Eric,
Your points are not just wonderful, they are Biblical! They cut this arrogant doctrine to the ground from which it came! The groud of HUMAN SUPPOSITION and HUMAN THEOLOGY!
Man cannot chnage God! That is a PROUD, PROUD, PROUD notion! It elevates man above God and says that "MAN KNOWS BEST."
This doctrine Open Theology (Deism) was created by the devil for one specific purpose, to elevate man's ideas above the prophetic truths of God's word! The devil hates Bible prophecy! He hates it!
If the devil can get "Proud" sinners to think that they can change God, then they will look to SELF for power, they will look for SELF ESTEEM for all things that they do! Self will be the all absorbing desire of thier life! They will pray for self! THey will think about self! They will work for SELF! SELF SELF SELF! Open Theism (Deism) is a SELF made gospel that allows you to live life like you like while thinking you are in God's favor and thinking you have power to change your future and power to change God Himself! It makes man a god!
If you study occult or New Age doctrine, this is their whole PREMISE from which they sell their dirty secrets! Open Theism (Deism) is occult New Age philosophy!
Open Theism (deism) has nothing to do with Bible Christianity!

Jesus Christ had a will and it was yielded to God (His Father) from the time He could make intelligent decisions to yield it to His Father! So you agree that Jesus has his own will and he chose to yield his will to the Father. What about the other way around? Could Jesus ever say something to the Father to make him change his mind?

I don't like the terms “touching God’s heart” or “God is influenced by the prayer of a righteous”. It is still man centered. That is why I took man out of the picture in our discussion so we can see if God can be influenced or "touched" by the other persons in the Trinity. Your system of theology says no. Jesus has told us that ONLY ONE IS GOOD. When He taught us to pray with faith and perseverance , He told the story of the woman who had to deal with a bad judge, and finally the judge granted the woman justice because she bothered and annoyed him. How much more the Father who is good will grant promptly justice to his sons and daughters who cry to him day and night. It is a great teaching which says firstly that God is Good. And if He is good and ready to grant promptly to His children , how can we think that God ‘ s heart has to be touched or changed or soften or whatever !?! Only hard hearts have to be touched , or soften , or broken , and it’s certainly not God who needs to be touched so to grant answers to prayers !!!! The ability to be influenced or have your heart touched my someone else does not require that your heart be evil first. If I write a love poem to my wife, that will touch her heart. But that doesn't mean her heart was hard and my poem softened it. It just mean that my expression of love brought her great joy. Do you think the Son could write a poem to the Father that would touch his heart? God Can Choose Between Multiple Righteous EndsYou see, you have this false assumption that God cannot make choices. You believe God can only choose one thing. Anything other than that one thing is evil. But that is not true. Just like we can choose Burger King or McDonalds and either choice would be perfectly righteous, God can choose between multiple righteous things as well. When God created the animals, did he have to put spots on the leopard? Could he have chosen to create the leopard without spots? Would a leopard without spots be evil? Could God the Father have possibly asked the Son, "Do you think I should put spots on the leopard or not?" If the Son suggested spots for the leopard and the Father took his advice, would that make God evil? Do you believe that God had to save sinners? Or could he have justly chosen to send us all to hell for the sins we've committed? It is just for God to send wicked sinners to hell. It is also just for God to have mercy. God has a choice, but Closed Theists believe he doesn't.
