What places can I go to hand out tracts? I thought Parks would be a good place but I researched it and it said no solicitation. Have any ideas for me?

I have looked into the laws in my area and passing out tracts is not soliciting because you aren't selling or advertising anything. I have had security guards ignorantly tell me was soliciting but it isn't. If you have a main street with shops or bars it is a really good place to pass out tracts. Ray Comfort passes out tracts in malls (and usually gets kicked out very quickly) but he gets a lot out. I live near beaches and it is perfectly legal to pass out tracts there. If you can't find any place I have secretly put tracts in beer 6-packs, in convenient places in stores (jean pockets in clothing stores), telephone booths, bathrooms, etc... If you are still unsure, ask the park authorities. I was told that I could open air preach and pass out tracts in the parks in my areas by the park authorities. Or you can go to you courthouse and ask around there and look up laws in the courthouse library. I hope that helps... Liz

Over here in Aus you are not allowed to hand them out in the shopping centres.
I usually leave them laying around sometimes eg) on the train seat, in the library at uni etc

In Brisbane, you are legally not allowed to hand them out anywhere. But we have decided to hand tracts to people wherever we find them.

Public parks are not available to exercise free speech? I wonder if that is constitutional.
We go downtown with small sandwich signs at lunchtime and walk around and pass out tracts. People are MUCH more apt to take a tract if they see that you have a gospel sign, for people these days are extremely suspicious. I cannot overemphasize how effective these signs are for tracts. ( Often people think that the only people that pass out literature are Mormons or Jehovahs witnesses. Sadly this is often the case- cults will pass out literature, but people that believe just the Bible won't!) But when they see the sign half a block away, they get the idea churning in their mind: What do I think about Jesus? (Signs from astreetpreacher.com)
Parade routes are good to pass out tons of tracts. Also local events: concerts, festivals, etc. Check the weekend section. If you are on public property you should not have any problems (of course we know that this isn't always the case)
Walmart is an excellent place to get started. Usually Walmarts are so crowded that managers don't have time to stop solicitation or bother with you. Drop some 10 commandments coins in the 12 packs of beer. If nothing else you can leave tracts on every aisle. Put some in an empty place on the shelf. Strike up a conversation with someone: "Do you know anything about these vitamins (garden hoses, whatever)? Swing from the natural to the spiritual. We have passed out tracts in the line to get sandwich meat too. Sometimes when I don't feel that confident, I will just leave tracts in the carts or bathrooms or just in random places. It is MUCH easier to pass em out with your likeminded friends.
Sometimes it is not a good idea to pass out tracts. Usually at the grocery store in line to checkout, we will take our Bible and start reading it out loud, and discussing it one with the other. This definitely gets peoples attention. Loud enough where people can hear it, but not loud enough to have the manager get you.
A lot of night clubs have lines to get in. Great place to pass out tracts. A lot may end up on the ground but there are always people that do take them. Better to go in a group, as these aren't usually in the best parts of town, esp if you are a female.
Hope this helps. Also, I like to leave em in the drive thru tubes at the bank. Esp the million dollar bills.

Additionally: at Walmart, grocery stores, or book stores; place tracts within the pages of the magazines/books/phonebooks etc.

Bebo,
I have found that if you just hand them out, then nobody really cares. I have handed them out inisde courthouses, at my younger sisters school functions, the mall (I got kicked out when I started to witness) and parks. Grocery stores are a good place, I give them out quite often in stores. But I think as long as a big deal is not made out of it then nobody cares.

baseball fields, lay on top of food at grocery stores, leave in drive throughs at bank, hand out to fast food drive thrus, post office, Wal-Mart, library, bookstores (self-help section of Barnes & Nobles is good!) movie theatres, everywhere your feet take you in your daily life. You don't really have to seek out places, they are all around you as you go about your day. It is much easier that way than to "plan" to pass out tracts I've found. Godspeed and go tell!

Also, those annoying loose insert things are the work of the devil, and that I know you do it too, only prooves even more to me you're in league with the devil!!

free speech, guys. that includes lies as well on the part of others. We can't take the stance that only we can speak our views and convictions. But we don't fret, worry or get frustrated when the lies also go out - take the actions of the ACLU for years, trying to thwart the plans and purposes of God. They do what they do, God allows it. Does he CONDONE it? Certainly not. He is not the author of sin. But it is not an either or here. We speak, you speak, let God be the judge of our hearts, and who speaks Truth.

One time my brother and my cousins and I passed out tracts in Sears Tower. There were people filing in so we just started handing them to everyone. Nobody stopped us either! It was amazing!

You're going to hell faster than you know! You need to come to God before God turns you over to a reprobate mind so that you CANNOT repent! Place your faith in the Son of God, the Lord Jesus Christ!

I have put my faith in Him. He told me to NOT trust you. Sorry, but it's true. Why should I believe you when I can believe God???

I placed an Aussie million dollar bill in a cigarette packet which was on the seat at the bus stop. I went to the shops and when I walked passed the seat someone was reading the tract. The Aussie million looks very similar to a $100 bill so I guess the guy thought it was $100. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cx7LxNjxlEM
