In a small little town nearby I saw a shop which does custom T-Shirts. I put in an order for two black shirts, medium size, white print, stencil stamp font, for street preaching. I went to pick them up today but was an hour early. So I took my "TRUST JESUS" and "KNOW the GOD of the BIBLE" banner to the interesection and just held it for everyone driving by for the hour. I figured doing something for the Lord is always better then doing nothing for the Lord. I got a few funny looks, a few thumbs up, and the Pastor (or maybe assistent Pastor) of the local Baptist Church came out, thrilled at what I was doing, and prayed for me, that God would say "this lost and dying world heading for hell". Anyways, here are the shirts: FIRST SHIRTFRONT:BACK:SECOND SHIRT:FRONT:BACK:SLEEVE:

newsong, I just went to the little local store that does prints on shirts, mugs, mouse pads, etc.
Check the phone book to see if you can't find a print shop that does shirts. I don't know of any major print shops here in the states you would want to use. Maybe someone else knows of one.

But what were you doing for God? Honestly, I'm impressed by your obvious zeal and willfulness to do good, but you weren't really 'doing' anything. If a satanist wore a t shirt by the roadside that said 'obey satan,' would you really be anything but disgusted for all of a second as you passed him by?
My friend, what you need to be doing is putting that effort into showing people what it is to be christian. Take a homeless person to lunch and talk to him about the bible and what christ wants to do for him, but only do so if he wants to learn more, because no one is more turned off to something than by a persistant salesman. You could also go out and help at a soup kitchen, or drive up and down the road helping stranded motorists, or help build free housing for charity organizations.
Jesus never came to a roadside and screamed "obey my father" over and over again. He helped people, and showed people the beauty of christianity through his actions. He didn't hand the leppers pamphlets, he 'healed' them, and gave them a kind word. Most of the time he didn't even preach. He simply showed by example what christianity was like.
My friend, I admire your enthusiasm, but you need to "be" a christian. There are enough people in this world holding pointless signs.

dude, or dudette, you're my kind of Christian. Doing things like CHRIST did?!? That's so revolutionary! Why, I don't think that's been done since, well, Jesus himself.
Sadly, I don't think you'll find much agreement here from these "Christians."

I disagree, though I am glad you like my opinion. I don't think it is revolutionary, but the very duty of every christian since the dawn of our religion. The fact that you think no one else on the board will agree with me is somewhat depressing, and I hope that you are wrong.

Well, whatever the truth is, you'll find out after being on the board awhile.

If the only witness someone has is a dinky little t-shirt, that's terrible!
I've said before, "if your life is not a sermon, you have no right to preach one!"
The t-shirts are not meant to be the fulfillment of the great commission.
They are simply to help us as we open air preach.
And we preach because Jesus said, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature."
And he meant with our physical voices because we know that, "faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God" and "how can they hear without a preacher?"

How can they hear you if they are unwilling to hear? If they do not see a reason to listen, people will simply tune it out. I am all for preaching, but I preach with both my body, my mind, and my voice. I think you must use your whole vessel in order to truly preach.
I am not against telling people about God, mind you, not at all. I'm simply against making noise when you could be doing something amazing AND telling people why.

We simply make it available to them. We don't force it on them or anything. If they want to stop and listen, then they can. And, thousands of stopped! Check it out: www.OpenAirOutreach.com/gallery

Tell me how many people that stopped were not already Christian, and I'll tell you how many more people you could have converted with a kind deed. Its all I'm saying. Just because you can drink soup with a strainer as a spooon does not mean it is the best way to drink soup.
Also, every time I try to spell spooon correctly it makes it into a different word, so I apologize for the gramatical error.

Take it from a "heathen," your tatget audience, I'd rather listen to someone who was helping me or doing something nice to me then someone who was yelling at me for my faults. Like OAO does!!
Why is that so hard for you guys to understand? Where in the Bible does it say that Jesus meant yelling at people to get them to convert??

onlytruechristian,
How long have you been following this ministry or the messageboard?

Mr. Morrell, I think you are taking that quote out of context, and I ask you to read the chapter again to see if you are really making sense by showing that to us here.
Mr. Parsley, I can honestly say I've only been here for a few days, but I had hoped that a message board of Christians intent on helping spread the message would be of like mind to me. I have read through your board thoroughly, and I have seen the things you have done. Your ministry was the thing that made me want to join this community.

Now Jesse, don't just pick and choose the things Jesus did to copy out of the Bible.
(hehe, it's fun to say that too!)
