In July the largest 'church' in Australia will be holding their annual conference at the Sydney Superdome. Thousands are expected to attend. This 'church' preaches a false gospel of love, joy, peace, prosperity etc. The senior pastor praised Pope JPII as a great christian who preached the gospel and whose demise should be mourned by all. Many false teachers/prophets will be proclaiming their errors at this conference. This includes the two pastors from the largest 'seeker-sensitive churches' in the USA.
Our OA team are really greived at this great deception in the name of Christ. We are seeking the Lord and your counsel how to reach these deceived souls.
We are sure that there will be saved and those who think they are saved attending.
Our question to you is should we simply preach law/grace or should we expose the unbiblical teachings/challenge the saved to share their faith instead of listening to unsound doctrine.
We just want to make sure that God is glorified in everything we say and do. Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Hey brother...glad you are bold enough to go out there and preach to these people. Are you talking about Hillsong Church? Just curious...I would actually preach a false convert message. Maybe start by saying something like this: "Modern-day Christianity tells us, 'Just ask Jesus into your heart, Just pray this little prayer after me' and that is all God requires of you in this life in order to spend eternity in Heaven with Him. Well, friends, I come here today to expose this lie from Hell and to speak the truth of GOd's Word on this issue. 2 Cor. 13:5 says, 'Examine yourselves to see if you are in the faith...', so I would just ask that you examine your own hearts today as I lift up my voice like a trumpet to preach to you the truth of God's Word!" That should be good for starters I would definitely speak on Matthew 7:20-25 and focus on "Without Holiness, no man shall see the Lord." Preach it hard and bold brother, because the ones who think they are saved are the hardest to convince they ain't!!

I think you should do both. Exposing the errors needs to be done. This will also get their attention. Show them why it is unbiblical. Once you have got their attention you can direct the preaching in the direction you think you need to go.
I think the way you preach at that point should probably be determined beforehand through prayer, and by the feedback/comments they make to you.

I appreciate your advice. Yeah, Rev K it is the Hillsong (Hellsong) 'church'. God has really blessed us because we live 10 minutes down the road from them.

you may expose 'a lie', but if you counter a christian rally....christian vs. christian only means that non-believers would be less likely to attend the event. so, if you have no intention on witnessing to the lost, go for it, but if you expect to swoon thousands...expect chaos.

What's in your heart? Why do you call them "hellsong" in jest? Don't you know that the tares grow among the wheat? Wasn't it asked if the tares shouldn't be pull up? And what did Christ say? No, because while you're pulling up the tares, you might harm/destroy the wheat. To Christ, protecting the good crop was more important than destroying the bad. Have faith young man, that God will divide the sheep from the goats that He will have the tares gathered and burned. See to it that you don't become as Saul in your quest to expose the lie and unveil the truth. (ref. Matthew Chpt 13 for the Tares/Wheat parable)
If you want to know what to say, look through the letters that were written in the New Testament to the various churches, they were dealing with the same things we are dealing with, immorality, get rich quick, unbiblical "tolerance" and other false doctrines. Ask God which one of them are His Word for this moment. Then when you speak it, Have Faith. Gods Word going out, will not return to Him void of a harvest. You don't need to argue, you just need to speak His Words. Even as John the Baptist called out, REPENT, it was the power of Gods Word going out, the Holy Spirit bringing conviction and the will of man bending his/her knee in response. There were also many knees that did not bow while on the earth.
I think of you all as modern John the Baptists and I pray that God will raise up more men and women who are pure in heart ,focused, who can hear what the Spirit of the Lord says and can be moved with the same compassion that Christ demonstrated both turning the tables over and presenting the picture of himself as a mother hen gather her chicks.

What's in your heart? Why do you call them "hellsong" in jest? Don't you know that the tares grow among the wheat? I just say it like it is. I totally agree with you about the wheat and tares, however the 'Hellsong' term is based on the leadership of the 'church'. They are false teachers and as I have previously stated in another thread one of their youth pastors denied the existence of hell. I have been to a number of their 'services' and I can assure you that what goes on is straight from the pit of hell. The Lord's name is blasphemed by their irreverant 'worship' and wordly conduct. I recently heard a pastor defending confrontational evangelism where he stated that even those who are saved still need to hear the gospel. Repetition is very important. Our team have decided that we will preach the gospel and if we conclude that our listeners appear to be saved then we will preach against false doctrine and encourage these brethren to turn from these false teachers. Thanks for your input, it's greatly appreciated. PS 'over 40' - you are still a youngster!

I was at Hillsong in 2004, and I did some witnessing there. Just about everyone I spoke to was lost. So I think it would be a case of preaching on holiness, and repentance.
It would be great to fly down, and do outreach at this event but I will be down your way in early September for the Sydney EBC.

Paul, in Galatians 1, shows us clearly what those who preach a false gospel are, accursed! Bro, too bad I will be in the States when you go out, but preach holiness, righteousness, temperance and judgment to come! Hellsong need to have the fear of God in them! None of this sitting on your blessed assurance preaching God is love and nonsense like that...I Cor 1:18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness...
Preacher Robert Hulewicz
