Ok, lets see what the Bible says... Indeed, let's see. No, but Gandhi is perhaps the most Jesus-like person to have existed. I'm not sure that anyone can know him to a full extent. He is one of my favorite people, though. I wish more people were like him, like Gandhi and King, too. Not sure what this one means, sorry. Which ones would those be? Will you ever agree to look without your presuppositions (such as Biblical infallibility, among other things)? Yes, I do know it. I think you'd be surprised as to how much of the Bible I have read (most, if not all, of it) for a "heathen." hallow v. 1. To make or set apart as holy. 2. To respect or honor greatly; revere. First off, we were comparing Gandhi with Jesus, not with the "father." Besides which, Gandhi's name is hallowed. It is revered and honored greatly. He was set apart from his fellows, that was why he was successful. Or in the rapture, perhaps? Or in the world? Could you clarify how you know it is a person's heart that is meant here? I personally think that if there is a God, Gandhi definitely did God's will. How do you know that the angles do (what about those angles that are greater than 180 degrees)? Just kidding. Anyway, what about Lucifer/Satan or whatever you chaps call him? Man lives not by bread alone, but Jesus (love) is the bread of life. Therefore you are asking God for love. Gandhi definitely loved. That is correct, and you have said nothing here that even attempts to change that opinion. Therefore there is really nothing to say here. So it is usually God that leads people into temptation? Otherwise why would people ask God not to do so? Sort of implies that God has done it before. What is about submission? You worship based on your conduct. What does that mean, exactly, I'm afraid I don't follow you.

Otherwise why would people ask God not to do so? Sort of implies that God has done it before. What is about submission? You worship based on your conduct. What does that mean, exactly, I'm afraid I don't follow you. Well first off Jesus is god in the flesh.John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God. Read on on your own...for now skip down to verse 14: And the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us (and we behold His glory, the glory of the only begotten of the father) full of grace and truth. Psalms 99:5 Exalt ye the LORD our God, and worship at his footstool; for he is holy. 1 Samuel 2:1-10 1 And Hannah prayed, and said, My heart rejoiceth in the LORD, mine horn is exalted in the LORD: my mouth is enlarged over mine enemies; because I rejoice in thy salvation. 2 There is none holy as the LORD: for there is none beside thee: neither is there any rock like our God. Jesus ain't like Ghandi... Jesus is the bread of life. Meaning that we need Him more than food. I can post other verses on that. Life "eternal life". His kingdon is in the heart....

Yes, I supported the Vietnam war because we were fighting Communism. I didn't support the way we fought it. Now however, as you can see, the communists are teaching on our state college campuses. Well, I suppose I could argue in a similar vein. I opposed Saddam's regime, but I don't support the way America opposed it (war). I also have no problem with communists teaching at universities. Nor do I have a problem with other groups (such as Christians) teaching there. The only time I would have a problem is if said affiliation interfered with the course material (e.g. a communist teaching economics, a fundamentalist teaching biology). No, you didn't say anything nasty. I was referring to the characters in the film. You apologized for their vocabulary, I told you not to apologize, because those words are accurate portrayals of the feelings of soldiers in battle. You should apologize for supporting conditions that would make people say things like that. That is what I was saying. Sorry for the confusion. Perhaps I owe you an apology. I believe you have misinterpreted my intentions. I am not trying to be mean, I am trying to help you. I explain this better in the FSM thread. Maybe you should ask brother Jed about communists teaching on campus. read the intro.. www.gospeltruth.net/whowillriseup.htm

To all of you who say that wanting rights is wrong for people who are gay, I have a few questions for you:
What if you lived in a world where being heterosexual was considered wrong? What if you were not allowed to marry, have sex, or be treated with dignity because of something you cannot control? Think about how you would feel, knowing that you were simply doing what came natural to you.
I assume you would feel victimized, angry, and discriminated against. Some of you might think that what you are doing is wrong, because people tell you it is wrong. Some of you might feel guilty for being heterosexual. But that's ludicrous.
Those feelings are exactly how homosexual people feel when people tell them that they cannot have the right to choose their own livelihoods.

Put on Christ...

Why did you ignore everything I said? Why does everyone around here only answer with Biblical verses? Can't you use the brain God gave you to THINK about why you believe something, to make sure it is right?

Can't you use the brain God gave you to THINK about why you believe something, to make sure it is right? We are to live by EVERY SINGLE WORD OF GOD. Agreed. But God gave you a brain--when you cannot use your brain because all you can do is answer everything with a Biblical quote, something is very wrong. God helps those that help themselves, remember? And I would like you to look for the original Hebrew and Greek translations of the Bible...see what they say on the subject of homosexuality. And what I was talking about anyway wasn't about homosexuality and its alleged sin, but rather how some Christians want to rob homosexuals of their rights. History tells us that in the earliest years of the church homosexuals were married just like heterosexuals. Hm. Odd. Why, if the Bible says it's a sin? Unless the Bible was manipulated....

You know, I've already posted the Biblical definition of Sodomy, to which I have recieved no response.
If you need a refresher course, read Ezekiel 16.

[ And I would like you to look for the original Hebrew and Greek translations of the Bible...see what they say on the subject of homosexuality. I've said the same thing, but since we don't have that they still stick to the inaccurate Bible. Out-of-date Bibles is IN this year ... and next year and the year after that ...

funny thing. the language of the 'bible' has evolved centuries before making its niche as modern hebrew...or even a classical study of greek.
so, if language evolves...words, and meanings of words, change...this means sacred texts are without a doubt fallible documents used by powerful idiots to control lesser idiots.

Ach, word evolution! That's another good argument. I can't believe I forgot about that. Did a lil paper on it! Yay, more ammo.
