You try to witness to someone and they say "Yeah, yeah, I've heard the whole are you a good person bit, trust me, I've seen my fair share of the way of the master, I think it's all a buch of hog wash...Hatred is murder, lust is adultery...yadda yadda yadda..."
What should we say to someone who has such a low regard for the law and an obvious chip on their shoulder?

I love ray comfort and all of what he does and stands for but i new this problem would emerge! its become a METHOD you can say it to people without having a prayer life. Ray is probably living a life of prayer but many of the people i meet and even myself when i first watched way of the master just use it because weve seen it and think if we show them the 10 commandments theyl break down in tears and cry out for God. God never has and never will honour a mans preaching who doesnt pray!! You have to show someone your a real person and not a robot who can only cite the 10 commandments that you actually care about them, saying i care about where you spend eternity does not neccesarily mean i actually care about them! Most people are looking for another notch on there sinners prayer board. Make sure you really care where people go and who their living for whilst here and people will see that whether they repent or not.

Sometimes it helps to say "Oh, well then great! you already know the law, so have you repented of your sins and put your faith in Jesus Christ?" They can either say yes I have and then ask them if they preach the gospel and live a holy life or if they say no then ask them why and let the conversation go from there. I also agree that prayer is very important. I also think it is important to know scripture so that you can speak about a commandment and expund on what the Word of God says about lying or stealing. This diviates form the "Method." Also try starting out with a different question, like "What do you think happens after you die?" and then go into the commandments, judgment, hell...
