"Street evangelists are the sergeants of evangelism. While parachurch ministries typically tell others how to evangelize, street evangelists see the battle firsthand. The war looks very different on the ground. Others may stufy maps and give orders, but street evangelists fight hand-tohand combat."
This book is an excellent book detailing the problem of easy-believism and false conversions; how it started, what it looks like today and what to do.
The Graham Formula: Why Most Decisions For Christ are Ineffective By Patrick McIntyre
I haven't finished yet...It seems very very good.

I finished it and it's excellent. He doesn't pull any punches on the ineffectiveness of today's "modern gospel" message and sappy, syrupy altar calls. He definitely quotes tons of scripture, believes in holiness and biblical preaching in and outside of the pulpit, and strong intentional consistent follow up ministry. He like a lot of Finney's works as well as Edwards, Wesley and Whitefield.
I want to get copies of it and hand it out on campuses to Christian students who oppose the preaching. It's relatively short - it's to the point. No beating around the bush.

I started reading it today and I'm on page 66. So far it is excellent. I'm involved with a literature mission bookstore here in Logan Utah and I plan on reccomending it to them.

Great! Where can you get this book at? It seems it is hard to find any good books in most so called "Christian" bookstores.
Is he primarily crediting Billy Graham with much of the emphasis on easy believism?
I have long believed he was a false teacher because the world speaks so highly of him (Luke 6:26).

Amazon.com has them... but they are all used. I buy most of my books that way though.
Or just contact Patrick McIntyre, who posted above. He is the author of the book.

He goes through history and follows the progression to where we are now. I guess it kind of culminated with Graham.

Yeah, it culminates on how Graham began to tie in the good things like after meetings and follow up. But it talks about the need for follow up, the need for good Gospel content.

Yes, it does culminate with Graham, but it started with Billy Sunday. He takes the blame off of Finney (where it should have never of been in the first place) and tells the truth about history. I promoted the book and the video series on YouTube back in my January Newsletter
