Great article Joe, I have to read it again.
The meaning of "covenantal nomism" is that human obedience is not construed as the means of entering into God's covenant. That cannot be earned; inclusion within the covenant body is by the grace of God. Rather, obedience is the means of maintaining one's status within the covenant. And with its emphasis on divine grace and forgiveness, Judaism was never a religion of legalism.
This is from the end of the 10th para. It is excellent at pointing out the problem in our churches. We want to have fun instead of obedience.

I experienced this in the Navy. When we were in severe storms or approaching dangerous waters we would watch, wait, listen and then obey our Captain. Anything less was treacherous and dangerous to the ship and her crew. Our lives depended on our Captain, the head, and our body obedience unto him was vital!

Do you think, O lukewarm professing Christian, that you can continue breaking the law of the omnipotent Lawgiver while you tread the blood of Christ underfoot and be guiltless on Judgment Day? Do you think He will judge you with favoritism and not according to your works (II Cor.5:10-11; Eze.33:7-20)? Do you think your “good works” short of perfect obedience will bribe God to pervert justice on that Day of Woe and not condemn you for your sins? If so, you are deceived! Wake up, hypocrites! “Let everyone that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity”, or depart from the name of Christ now! Be not deceived, unless you repent and become morally perfect, you will surely go to hell, and that forever!
Excellent! I had to copy this apart as it is so powerful. I will start a new thread with just this.

1 John 2:3-5 And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.
God's Word.

Now, now shetani, THAT seems a little intolerant! Why is humankind such haters of truth? The Bible clearly teaches that Jesus was hated because He testified of thier wickedness. It should not surprise us when God-haters turn that hatred to the ones who serve Him with all thier heart, mind, and strength. She-t harden not your neck against the One who made you.

This kind of video does not shock me anymore. It makes my hair stand up as I know many friends and family have died to protect the very freedom they abuse. But, if we will teach them the gospel they may repent. Pray for the enemies of the cross as our Lord commanded. Amen. www.youtube.com/watch?v=OLK1Xpc7SMQ

Preaching God's justice without His mercy makes as much sense as preaching God's mercy without His justice. Both types of preaching are non-sense. Lord help us.
James 5:19-20 Brethren, if any of you do err from the truth, and one convert him; Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.
1 John 1:6-8 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

Here is the full story of this great morning in the Lord. The morning after Thanksgiving came early as the alarm went off at 3:30am. We had been making preparations and plans for this outreach a month in advance. God had given several blessings during this tremendous opportunity. Paul Kaiser and his wonderful family were visiting from Santa Rosa California and quite a few people were off from work. We had ordered 4000 Christmas Cash tracts from www.customtractsource.com, which proved to be marvelous ammunition for this event. We had researched all the opening times and planned to start at Best Buy at 4:15 with Ray. In 20 minutes at Best Buy we handed out 600 tracts getting to the very start of the line with just a few dozen left. Hallelujah! One man followed us all the way to the front to return three tracts we had given to his family, I am terrified for him. The people at the head of the line...... click here thegreatnewsoahu.com/id87.html for the rest of the story. Thanks Josh for your encouragement. Lastly, if you contemplate doing this the busier they are the better because it will take management more time to find out what is going on and try and take steps to stop the preaching.

1 Cor 6 helped me with the judging issue. We are to judge from the biggest to the smallest of issues.
I agree fruit is brought about by God alone, but think of this: You and I are someone else's fruit, and there are seeds inside of fruit. Lots of them, and if we the fruit will die to ourselves then those seeds can be planted and produce even more fruit, ad finitum.

Apparently, the crowd(the ones laughing) thought it was a great hoot. Another way to draw a crowd. Satire is a long lost and important part of communication. Why do we sit idly by why the world tries to rule the day? Fear.
