I didn't know where to put this so hopefully this is good enough.
Every Friday and Saturday night there is a guy who plugs in his amp and plays and sings all night. I thought.. hey.. if this guy can do that so can I! I talked to some officers and they said I could. I am calling the Public Information Officer today because those officers didn't know all the info about it. There are some plug-ins on one corner of the street which will be perfect! Eventually I want to have 2 mics, one for me and one for hecklers to ask questions/comments! Right now I'm going to be looking for equipment. I have some I can borrow (minus the kill switch for heckler mic). I am going to try to find a kill switch for the mic. If I can't find one a man at church said he could build one for me no problem! I would also like to video tape some of it. Please be in prayer about this. If anyone has any suggestions about equipment or anything, please say so!
Thanks.

For some reason it will not let me log in.. but it says I am at the bottom.. anyways..
What does everything think about using an amp and mic? I have posted this on another forum that I use and several people have discouraged me about it and said that it would probably be better to just use my voice... What do you guys think? If I have police permission... could there be any reason I shouldn't??

Well...I, personally, have had great blessing with my voice and 'non electronic' amplification. E.g.; a styrofoam cup with the bottom punched out. But I have used amplifiers before and I think they are great, especially in clubbing districts. I know many city ordinances prohibit the use of electronic amplification by residences and hospitals...But each city is always different. Many cities also have ordinance at just how loud the noise within a building can be when it is heard from the outside; but they are hardly ever enforced.
I personally would say in places like clubs/bars and where it can be permitted, electronic amplification is good. Otherwise use your voice. Whitefield was marvelled at by Ben Franklin at the projectin of his voice. Whitefield preached to crowds in the tens of thousands just using his voice!!!
Also - where you stand is key. When we preached at the Homosexual parade in Dallas, we were at a corner of an intersection at the end of the parade route where there was a big outdoor party going on. However, across the intersection from us was big apartment building which carried our voices OVER Traffic and bounced them CLEARLY into the party and crowds - I checked it myself!

(is anyone else having log on problems?)
Where I preach is a club district. There is a noise ordinance, but during the weekends it is a lot higher. There is nothing like lifting my voice alone like a trumpet! It seems like you can put awhole lot more into it. I'm just positive that ,if I can without police problems, use an amp more people could hear the gospel.

Police seem to be a bit more lenient when you're using an amp to do the "Good Tests" from WOTM.

I love using amplification, you can really save your voice and hecklers won't overpower you (usually).
A Fender P-10 is probably the best and fairly affordable amp set up. It is light weight and you can get wireless hookups for it which is very handy. As far as a heckler's mic.... I would say, just set up a little spot for hecklers (sometimes I outline a sidewalk square) to keep the crowd orderly (if you can). And just tell them to yell really loud their questions. That seems to help draw a crowd as well. For some reason angry sinners love to destroy other people's property... I don't know how long your heckler's mic would last if you're not a cream puff pie preacher! LOL
Those are my thoughts anyway.
