If anyone is in the Charleston area....
There's a Pagans Meeting every Thursday night at 7 on the College of Charleston campus.
Anyone interested in learning about paganism should come!
Also, the Gay/Straight Alliance meets on Tuesdays.
Oh oh, and the National Organization for Women, devoted to gender equality and feminist issues also meets on Thursdays.
Let's see what else?
Oh yes.
Atheist/Humanist Alliance meets on Wednesdays I think.
^_^

*sigh* And where's the Christian group's prayer meeting? That's not a jab at you, Morluna.

I highly recommend if we have any preachers in the area, go to these meetings. Bring some banners, some bullhorns and a burning heart for the gospel.

Keep the bullhorns away please... but feel free to come out. You might learn something about how we non-Christians really live.
Jaolver: Campus Crusade for Christ meets on Thursday night at 7. I used to go their meetings, but then I realized they were crazy not for me. ^_^

Campus crusade really not what I would call a good example of Christianity. They are awfully carnal (or at east they were, if they have changed forgive my presumption).

I don't think "carnal" is quite the right word... but on second thought I don't think I'd consider them quite your type people either. ... although the only "your type people" I've ever met are on this board. Lol. I'm pretty sure you guys are a rare breed in Christianity.

We like being a rare breed, it really is a compliment as we are so narrow minded according to some.

Morluna, Before we were Christians we were non-christians. We already know how you non-christians live. BOOOORRRRRIIIIIIINNNNNNGGGGGG!!!!! You have no more right to make that statement than I have the right to say that I know what all Christians are like because I've met a bunch of them. Have you personally seen how every non-Christian in the world lives? Then I'll thank you not to make such generalizations. I never associate any traits with Christians as a whole--I might qualify it with a "some," or an "in my experience," but I will never blatantly stereotype in such ways. If you can find a post in which I've said "All Christians do {X}," then I stand ready to be corrected. I'm sure you don't like some of the things I say; I don't like some of the things you say. But let's give each other the same respect here, please.

I'm not sure which is worse." That was just a little mean and very untrue. It was a stereotype. We have spoken before and it is hurtful that you would consider me to be "Shifty and lacking intelligence/education/information/guts." I hope you really don't think of all of us that way. Liz

Just saw this; I forgot I'd posted here--apologies!
Actually, I was about to say that you took my words out of context, and when I went back to read the thread I realized that I'd misread what I was originally responding to. I read "these are" as "there are," implying that there are some shifty Christians here. And there are. And there are some who fit my precise description. That was my mistake and I apologize for the misconception.
I definitely did not mean that all Christians on this board are as I represented in my post--again, I misread what I was responding to. I was actually just about to go "ohhh you took it out of context!" and then reread Morluna's original post and went: "...whoopsiedoodle." I certainly do not believe that. It was meant as a statement that some of the Christians on this board fit that description: you'll notice that I never used the word "all." I also believe that there are some stupid, shifty, uneducated, and uninformed non-Christians on this board. I just happened to not be speaking about them there. I do make the effort to call people on abuse of the English language and faulty information whether they personally agree with me or not, so as to be an equal-opportunity heckler.
And for the record, I was thinking of a few very specific people when I posted that, and you were wholeheartedly not one of them. I like you. ;D

I may be wrong, but campus crusade for Christ was started by Bill Bright? for reaching out to the unbelievers at colleges with the gospel. Sometimes over time though, to soften the message which is blisteringly pure preached by jesse, miles, micah, parsley, liz, ejuliot, etc..... so down and out revival meetings have gotten softened (not all the time mind you, this is just a generalization) to basketball outreach, arts & crafts outreach, & movie nite outreach & the message has been softened from sin is against God ......to everyone is searching in life & God will fill that void and make everything better. I imagine people get saved at said meetings, people get built up, but being convicted by God to preach in public is militant evangelism. It may make man/woman look crazy, but God is held high!!!
