On the Open Air Outreach bulletin board owned by Jesse Morrell, a self professed former drug dealer, Lewis is a group administrator and feels that it is ok to threaten and call names as long as one gets the message across. Many of the people who post on the board have the mindset of the Army of God, the christofascist terrorist cell that bomber Eric Rudolph belonged to. Miles Lewis stated that he plans to make his agenda a permanent part of the Syracuse scene.

Why have headlines when you have pictures like this? The one in the blue suit with "Idiot" being pointed at him is a guy named Miles Lewis. He is one of those far Christian Reich scumbags that like to use the Word of God to harass people on the street with the audacity of calling it "street preaching". Well, when the "street preaching" involves telling Josh Hoyt that Hitler wasn't so bad, that brings us into the picture. Lewis was doing his street preaching in SUNY Oswego in Syracuse as part of the "Day of Truth" called by Repent America as a response to the LGBT community's National Day of Silence to draw attention to crimes and discrimination towards that community. This of course is part of the spring season: flowers blooming, birds singing, christofascists hatin' on gays on our campuses. The only difference - and you can be sure of this - is that eventually the christofascists will stop. By One People's Project SYRACUSE, NY-Open Air Outreach, a locally and religious-based hate group, made a stop at Oswego State University April 26 in response to National Day of Silence, a national youth movement protesting what lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people see as silence on the harassment, prejudice, and discrimination. The group was bought to town by local rep Miles Lewis of the Chesire, CT-based Open Air Outreach. Lewis decided to spend his Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at Oswego State preaching his particular brand of hate which condemns Homosexuals, Muslims, Jews, Buddhists, Hindus and Roman Catholics to eternal damnation. Those familiar with Lewis say this is the standard fare with his group. Like bonehead rallies, Lewis and his followers hid behind the first amendment and the police as they managed to draw an opposing crowd of about 100 people who invited him to leave the campus. Cooler heads prevailed however, when a group of Christians opposed to the stances of Open Air Outreach appeared with signs saying "God loves all" and "Hate Kills" on them. They also drowned out Lewis' hate speech with gospel songs and some preaching of their own. By Friday the local Antifa had set up a table to counter them. Open Air Outreach's outing came just a few days after the Philadelphia-based hate group Repent America came to town on what they called a "pro-life tour". They and local christofascists such as Open Air Outreach have supported several fake abortion clinics in the area. These "clinics" which bill themselves as crisis pregnancy centers often operate by having girls come in, showing them tapes of botched abortions, then threatening and lying to them about their options. Most of these groups are not openly connected with any established Church groups, however. Repent America called for April 26 to be a "Day of Truth" where their supporters will go to high schools and colleges to hold rallies. Its leader Michael Marcavage was in Syracuse that day at an inner city high school holding large signs of aborted fetuses while Lewis was at SUNY.

My what an objective piece of journalism. *whew* give me a break. There's a big difference between internet journalism and others. Internet people can say whatever they want objectionably, or unobjectionably as they want. You think you messages are seen as objectionable? Well, these people see you as your polar opposite, what do you expect they're going to say about you? Sadly their hatred of hate causes them to hate themselves, cause they just spur more hatred Are you saying you should be objective on sinners? Also hate speech begets hate speech, you think that wouldn't be a surprise by now. They're selling a message just as you guys are. I think its sad that opposing parties misquote though... but talking back to those that speak out is not a sin (obscuring the truth is though and I pray that they discontinue), and it is in their right. Plus I googled your name [Miles] and didn't see this article.

I googled my name along with the word "preacher" or "preaching". Not too many interesting things really... Now if you google Jesse Morrell, lots of interesting things.
I understand people can say just about whatever they want. To say that I said Hitler was not so bad borders on slander. But I rejoice. Jesus said blessed are you when men shall persecute you, revile you, and say all manner of evil against you falsely for name sake, for so did they of the prophets before you, rejoice and be exceeding glad for great is your reward in heaven.
"Sadly their hatred of hate causes them to hate themselves, cause they just spur more hatred"
That's a good one.
justaman, were you at the BASIC meeting last night?
Miles

My what an objective piece of journalism. *whew* give me a break. Ya, please do not even compare that to REAL journalism. It's the same thing with blogs and citizen journalism. Don't tell me you actually consider blogs real journalism??? It would be like someone coming to this Web site and saying "God, they really are biased." Not the best anaolgy, but DUH. They have an agenda they're working towards.

That's fine. It's hard to grasp sarcasm and satire sometimes when it's written - especially on the internet. I'm not a habitually sarcastic person. I just thought that article deserved it. hah.

Miles, my husband and I really enjoyed listening to your preaching at GMU.You are very direct in your preaching but when I was that age I would have needed that.I also noticed on the Oswego websight the only person complaining for the most part was whoever wrote that article.I didn't see any complaints on the other forums. The important thing is that they know their is a solution to their problem and you presented that. You guys rock!!!

Sweatie, that's not an Oswego Web site. Trust me when I say, we complained. A LOT. Heck, I've been doing that for the last few days on this forum!! Few people didn't complain. I do agree though that Oz does need some help with it's party school reputation. We do have some great potential here.

They said that these teachers have been shoving their view points into us, however this is not the case. People can express their viewpoints freely in controversial classes. These men offered no opportunity for people to ask questions, because they fear the truth of them will be exposed... they chose the wrong college. As you can see by the hit count on their gallery we know of their fraud... and we shall spread the word onto other colleges to be weary of the wolves in sheeps clothing.

Have you even been to any of our meetings? We answered questions for hours upon hours. The entire meeting primarily is question and answer between the preacher and the crowd except if the preacher is telling a story like his testimony.

I do know that in crowd mentality you were forced to sometime shell up, however: I asked Miles on the second day, politely, if I could share a story with the crowd. The first question he asked: "Are you a Christian?"
I did stay for a long time during the third day and watched you huddle against your bible as a lesbian gave you a piece of her mind. Two Basic members trying to lead you from the darkness on both sides. However as soon as the TV 5 camera arrived you moved to the side and said: "The media eats this stuff up... too bad they couldn't have come during the mobs earlier." Then you did your interveiw, even though Miles did all the work and continued to.
Even more sir... what is this board called?
Now I ask you again sir, with God as your witness, did you not say these things?
I Google your name and I get 7 straight pages of stuff... I do so with Miles, and I don't get anything till page 7.
I do believe Miles is a good man, he shook my hand, offered me a smoothy though I rivaled him out there on the quad, as I offered him water because he was talking loudly for hours. You didn't seem interested at all in shaking my hand.
You have lied to your followers saying you wept for our sins following the gathering of Day 1: As the 59th picture of our gallery clearly shows a look of hellish glee. Notice how it has more hits then any other? Oh yeah, we know...
Weather your followers one day see through you I don't care, Miles you don't have to spur controversy to have your message heard, you had some interesting arguments to evolutionary theory. Please see that the roots are sprouting some ugly fruits.
Repent!

Justaman, you are just like your Father the devil. You twist and manipulate to accuse the brethren. You are much like the Pharisees in the New Testament.
ps. I did offer to buy that lesbian a smoothie after I told her how Christ could set the captives free.

the media only covers that b/c that's what the people want. It's sad, but true. Many newspapers (online and print) have tried to only cover "happy" news, but they did not get the readership they needed to survive.

I appreciate the encouragement. I emailed the guy who made the video of GMU. I hope to be able to get all 30 minutes of the footage that we could then load onto the website. We are usually very direct, I too wish someone had been that direct with me when I was a hypocrite and lost. I needed a startling with the scriptures. Lots of people at Oswego didn't like us, but there were plenty who were really touched and impacted by the messege as I have heard first hand testimonies. Especially because this is near my home town, I have a real heart for this campus. I hope in the future to make a lasting impact with some regular ministering on campus.

I'm sorry that I got all angry Jesse, but you must understand that I cannot accept you as a soldier of God, especially since you attacked when some of your opposition when they were defenseless, it would be the equivelent in my mind of holding a KKK rally on Martin Luther King day. I would pick up a history book... look at the messages of FDR, and how Hitler rose to power, and make a descision on what you're trying to do of the diversity of this country. Stop taking advantage of peoples fears, the only reason you're angry at me is cause I'm just as evangelistic as you, but guess whose fault it is? Yours... For I was a quiet kid who just went about his business until you came.
Thank you for showing me my path, to make sure you don't cause our siblings their own downfall, prepare for some really quiet rallies. How do you know that the devil didn't cause AIDS so that we would persecute gays? Spread fear that His wrath would take our loved ones? This is a test of our unity sir. And we will stand strong and compassionate together, even if you don't wish us to. And if heaven only has those like you, then I'm out, and the bet that your wrong is one I'm willing to take. (You still didn't mention that grin for the camera after persecuting 'sinners')
You want attension, and it was a mistake to waste my time and give you mine. Like a demon you're not curing me, but making me more sick with the falsity of making me better. Good luck, we ran from the Theocracy in Europe for a reason, and we made out well so far. My final words for you to contemplate are that of "Good Old USA" #8, and as you gain more and more coverts, and hate crimes rise, ask yourself, historically speaking, are you truly fighting for Him? Or slowly making us the demon we have fought in the past?

Are you talking about preaching on the day of silence? I didn't preach open air at all during the day of silence, Miles did. Miles preached the entire day while I was able to have some pleasant, and not so pleasant, one2ones. But Miles message as a whole wasn't even targeted against homosexuality only. It was a message against all sin. Not to mention, we didn't "plan our attack" for the day of silence. For the past 4 months we have preached Monday-Friday on Universities all over!
And that picture you keep referring too is a silly picture. I simply tried on Miles hat and took a picture of myself to see what it looked like. The "grin" or "smile" was because I was wearing a funny hat, not because of the reactions we got in the open air.
I know love hopes all things. But it sure seems like your taking situations and making them look like the worst.

Not planned... yet you said "Day of Silence turned Day of Reconing" on your board, even if you didn't plan it, still in poor taste.
I'm glad you have shown this country the issues they need to address... because one day their will be seven like yourself, whose motives people will pray for. And they will have a hidden agenda. I question all prophets, and teachers. It is my job as an American.

It was, "Day of Silence turn Day of Rebuking". If there is ever a day that homosexuality needs to be rebuked it's on the day of silence.
