Just to make a note. Please correct me if I am wrong. But the reason that Jesus rebuked the Pharisees were not that they were preaching holiness. But the fact that they were hypocrites. He even told the disciples not to do as the Pharisees does but to do as they say.

Just watched the video you posted on Moral Perfection. This is good. Just yesterday I attended a service really to hear an older elder minister about what is happening recently in these perilous times. But right before he spoke, a young minister got behind the pulpit and preached against MORAL PERFECTION. He argued that fact that these who preached HOLINESS of Christians were like the Pharisee that Jesus rebuked. He actually got very worked up during this time. He was looking right at me. WHY?
Well just a few months ago, sitting right in his living room having BIBLE study, I gave a teaching that not only did God expect us to be perfect, but that we are able to lead a perfect HOLY life. I taught them that a sinner is devoted to sin, but a saint is devoted to HOLINESS.
He preached that we are all sinners, and it is evil to say that we must live a holy life without sinning.
I am glad to see these videos. Maybe next time I meet him, I may have learned more to refute this. He actually made me look like I was the bad guy. OR the SINNER that GOD was angry with.

Proverbs 31:10, "Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies."
I want to commend ya'll on the stance you take on the FAITH. It is very rare these days to find women who live according to how God has ordained them to do so in HIS WORD.
After reading posts of you 2 I am proud to call you my sisters. I believe the True church has not recognized the virtuous woman as her due.
Not like the worldly churches have lifted women in a way that is sinful and evil. But in a way that shows your humbleness in following Christ as dear faithful Saints should present themselves before the LORD.
Your faithfulness will cause God's virtue to move mightily in the STORMS coming our way soon. Please keep the faith.
GOD BLESS YOU 2 women.

Going to agree with Mann on this. As angry as people get when you street preachers do your thing, it is incredibly stupid to try on a guy with nukes. LOL ;D

OK found this about his religious background. Guess I was wrong about him being catholic. The Religious Affiliation of U.S. President Ronald Reagan Ronald Reagan identified himself as a Presbyterian during most of his adult life. Reagan's father was a nominal Catholic. Reagan's mother was a devout member of the Disciples of Christ and Ronald Reagan was raised in the denomination. Reagan attended Eureka College, which is affiliated with that denomination. Reagan himself was a Presbyterian as an adult. Reagan said that in temperment and religious beliefs he took after his mother. (Source: members.aol.com/_ht_a/willricci/reagan/)From: "Ronald Reagan Facts" page on the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation & Library website (http://www.reaganfoundation.org/programs/lc/reagan_facts.asp): Although raised in his mother's Disciples of Christ denomination, beginning in 1963 Reagan generally attended Presbyterian church services at Bel-Air Presbyterian Church, Bel-Air, California. He became an official member of Bel-Air Presbyterian after leaving the Presidency. In addition, Reagan stated that he considered himself a "born-again Christian."

I thought this was interesting to read. I never heard this before. I think Ronald Regan was Roman Catholic, I believe.
It seems if he was bold enough to approach the leader of Russia (Soviet Union) like this, with his religion, that we aught to approach others boldly with the TRUTH.
Just found it interesting to read. I thought someone here may find it interesting also.
Reagan tried to convert Gorbachev to Christianity
* Font Size: Decrease Increase * Print Page: Print
Caroline Overington | March 09, 2009 Article from: The Australian
FORMER US president Ronald Reagan tried to convert Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev to Christianity in an effort to end the Cold War.
The claim appears in a new biography of Reagan, The Rebellion of Ronald Reagan: A History of the Cold War by James Mann, an extract from which appeared in The Wall Street Journal yesterday.
Mann relies on recently declassified notes by aides who were present at meetings between Mr Gorbachev and Reagan. He says Reagan expressed dismay that his own son, Ron, did not believe in God.
Apparently embarrassed, or perhaps uninterested, Mr Gorbachev tried to change the topic.
Mann says Reagan met Mr Gorbachev several times in the company of senior aides before he tried, during his first "one on one" with the then Soviet leader, to convince him of the existence of God.
Mann says it was a "bold but questionable endeavour well beyond his mandate as president of the United States".
Notes of the meeting were taken by two Reagan aides. Those notes are now declassified, and stored at the Reagan Library in Simi Valley, California.
The Reagan-Gorbachev summits, designed to bring an end to the Cold War, took place between 1985 and 1988. According to Mann, Reagan noted Mr Gorbachev's use of the words "God bless" and wondered whether they were an expression of religious faith.
Mann says that when Reagan raised the issue of God with Mr Gorbachev, he promised the Soviet leader he would never admit that the conversation took place.
According to the notes, Mr Gorbachev told Reagan that "he, himself, had been baptised, but he was not now a believer, and that reflected a certain evolution of Soviet society".
The US president told one of his trademark stories about the widow of a young World War II soldier, who "was lying in a shell hole at midnight, awaiting an order to attack".
"He had never been a believer, because he had been told God did not exist," Reagan said. "But as he looked up at the stars he voiced a prayer hoping that, if he died in battle, God would accept him. That piece of paper was found on the body of a young Russian soldier who was killed in that battle."
Mann says Mr Gorbachev "tried to switch the subject" to greater co-operation in space, "but the president wasn't to be diverted".
Mann writes: "According to the transcript, Reagan told Mr Gorbachev that space was in the direction of heaven, but not as close to heaven as some other things that they had been discussing."
He told the Soviet leader that his own son, Ron, did not believe in God and "there was one thing he had long yearned to do for his atheist son: he wanted to serve his son the perfect gourmet dinner, to have him enjoy the meal, and then to ask him if he believed there was a cook."
Rudolf Perina, who was then the director of Soviet affairs on the National Security Council, told Mann in a 2005 interview that "Reagan thought he could convert Mr Gorbachev, or make him see the light".
A second note-taker, Thomas Simons, said he viewed Reagan's promotion of religion as a tactic to deflect Mr Gorbachev away from discussion of other substantive issues.
The attempt by a US president to convert a foreign leader was not unprecedented.
According to Mann, nine years earlier, Reagan's predecessor Jimmy Carter had stunned his aides when he asked the South Korean dictator Park Chung-hee about his religious beliefs and then told Park: "I would like you to know about Christ."

I understand. Do you believe the pastor was instrumental in helping to bring you to that place in your life or was this just something that happen over time and he just happened to be there? No, like I said, I was just saved 3 days prior. I attended the church maybe 3 times. The third time I went to altar. I believe what it was that for 2 years I read the Bible and studied it after being challenged by one of my young workers to show me that the catholic religion was not of God. So I believe that after reading the Bible for this time, and feeling an urge from God Himself to surrender to HIM was what brought me to that place. NO MAN CAN BE DRAWN EXCEPT GOD HIMSELF DRAW THAT MAN. And that is what HE did with me. I did not want anything but HIM at that point. And then when I knelt at that altar, just confessing to HIM all my sins and asking for HIS forgiveness, I felt such a POWER like never before. For the first time in all my life, I knew right then and there HE WAS REAL and wanted me to be part of HIS KINGDOM. So that too brought me to that place of surrender to all HE had for me. Of course the Pastor sure did preach a great salvation message that nite. I guess, really do not remember; I knew I wanted GOD before I even went to that Church, just from reading the BIBLE and studying it.

Thanks for finding this thread, Rhema seeker, and resurrecting it. I guess if i would have looked harder, then i wouldn't have started my thread. Amen, thanks Rhema. I was just wondering if you could tell me what it was exactly that caused this change over you that brought you to the place of recieving the infilling of the holy spirit? I wanted all that God had for me, at all expense. Whatever God wanted of me, I was HIS without reserve. I was to that place of total surrender and that I was totally open to what ever HE had for me. The next day, after receiving the Baptism, I spoke to the Pastor, and he began to teach me in the WORD all about this. So I believe at that point it was a humble heart in receiving from God that Wonderful Gift. At any point I believe I could have thought it was not of God or of the devil, I believe I would not have received it. I hope you understand what I am saying? I don't know if I am explaining it correctly.

My message for tomorrow is to be on 2 Peter 3:9-12, worked on it all week. Sometimes you wonder why the Holy Spirit calls you to preach on a certain subject, and then.... it all fits together. I was not saying that these tragedies cannot happen, I was saying, we are not suppose to predict them. Not that any of us are. But, I would not worry about it. Lets just "Preach The Word" Until we hear the trumpets! For one to proclaim a new revelation of God and then that revelation does not come true, that would make them a false prophet! And we know how that is to work out. Sleep well tonight Brothers and Sisters and see ya in church tomorrow! May God's grace be with us all. I don't know if we can say this is a new revelation. The Bible surely talks about the devastation that will occur during the last days. We do have a gift that God has given to the church which is the gift of Prophesy. I believe this is to profit and edify the Church as the ohter gifts. 1 Corinthians 12:4-7, "Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all. But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal." A few years ago, I had a number of dreams, right before Hurricane Katrina Hit. I mean about 2 weeks before. The dreams showed hundred of thugs walking down main street of our city breaking into homes and doing all sorts of crime. I just knew these dreams were spiritual. I told the congregation about them and warned them that the city was about to see an increase in crime. Well, 2 weeks later, the hurricane hit and many from New Orleans and the south moved into the city. And our crime rate began to increase drastically. I even posted the dreams on youtube. Now, it has gotten so bad, that the that just this past week, started on March 1, 2009, the Mayor of Ville Platte has issued a citywide curfew from 10 pm to 5 am. Before then, it was seldom that you heard of break ins. Now it is a common thing. What did it do for the Church? Well, to this day they remind me about it and how they feel it was encouraging to them how God is watching on their behalf and warns them ahead for the things to come. I never had a dream like that before or after. So far, a one time thing. But I know that some can go overboard on dreams, visions, and prophesies. But we cannot exclude them all.

Revelation 8:7-13, "The first angel sounded, and there followed hail and fire mingled with blood, and they were cast upon the earth: and the third part of trees was burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up. And the second angel sounded, and as it were a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea: and the third part of the sea became blood; And the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died; and the third part of the ships were destroyed. And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters; And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter. And the fourth angel sounded, and the third part of the sun was smitten, and the third part of the moon, and the third part of the stars; so as the third part of them was darkened, and the day shone not for a third part of it, and the night likewise. And I beheld, and heard an angel flying through the midst of heaven, saying with a loud voice, Woe, woe, woe, to the inhabiters of the earth by reason of the other voices of the trumpet of the three angels, which are yet to sound!"

NEW YORK POST
By CLEMENTE LISI
Posted: 4:00 pm March 2, 2009
Talk about a near miss!
A 200-foot wide asteroid zoomed past Earth today at an altitude of 40,000 miles - swerving far enough from our planet to avoid total destruction, officials said.
Dubbed 2009 DD45, the large rock was discovered only Friday by Australian astronomers.
The enormous asteroid narrowly avoided a collision with Earth at 8:44 EST, officials said.
Although 40,000 miles sounds like a safe distance, it's only about one-seventh of the way to the moon and less than twice as far out as most satellites, astronomers said.
Had 2009 DD45 slammed down onto the Earth, it would have exploded with the force of a large nuclear blast somewhere in the Pacific Ocean west of Tahiti.
Astronomers said the asteroid is likely to return for another series of near misses since it's somehow drawn in by our planet's gravity.
Peter Brown, an astronomer at the University of Western Ontario in Canada, said the last rock "as large or larger than this to come this close was in 1973 and the next time will be in 2029 when Apophis makes its close approach."
Apophis initially caused some concern among scientists when its plotted course revealed it to be on a collision trajectory with Earth, but further investigations have since shown it will pass harmlessly by.

Deuteronomy 13:1-3, "If there arise among you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and giveth thee a sign or a wonder, And the sign or the wonder come to pass, whereof he spake unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods, which thou hast not known, and let us serve them; Thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams: for the LORD your God proveth you, to know whether ye love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul."

Any time I hear of anyone, especially a Christian, giving a exact prediction of mass devastation, I cringe. We must not, add to or take away from the Word of God. We have had the entire Word of God for a long time now. This always comes back to bite the person making the prediction in the end. If it is God's will to destroy cities, then it is His will. These things are not for us to know. This got me thinking does anyone know how in the OT that believers knew a true prophet from a false? Did they only know if the prophecy did not come to pass? The Word of God talks about false prophets in the OT. Warns people that even though some may prophesy things that do come to pass, if it goes against HIS covenant, they are still a false prophet. I am looking for that scripture.

What I am gathering from the message is that something big is gonna happen. I don't believe he is saying that the vision he seen 10 years ago is that. It could be a crash in the stock market. To tell you the truth as I watched the market Thursday, I thought for sure it was going to drop down to a crash as did in 1929 on Black Tuesday.
A few days ago, I felt something like an asteroid was going to hit us. I remember asking the LORD if this was going to be the next catastrophe. The very next day, I read about how this enormous asteroid just miss hitting the earth. It could be a number of things. Lets keep close to Christ and wait and see.
I know David Wilkerson is not one to prophesy fluently at the throw of a hat. He is not like that. He very seldom gives a prophetic warning. He actually does not call himself a prophet anyway.

Got a bit in the bible about beware false prophets as well. There have been people predicting the end of the world for ages, smaller calamities as well. I don't believe this guy is correct because someone will have to do something royally stupid to anger enough people to get New York rioting. However, human stupidity is the only limitless force in this world I've observed and I'm willing to believe Mr. Wilkerson may be on to something. Instead of quoting at me Rhema, and ignoring me Rebecca, give me a max time limit for his beliefs to come into play. Well, I guess we have to wait and see, don't we ?

Run from anything that makes loving your neigbor not a priority! It's a deception. They will encourage you to love God but they don't love each other. If they don;t love each other than they do not love God! A little leaven leavens the whole lump. A little poison will delude you. I encourage you to hear what I am saying and run from it! It's another gospel! The one thing I see though, is that people get confused what Godly love is and what fleshly love is. Godly love is to seek God with all heart for the salvation of a lost one. Even if it means offending that person in the state that they are in. Fleshly love is to overlook their sin and tell them God accepts them as they are. This is the confusion amongst many sinners and Christians alike. 2 John 1:5-6, "And now I beseech thee, lady, not as though I wrote a new commandment unto thee, but that which we had from the beginning, that we love one another. And this is love, that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it."

I just called a dear brother of mine and told him, he stated that the elder of his church which my elder also; who has a prophetic calling told him that it was urgent that he speak to the church tomorrow morning. He knew nothing about David Wilkerson's message and he said he want to warn the church that something is about to take place. For the church to put aside food and drinks for a catastrophe.
Is it more than coincidence. I think not.

1 Peter 1:14-17, "As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance: But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy. And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man's work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear:"

Great. Doomsayers. After what amount of time would 'about' have passed and I can safely guess that Mr. Wilkerson was wrong? 2 Peter 3:2-9, "That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour: Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation. For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water: Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished: But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men. But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance."

Here is an old thread that I came across and was just interested in resurrecting it. I believe that the infilling of the Holy Ghost is the most importance as for the power in a witnesses, preachers, pastors, evangelists, teachers life. Without this infilling, I do not believe one should be in the field. It is then doing this work in the flesh and not in the SPIRIT.
I came to know Christ as my personal Saviour on June 12, 1994, at the altar of a Full Gospel Church. I did not receive the Infilling until 3 nights later at my home at midnight. This was verified by the speaking in tongues and afterwords a vision of a white dove coming over me. No one else was around but myself and my Lord. I was born and raised a roman catholic all my life until this point. I did not no anything about this infilling with speaking in tongues. I did not know anything about Azuzu street. (misspelled I am sure) . All I know is this wonderful Power came over me and changed my life forever differently. Different than salvation, but knowing it came from the same GOD.
I personally believe that speaking in tongues is the sign for the Baptism of the Holy Ghost. Why? Only because of what the scriptures teach us. No other sign is given in scripture for the initial Baptism.
Many will disagree here I know. Some will fight on this. But you will miss out on the greatest presence if you never allow HIM to fill you overflowing with HIS POWER of SPIRIT, with the evidence in speaking in tongues.
Rev. K, I was just wandering; I know since these posts you have had other changes in your life. I do respect you much, and believe that your heart is to do the will of God. But my question to you is have you changed your perception concerning this since posting your views in 2006?

FS,
The only reason I have spoken in such manner is that I really do fear you are in error. I actually do not blame you totally. I do blame the ministers who have lied to you concerning the gospel. Because of your stance on abortion. You saying you have had 2 abortions, and still you say that abortion is not a sin. Your attack on Palin, Bush and others, salvation. Your stance against open air preachers on this board, has convinced me that you are in error.
I really feel that by not rebuking you as I did would do you much injustice. Your stance on socialism is another issue. For years, old time ministers have preached against this, and here you are defending it.
I am afraid dearly that if you were to come before the judgment seat of God this day, you will not be found guiltless. Your posts that I read pricks me deep within every time I read them. I really hope you would seek the WORD of GOD with prayer and fasting concerning this matter.
I have never rebuked anyone as I have you FS. Not even open admitted sinners . The reason being is you profess Christianity and are in much error. And then you attack the things of God with such vigor, it astonishes me.
I was in fear before posting these rebukes to you. It took prayer and seeking God's Face. But I believe with all my heart, I did the right thing. My hands will be without blood on your day before the judgment seat.
My hope would be that you would follow Christ with all HOLINESS and TRUTH so you could be a great witness for our LORD. And that you would hear those WORD "enter in my good and faithful servant".

I am surely seeking the FACE of GOD for this. The only problem here is finding like minded people who has not been diseased by this false message of the SUGAR COATED GOSPEL. Or Catholicism which is the primary religion here. What strikes me even more so is how the Protestant churches here has accepted the catholic church as their brothers.
I am in the process of making video disc tracts and hitting the streets here. I have done so years ago in the past, and the truth be known after being rebuked by so called christian brothers for doing so; supposedly making them look bad as a christian; I slacked in doing open air preaching.
But I really feel I must do this, although I am very fearful for doing so even after doing it in the past for many years. A spirit of fear has come upon me.
It Was one of the avenues that drew me to CHRIST was when someone walked into my place of business and gave me a couple of Gospel Tracts. It was a PASTOR FROM A CHURCH CALLED GRACE BIBLE CHURCH here in a small town in Louisiana. I still have those 2 tracts which I received about 15 to16 years ago. So I know open witnessing with tracts works, it did for me.

Unfortunately for such well-intentioned ideals, the evidence is in, and the news is not good. For example, as a member of the communist bloc, Albania was the only officially atheist country in the world. It was also the most control-oriented member of that bloc. The state decided how many flats should be built, how much milk should be produced and how many cars in how many colors the country needed. The planners were not as smart as the marketplace. Albanians waited years to share overcrowded apartments, and a car could be bought and paid for, with delivery seven years later.
But it was more than just an economic failure. It deeply affected the morality of the people suffering under it. Corruption became embedded in every social organism. Underground economics, and the shady world of moral compromises, became epidemic.
Capitalism, by contrast, is a system that allows people to make their own choices, but demands virtue in its exaltation of contract, duty and diligence.
So what of God? Is he a capitalist? Is he a communist? Is he a God who would have people controlled like in Albania, or is he a God who favors risk and reward as in the United States?
The God I find in the Bible is a risk taker. He set Adam and Eve in the garden and gave them the right to choose -- allowing them to live with the consequences of their poor choices. Abraham, by contrast, chose faith and was rewarded for his risky obedience.
God finally risked all by allowing us to accept or decline his sacrifice on the cross.
God has made a significant investment in us, and he expects a return. But he gives us freedom and rewards as the risk taker. That is the essence of a true capitalist.

The Christian compassion, Christian humility and fellowship of shown by some of these people just amazes me. I am through arguing with people whoa re dead wrong and cannot even listen to anything that shatters their concept of things. Then so many of these street preachers wonder why they wash out and bomb in front of a live audience. I am going to make one more attempt to witness to the lost in this board and I am then about done here I think By the way Jesse, go back to one of those colleges you preach at and sign up for a course in government or social studies. Socialism and Communism are NOT the same thing, are not comparable with each other, and are two different forms of government. Any high school senior even, learns this. May God bless you as some of you truly need it more than me, It is you who has no compassion nor humility FS. Look in the mirror first FS. You accuse people who claim to be Christian such as Palin, to be a false convert. (I do not know if she is or not) but It is you who is a false convert. Palin has more FRUIT than you. You are a murderer who kills babies. You are a liar who came on this board bearing false witness. You side with the devil. You follow after your father the DEVIL.

If only you did not make so many assumptions. Read a few of your earlier posts. Too much assumption with knowing is the main flaw of many people on this board. And you have not made one assumption after another on these boards concerning many? I beg you differ. This is the reason that I was so urgent to post today concerning you. Because of your assumptions on others.

Take the log out of your own eye before looking at specks in mine and also for a hard working man YOU sure are on the board all he time. My salvation is between me and jesus and I am not accountable to you. I try posting on here before I leave for work in morning, then for my lunch break and then after work. I have removed the log out of my eye, that is why I am trying to help you. If you see any speck in mine or log in mine, then let me know what it is. You preach to sinners don't you. So why do you think I should not preach to you? What gives you the right to preach to one who is a sinner? I am not condemning you. I am WARNING you of the JUDGMENT that one day will come your way. Please repent.

And I am supposed to care what you think, Rhema, because...... Because I have Christ love for you. I do not want you to burn in everlasting fire. If I did not care for you, I would not bother to respond this way. But because I know that you are deceievd in believeing you are saved, I am grieved deep within. I blame more of the preachers and pastors that have tickled your ears in speaking to you smooth words instead of telling you the TRUTH that you must REPENT from all your sins before the BLOOD of CHRIST is applied to your account. That the GOD OF THE BIBLE expects you to walk in all HOLINESS being led by HIS HOLY SPIRIT and not the flesh for you to be deemed as a Son of HIS. Otherwise you are a bastard, without a HOLY FATHER. Isaiah 30:9-11, "That this is a rebellious people, lying children, children that will not hear the law of the LORD: Which say to the seers, See not; and to the prophets, Prophesy not unto us right things, speak unto us smooth things, prophesy deceits: Get you out of the way, turn aside out of the path, cause the Holy One of Israel to cease from before us."

Or FS might have a phone with internet capabilities. Or work at home. Or work somewhere with reliable internet capabilities. Don't assume things about others, Rhema, assumptions are frequently wrong and you sound less intelligent than you may or may not be. My assumptions are no more ridiculous than the assumptions that FS has towards others on this board and other people she has made comments on. Including you. She has accused you of being stupid when you challenged her concerning Nazism .
