Jesse, you need to take that on the road! Oh, wait a minute, you have! ;D I originally laughed, but then i thought, it's true, Calvin did murder, and then it wasn't funny anymore.

Yes, it was a funny joke about something that was not very funny.

If Charles Finney ever was the Castro of Geneva and he burned heretics at the stake, we would never hear the end of it from Calvinists.
Calvinists will strain at a gnat and swallow a camel. They nit pick at Finney and yet overlook major character flaws in Calvin.

Hey Jesse, wouldn't that statement that you mentioned: "Charles Finney murdered someone." fall into the category of a "lie?" Saying an untruth in jest and then saying that you are "just joking," seems to me to be borderline or outright sin. Actually, in our church, we rebuke people for doing that and have done so on several occassions.

Sin is a matter of the intention.
I was joking. To call it sin is to be sort of legalistic.
Besides, "we all sin every day in word, thought, and deed". lol

Derek Saying that Charles Finney did what John Calvin actually did instead; then say, "oh, wait, that was John Calvin" is not a sin. It is more like making a point.

Hey REVK, Are you sure Mark Kielar and LaneCh are liars? Because it might not have been their intention to lie....if they said some things that were not true. And Jesse wrote: "Sin is a matter of the intention". So unless they directly intended to state things that were not true...then you really can't say they are liars. And it would seem to me that it is very hard to judge correctly a person's intentions. So how can you call them liars? Please note, that I am reasoning along the line of thinking that would seem to come from Jesse and the statement he mentioned..."Sin is a matter of intention." Actually I see sin as being a whole lot more than just a matter of the intention.

However, once they see these videos, and continue to say what they have been, then they would be lying; knowing the truth, but counting with the false intentionally.
