FANTASTIC CROWDS IN FORT WORTH
August 20th, 2005
A musician was occupying the usual street corner we preach on, so we selected the corner of Third and Main, in Sundance Square. There was plenty of continual traffic flow, which gave us plenty of fish to try to catch in our nets. I had friends from Teen Mania come to preach and we met up with other local Christians, which made a team of ten total. We set up the sound system, easel and displays, and table with free bibles to start our night of preaching for the Lord!
I had the privilege of breaking the sound barrier first for the night and ended up having a nice size crowd of 20 or more. It started with the trivia and then went straight to the good-test. After he admitted to being a sinner I told him that he lost the money but that he doesn’t have to loose his soul. Although I can’t give him the money, I told him what I could give him was the truth. I then continued on to preach the unadulterated gospel while he and the crowd stayed and listened the entire time.
“If any of you were to die tonight in your sins you’d go straight to hell. You have your sins and you have your soul. You can either keep your sins and loose your soul, or you can loose your sins and keep your soul. Which one are you going to keep and which are you going to loose? We all need Jesus Christ. Repent and believe and you “shall be saved from wrath through Him” (Romans 5:9).”
After that Stephan preached and drew in a very great crowd. He preached his heart out against sin and also passionately for the Lord Jesus Christ. After Stephan a women named Tamra preached open-air for the fifth time ever! She ended up getting the biggest crowds of us all! She had anywhere between 30-40 people listening to the gospel right there on the street corner! She didn’t just preach once, after she finished with one group she would preach again and draw another crowd, and then again and again! It was a beautiful sight.
We went on to do one2one witnessing. We would ask groups of teenagers if they could name 10 beers and then if they could name the10 commandments. One guy, Ben, had been doing it all night. Then Tamra stopped a large group of teens. I had given tracts to a group of college girls who ended up going through the 10 beers, 10 Commandment quiz with Stephan. Afterwards there was another group of African American kids I spoke with. One of them seemed to have tears in his eyes as I took him through the Ten Commandments. He had no idea what true repentance was so I told him “true repentance is stopping it. If you lie, you stop it. If you steal, you stop it. If you lust, you stop it. Etc” He eventually said he knew all that so I encouraged him to live it.
