Here are two new signs that the team made on the computer, and then took to a store and had blown up. Once blown up, we taped it to a board bought at Wal-Mart. These signs cost us a total of like $20 for both all together. Here is the Ps 7:11 sign at work at Angelina College. (The REPENT sign was banned from that campus)

That's great. Here lately we have done the same thing. You can buy the boards at walmart pretty cheap. So far I have just got a really thick black marker and wrote on the board. When the weather is bad or there isn't many people out we just stand and hold signs. People will just start flocking around you. And even if they don't people driving by break their neck trying to read it.

Does anyone have any suggestions for one-liners that go good on a board? Or what is your favorite scriptures to put on them?

I would like to make a sandwhich board that says on one side:
HATE SIN! Ps 97:10
and on the other side:
FEAR GOD! Ps. 33:8

Why did the repent sign get banned? My guess is that a thief might get offended...

The Repent sign was banned because the college President conveyed to us that the college tries to avoid "labelling."

Maybe we should have retrained from college the students, "students" lest we label them.

So we made some more signs. One which says:
HATE SIN! Ps 97:10
and on the other side:
FEAR GOD! Ps. 33:8
It is my favorite sign. Short, sharp, simple, and easy enough for someone just walking by to memorize and think about all day.
I hope to get a picture of it to show you guys soon.

The Jesus Crew went to Austin Texas with a sign that read, "WHAT IF?" people came up and asked what it meant... the replies are endless What if you die tonight? what if you don't make it home? what if the Bible is true? what if you end up in Hell?

I like that. Clever. The Bible does call us to be "wise as serpents, and gentle as doves."

Signs and Billboards are some of the most effect ways of getting your point across. Our society invests millions of dollars every years in advertisement using signs and billboars. However the devil has convinced Christians that this approach for the gospel is too strong and bold, and should not be used. My personal thoughts on why lies like this are told is because the devil knows that if Christians everywhere started using signs, it wouldn't take very long at all until we rocked our towns, cities, country, and the whole world with the gospel! So, we made up some new signs since we recently had some stolen on campus. We made them in Microsoft Word, then went to Kinkos and had them blown up. Then attached them to little poster boards. Total cost for reach board was remarkably cheap! We even made a REVERSE-ABLE SANDWHICH BOARD! It has a total of 4 sides and therefore 4 signs, and 2 can be displayed at a time. Here are some pictures of our models: The coolest part about our reverse-able sandwhich board, is that you can display any one of the 4 signs without even wearing it. This is how: Since they two boards are connected with straps, the boards can lean on each other and not fall. The guys and I can't wait to break out our new weapons on Monday.

Is that just foam boards from Wal-Mart and some lawn chair cloth (I can't think what it is called)? I am going to have to invest in that! That way I can have a sign and have my hands free.

Directions to making reverse-able sandwhich board:Materials:Two 20 by 30 Foam Boards from Wal-Mart Microsoft Word on computer Local Kinkos Store Clear Packing Tape Sowing Kit Counted Cross Stitch (Or any sort of strap) Knife Building Process:This is what we did. Jeff downloaded great fonts to Microsoft Word from www.dafont.com and made up scripture signs. We took the small printed versions to Kinkos to be enlarged to the closest available side to the foam boards from wal-mart. We took the foam boards, measured to see wear the shoulder straps should be, and then made two slits in each board the size of the straps we were going to use. We made sure that we made the slits in the same spot on each board, about an inch and a half down from the top and about three inches in from the sides. We passed the bottom of the material through the slits and then brought it back up to sow together. Then we taped the enlarged papers to the sandwhich boards. One paper on each side, which gave us four in total. We taped all of it so that is it water, beer, spit proof. Taping all of it also makes it sterdier. I hope this doesn't make it sound complicated because it actually was easy.

...make sure, when you go to dafont.com, only download the fonts labeled "FREE" or "FREE FOR PERSONAL USE"...or you could run into infringement problems. Somebody tried to accuse me for that by using a popular font, but I was in the clear because it was free.

IF you just have a one line message you can afford to use reflector tape (get it cheaper at Lowe's, Southerlands, or other large hardware places) for your letters. then when your witnessing in the bar- district the words will reflect from the bright lights.

I love signs. I was standing on Indiana Avenue (Lubbock) today during morning rush hour with a picture sign and a woman stopped to tell me that several months ago she was going to have an abortion and just happened to take a short cut and saw the sign. She added, "because of you my baby is alive." This gave me an idea to make three signs and have three people hold them several yeards apart. The first one to read, "What IF?" The second one to read, "You died tonight?" and the third one " Heaven or ...?"

Yup, I love the new signs and sandwhich board. I'm hooked. I never thought I would wear a sandwhich board. I guess it is like how many of us viewed passing out gospel tracts at first, we thought people would be totally offended and think we were nuts (we are nuts, of course). Once we started doing it though we realized many people don't get offended. I found the same with the sign. Certainly the devil doesn't like tracts and he doesn't like scripture signs. He has always hated God's word and will do anything to keep Christians from proclaiming it.

When you have a sign there is no mistaking that you are not "just going with the flow." You stick out like a sore thumb and you stir up some devils, that's for sure! I like what Jeff said when you guys were here. "It's like going through the zoo and running along side the cage with a stick." That might be a paraphrase...
