same thing and that was why Jesus Christ the Son of God was the perfect sacrifice because he never broke any of the Ten Commandments. He told me all prophets were righteous and never sinned. I told him Jesus was more than a prophet he was the Son of God. Then I told him that all other prophets fell short for example Moses struck the rock when God hadn’t told him. He looked at me amazed. Then he went on to talk about Mohamed, he told me Mohamed's miracle was the Quran and it was true because the things prophesied in it had actually come to pass. I told him the devil can give revelations too and try to predict the future for example palm readers. He refuted this, I talked to him some more until he told me he had to leave but promised he would read the gospel tract. One guy came up to where I was standing and hugged me and said he was ready to surrender his life to Jesus. I discerned that he wasn’t totally honest, so I asked him if he knew what it takes to follow Jesus. I told him he had to renounce all worldly deeds and choose to follow Jesus and obey his commandments. I read to him Galatians 5 and he told me he was involved in all the works of the flesh listed. I told him that those who are Christ’s can crucify the flesh with all its passions and desires by the Holy Spirit. He then told me he wasn’t ready, and thanked me for talking to him and said he would be thinking about it. I then gave out more tracts it was around 3.30 am. My brother in Christ Ed was also out witnessing and we went and talked to this one guy who had more to say about rock bands than anyone I have ever met before. He kept asking what we thought about Heavy metal . I finally asked him if he wanted me to pray for him and he let me hold his hand to pray for him but he drew back and said he wasn’t going to allow good people to do that for him, we told him no one was good except one. He told us he had seen hell, and showed us a scar on his leg which got burned by hot water, when someone put him in a tub when he was a kid. We talked more to him about the gospel and finally he just quoted to us a rock band explaining why he was not willing to accept the gospel message and left to get a cab. We then joined the 2 brothers who were carrying a cross and it happened that they were talking to 3 guys about the gospel. It was such a blessing, it really is whenever you meet other sheep of the flock spreading the gospel, it always encourages me and leaves me in awe. Pray for all the lost souls that their hearts would be softened and that they would accept Jesus the only way, truth and life.
