I admit that I am not very fond of Ruebens site. If I could, I would re-design it and make him a better one.
But what I am fond of, is the truth that I have personally heard him preach. I have never seen him use a banner that wasn't biblical, or preach a message that wasn't biblical.
But I too admit that his website could use some work.
That site is an extension of his heart, as we know.
Your site (not Forum) is an extension of your heart.
My site...same.
Eli's....same.
So what you see on Ruben's site is what's in the man's heart; a hatred for homosexuals; not the Love of God.
If that is the Love of God, take it; no one else wants it.
I want the Love of God that sent Jesus to die for me while I was yet a sinner.
Sorry that I have been off the boards for a couple of days. I sort of come and go. Lots going on in my life these days.
Dan, you seem very sincere in what you believe, and I did watch that clip from the other thread. I am very convinced that you want to do the correct and biblical thing. Remember, all I did was ask you a couple of sincere questions about sin. If you have a problem with Micah and Ruben, take it up with them. Why do you accuse me as false? Do you have any proof? You have tossed out a lot of accusations which I see as unfounded. Again, we can discuss it if you want to. PM me and I will reply.
Now, as far as I am concerned, I do not agree with every single thing on Ruben's site. Nor do I agree with every single thing I read on this forum, let alone the internet.
But, I want to reiterate what I said earlier: I know Ruben personally, and he is a man of God. He has always been a source of encouragement to me and my wife, and a great leader at some of the bigger events I have had a chance to preach at.
I would suggest that those of you who are offended by his website not go there. If sin offends you, then don't look. His boldness to confront the single-most devastating sin in today's world will always whip people into a controversial frenzy.
BTW, Dan, isn't this your quote on Ruben's site
"Hey Ruben, ICM Open Air Outreach LOVES your site!"?Now, If you feel you must bring correction, then you are admonished by me to do just that. I would caution you to use scripture as your basis for rebuke. Galatians 6:1 would be a good place to start. His e-mail address is posted on his site.
It is my sincere desire to glorify God in all that
I do. I am not responsible for Micah, or Dan, Ruben, or Jesse, or anyone else on this board. But, if I am accused falsely, then I will defend myself scripturally. For example:
Psalm 15:1-5 LORD, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill? He that [glow=red,2,300]walketh[/glow] uprightly, and [glow=red,2,300]worketh[/glow] righteousness, and [glow=red,2,300]speaketh[/glow] the truth in his heart.
He that backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbour, nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour. In whose eyes a vile person is contemned (
despised); but he honoureth them that fear the LORD. He that sweareth to his own hurt, and changeth not. He that putteth not out his money to usury, nor taketh reward against the innocent. He that doeth these things shall never be moved.
Now, we see that God makes the rules for entry into His holiness. Not us. So, here I see a direct contrast between this holiness and sinful wickedness. It even goes so far as saying we are to despise the vile ones. And of course we have all seen Psalms 5 and 11. We also read of God loving Jacob, and hating Esau.
Now, either I have a scizophrenic God, or maybe I have to get some glasses or something! Is this God of the Bible loving and hating at the same time?
Of course God loves, but we must also temper that with the rest of scripture. Man's disobedience will bring eternal judgement, and God does not love those who hate Him. He showed His love by providing a way of escape from sin, and entry into His glory, but those who refuse are destined to hellfire. These people are children of disobedience, and God's wrath is upon them. Wrath is also known as intense anger, and even hatred:
Jhn 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the
wrath of God abideth on him.
Rom 1:18 For the
wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;
Eph 5:6 Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the
wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.
Col 3:6 For which things' sake the
wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:
Rev 14:10 The same shall drink of the wine of the
wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:
Rev 14:19 And the angel thrust in his sickle into the earth, and gathered the vine of the earth, and cast [it] into the great winepress of the
wrath of God.
Rev 15:1 And I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvellous, seven angels having the seven last plagues; for in them is filled up the
wrath of God.
Rev 15:7 And one of the four beasts gave unto the seven angels seven golden vials full of the
wrath of God, who liveth for ever and ever.
Rev 16:1 And I heard a great voice out of the temple saying to the seven angels, Go your ways, and pour out the vials of the
wrath of God upon the earth.
Of course Jesus died for us when we were dead in our trespasses and sin, but at the same time we were, according to Romans 2:5 - treasur(ing) up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God...
We were storing up wrath....God's wrath. His RIGHTEOUS judgement, not man's permissive and doctrinally unsound judgement.........
2Th 1:8 In flaming fire taking
vengeance on them that know not God, and that
obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:
I am convinced that those who claim to preach and love and obey God, but continue in blatant sin and disobedience, are only fooling themselves.
All those who oppose God and scripture will not gain entrance to His glory. Not in this life, nor in the next one.
Hate me if you choose. I only speak the truth in love.
Gotta go!
