You can always take one verse from the Bible and use it to counter what someone else says. This, a favorite tactic of some of you, leaves no impression upon me. I could easily turn to you and site "Waste not quotations on a foolish man"
I did NOT vote for Obama, but I now wish i would have.
I wasted a vote on McCain and Palin, believing some of the church people who saw these two s as brother and sister in Christ when a little look into their own history proves otherwise.
John McCain cheated on an ailing wife and had an affair with present wife Cindy, dumping his first wife for this better deal. He has mouthed the name of Christ and the cause of Christianity simply to get Christian votes and with me it worked. Never again! I did not see through him until too late.
Sara Palin waved Jesus like a battle flag, but the under the table manipulations during her campaign and her governorship coming to light, her inability to keep her own kids under control and Hod knows how many scandals will yet to be revealed, proves she is a pseudo-christian.
Unlike other Christians who believe everything they hear in a pulpit, in a Sunday school discussion group or on Fix news, I have started thinking for myself and not believing everything I am told or being dictated to by others. I wish I would have done this sooner.
Obama is the right man for the job as compared to the other choices we had. He is on the right track in fixing a country badly broken by the "brother in Christ" Republicans.
He will have my vote in four years and I wish I would have given it to him in 2008. By then we should have a national health care program that is long overdue.
Can't anyone here but me think for his or herself?

CAN YOU control the mind of others? no! of course not! this does not mean she is not a Christian. that makes as much sense as "Christians can't get cancer" how do i know that you are a Christian? you said that you will vote for Obama in FOUR years. do you not know his policy on abortion? or did you not know he voted against the "Born Alive Protection Act"?

In the other hand I will say with total fairness to Jesse, his article on Sound Doctrine in the other section is magnificent. This is a complete contrast to this article here and I am really going to spend some time on ti and fi allowed to do so, may print up a copy or two to pass iyt at Wed. night bible study.
I guess with Jessee's writing it is win some and lose some.
Well, you cannot please everyone.
Not a Bible verse. By Barnum maybe?
In any case, I am going to spend a load of time studying this other article instead. Again, I read this and was amazed by the quality and quantity of writing.

Interesting discussion about socialism and capitalism! Anyway. Jesse, I read your piece last night and want you to continue to write about this important subject, when you can find the time. A lot of what you said is very good! I have been interested in "Economics" for a long time. Economics is the study of the production, distribution and consumption of "wealth". Wealth is anything and everything made valuable by human effort. God gives us the ability to produce wealth. Capitalism has been proven to be the most efficient way of producing wealth. when there is sufficent quantities of wealth to be distributed fairly, then everybody benefits. The way that I understand the differences between socialism and capitalism is in how "property" is dealth with. Capitalism allows for private ownership of property whereas socialism allows only for public ownership of property. Now, we know that all property is owned by God. However, He has bestowed upon us stewardship rights and responsibilities. I, too, believe that "God is a Capitalist", Keep up the good work! peace, dmatic

Thanks for insulting me, you're a wonderful person. Not being an expert on Illinois law, I'll sum up what I've read so far on the subject of the Born Alive bill. When the vote you're talking about took place, there was a federal version already in place. At one point, the bill even matched the federal version, almost word for word. Problem was, the bill supposedly would have interfered with Illinois abortion precedents and eventually have been overturned by Roe vs Wade. Federal version had a clause that it would not expand or contract the rights granted by Roe vs Wade, the state version did not. It got shot down because it was constitutionally unsound. Two years later, a version that did have the clause was proposed, and passed overwhelmingly. Obama has stated that he would have voted for the bill if it had that clause, and because it passed in '05 I'm going to assume many of the other senators thought the same, cause they voted it in. I don't think Obama will kill thousands. Call it murder if you want, I disagree. If you're breathing on your own, you get to live. Otherwise, we have over six billion people on earth and I'm fine with some forms of population control.

Roe vs. Wade is still holding up.
Notice I said some forms. You breath, you get to live, as I already said. Birth control is fine. Voluntary abortion is fine. Homosexuality is also fine, they don't contribute to the population. That's about it, off the top of my head.
Eugenics... I can't find a form I could agree with. Advancing the species sounds good and all, but I think advancing science will get us there in a better way.
Quote away Soldier, fancy phrases are always good for a laugh.

So I take it Christian Soldier you are saying that God distinguishes sin and supporting abortion is far worse than unfaithfulness and adultery?
Second, Christian soldier, you are constantly filling posts with probables and speculations. if you dare to question my salvation I also return this and question yours. I wish you would stop speculating until you know all the facts or receive a blinding revelation from in high making all things known to you or you would please keep your mouth shut.
I would have rather seen Huckabee or Ron Paul with the nomination and win, but that is not how this came down
Also John McCain was pro choice way back when and switched sides for political convenience,. talk about hypocrisy.
I pray for you, but you are really getting on my nerves.

wow FS..... first off: John McCain cheated on his wife before he was saved. second: "whoever sheds mans blood, by man his blood shall be shed." GEN. 9:6 so women can murder there children? WHAT IS BIGGER THEN THAT?! this makes me sick, the right to life is questioned. but the mothers right to life was never questioned. you are a very confused person. you can doubt my salvation, that's fine. i don't care. you don't read much of the Bible. i guess. Melmoth: if you where to be put on life support for a few months would you have them pull the plug? you said "if you can breath by your self you can live" this is a serious question, so please answer. also, if every one who couldn't breath was killed you wouldn't be typing....nor would I, or any one else.
perhaps a quote from Bible Geek would be more fitting then one from Toby.

At the cost it takes to maintain someone on life support? Family could pull my plug day two. On life support, I wouldn't want to live.
Not sure what your quote had to do with anything, but it did not make me laugh at all. You disappoint, soldier.

Ok. now that I fixed the typo above can we find something else to be condescending on which is your true form or will you willingly let me know how I might become the perfect christian like I assume you think you are and I am not? I want to be just like you. I have a church service to go to in a few hours so kindly get back with me before that so I can share it with everyone. The more the better, unless you a Calvinist and believe only a select few will make it to heaven, yourself of course on the top of the guest list .
Being selfish is a sin,. Share the secret. I want to be like you.

The problem with economic systems in the world is that they are not free from Financialism. Socialism or Capitalism could work better without supporting the truly selfish financiers. But, we have sinful human nature to deal with, as is evidenced on this thread! People need the just government of The Kingdom of God!
May His kingdom come!

Your constant attacks on Christian Soldier, who is a 13 yr old boy who believes stronger than most adults I know, is starting to get on my nerves. For one who claims to know all, as you do, should know better. I must confess, I think you have nothing better to do than to sit on this board and post your dribble. Keep mouthing off to a young boy if it makes you feel big, but it just makes you look stupid and maybe you are. Get off this board and start being a soul winner. Christ called you to be a laborer in the harvest, what you are doing is just plain embarrasing! Ban me if you want, you are pathetic and I have better things to do such as reaching the lost in this sinnful world, so go on type mockery to kids. You need help!

boldforchrist, in case you haven't been reading Soldier's stuff, he's kinda annoying and insulting. If he were not behind a keyboard, I have a feeling he'd come off somewhat differently. One thing he could do to seem a bit more polite would be to go back to one of his earlier posts and change my name back to Melmoth. I have no idea how you can misspell it to Meximelt, and I'm taking that as the dire insult I believe it is meant to be.
dmatic, sorry for helping derail this thread. If I can get a few things resolved, I will cease, unless something else draws me back in.

I should not have insulted you, i am sorry. That was uncalled for. You shall from now on be named "Melmoth". i will not try to defend myself on this point, lets move on. By the way, i am just as confrontational in person, if not more. boldforchrist keeps reminding me of Matthew 5:16. But that also goes for us all. Sorry for offending you.

Then ou teenage Christian Soldier needs to realize he is playing in a adult world here. He wants to act like an adult, but be treated like a boy when people fire back on him. I am tired of you, bold for Christ , coming on here and defending him. I don't care about his age. He needs to either be careful about what he says or keep his big mouth shut.
