The KJV has been translated into many languages. Even Thai, and although it is not a perfect translation, it is better than the other Bible versions they have. My wife is Thai so her English is not so good, but she said that when she started to read the King James, it blessed her with her English and she was able to retain more words.

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, In light of the scriptures below, ask yourself this question: Is your righteousness through "the faith of Christ" OR through your own faith "in Christ".
The Word of God: (Phil 3:9) And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:
NIV: Phil3:9 and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ—the righteousness that comes from God and is by faith.

This is just hearsay, but I heard from a good source that one of the scholars that worked on the NIV is in a mental institution, and another one lost his voice on live television while trying to debate against the authorized King James. One time we met a writer and academic here on the street who was from Melbourne. He used to lecture at a university in Melbourne. He told us a story about how he had tried to profit from God's Word by writing a book about the meaning of 666. He said that no matter what he did to try and get the book published, things went badly wrong. Someone even shot him. It goes to show that one can't mess with God's Word.

I am addressing street preachers here:
I met an old street preacher once who put it like this: The NIV is like a glass of water with a drop of poison in it. You won’t get sick drinking a few glasses; the water is good for you, some sick you pray for may recover, get saved, get to know God, but if you keep ingesting small doses of poison (heresy), you will go astray, just like those that were taken by the prosperity message. And then after awhile; perhaps at the end of your ministry, you’ll begin to wonder why you still can’t move mountains, or raise the dead, or do the ‘greater works’ that Jesus spoke of. Or why you feel weary and faint after only an hour on the knees. The KJV 1611 is the weapon of choice for combat. She’ll never miss fire on you, and she is tried and pure. Even Smith Wigglesworth and those you like to quote here like Spurgeon and John Wesley believed in God’s pure word. Look at the miracles that the Lord wrought by the modern day apostle Smith Wigglesworth? That alone should be testimony to God’s Word.

Certainly, most Buddhists have their own priest. Buddhists identify with priests. In English, it is erroneously translated as ‘monk’, but the word in Thai for monk “PRA” means priest. Ask her if she has a priest, then ask her what he can do for her? Ask her if her priest can give her eternal life? Then tell her that you know a high priest called “PRA YEAH-SU” (meaning Jesus) who can really help her. If she shuts you out, then move onto the 5 main precepts of Buddhism: Just use these 3, it will do the job: 1. Don’t kill animals Ask her if she eats meat. 2. Don’t speak lies Ask her if she has ever lied? 3. Don’t drink alcohol Has she ever drunk alcohol?
So make her see that it is hopeless for any Buddhist to be saved or any religion for that matter. Tell her that Jesus is the Son of God, and that Buddha was a teacher. Other approaches: Buddha said just before he died “I know not where I go”. But Jesus said “I go unto my father”. Buddha said: “Find the way of salvation”. Jesus said “I am the way”
Then PM me your postal address and I’ll send you a free copy of “The Light of The World in Thai” (VCD by Jack.T. Chick) for her.

Re The sixth seal: 12And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood; 13And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind. 14And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places. 15And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; 16And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: Read the woes of the sixth seal. Has every island and mountain been moved out of place?

I see the two witnesses in Rev 11, but what about the angel in Rev 10?. Angel means messenger, that couldn't be Elijah could it? Fwiw: I believe we are approaching the sixth seal of Rev 6:12 as far as prophecy goes.

Dear TrustandObey,
You misunderstand me. I am not disputing the ministry of the two witnesses. The fact is that nobody in the Bible has ever descended down to earth from heaven. John was Elijah, yet John didn’t descend from heaven to announce the first advent of the Lord. Jesus is the only one that we know of for sure who will ‘descend’ from heaven above. Albeit, seeing that Enoch and Elijah never suffered a physical death, there is scope for that possibility. Furthermore, one can’t categorically affirm that the coming of Elijah coincides with the ministry of two witnesses. One can’t link prophecy by signs. There is a significant difference between calling fire down from heaven and breathing fire out of one’s mouth. Would you have known who John was by sings? No. The two witnesses could be apostles or prophets. It is wrong to make assumptions like “he breathed fire” he must be a prophet, or “he cast a mountain into the sea” he must be an apostle. Like John, God will send one in the spirit and power of Elijah to annouce the return of Christ. The two witnesses come later.

Matthew 17:11 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Elias truly shall first come, and restore all things. (12) But I say unto you, That Elias is come already, and they knew him not, but have done unto him whatsoever they listed. Likewise shall also the Son of man suffer of them. Please note: Verse 11: Shall come (The Elijah of Mal 4:5 is yet to come) Verse 12: Is come already (Is John) "Elias truly shall first come, and restore all things" Jesus said this after John the Baptist was dead and beheaded in Matthew 16. Have all things been restored? No. It clearly states that Elijah is still coming again, when? Before the ‘great and dreadful day of the Lord’ (Mal 4:5). The first advent of Christ was not the ‘great and dreadful day of the Lord’. John’s appearance was not before the ‘great and dreadful day of the Lord’, and nowhere in the Bible does it teach that the spirit of Elijah is made manifest in the body of Christ in the latter days to “restore all things”. This doctrine is heresy. God used one prophet, the prophet Elijah to destroy 450 prophets of Baal (1 King 18:19). God doesn’t need the body of Christ to do Elijah’s work. For John was one prophet who came in the spirit and power of Elijah “a voice crying in the wilderness” God didn’t need a band of men preaching repentance. God will purge a vessel for His work, and fill him with the spirit and power of Elijah. He did it with John, and He will do it again. The question is, whether or not this event will be separate or inclusive of the role of one of the 2 witnesses in Revelations.

Those that are preaching the Gospel of Revelation 14:6-12 are preaching the Elijah message today, preparing the way for the Second Advent of our Lord. What a Calling! I don't agree with this teaching, one would have to be a prophet in order to do the work of a prophet. The same way a Pastor could no more fill the shoes of an apostle. It is a snare to operate outside of one's calling. Will helps call fire down from heaven?
When Elijah appears, it will turn the Jewish state upsidedown, there will be mass conversion. “John the Baptist was the Elijah messenger sent to prepare God's people for the first advent of Christ by calling them back to true worship. But notice that the prophecy of Malachi 4:5 relates more directly to an Elijah messenger who is to come in the spirit and power of Elijah "before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD" or just before the second coming of Jesus. Once again a messenger is to proclaim a message in the spirit and power of Elijah to bring reformation and herald the second coming of Jesus!” This role can only be fulfilled by a Prophet (like John) or an apostle. An apostle can operate in a prophets role.

Note: "Elijah truly shall first come, and restore all things" Jesus said this after John the Baptist was dead and beheaded (in Matthew 16). Don't be fooled, Elijah is still coming before the Second advent of Christ, the 'great and dreadful day of the Lord' just as the Jews have always rightly taught from Malachi.

Likewise shall also the Son of man suffer of them. Note: Verse 11: "shall" (future tense) Verse 12: "is come already" Now take a look at Malachi 3:1 Here is John and then in Malachi 4:5 Here is Elijah From Malachi 3:1 we couldn't have known that his name would be John, but we do know that he is Elijah after the spirit and power from Luke 1:17 So we know from Malachi 4:5 that it is Elijah, but we don't know his name (after the flesh) yet. Furthermore, the first advent was not the great and dreadful day of the Lord, Elijah will come before Jesus returns.

Mal 4:5 Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD:
We know that Jesus said John was Elijah, not in the physical but after the spirit. Luke 1:17 says that John came in the spirit and power of Elijah. But that wasn't before the "great and dreadful" day of the Lord, so do we look for another who will come in the spirit and power of Elijah (like John) to announce the second advent of the Lord?
Are there two messengers? Matthew 17: 11 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Elias truly shall first come, and restore all things. 12But I say unto you, That Elias is come already, and they knew him not, but have done unto him whatsoever they listed. Likewise shall also the Son of man suffer of them. Verse 11 "shall come first" Verse 12 "is come already".
Verse 11 is supported by Mal 4:5 that Elijah will come again before the second advent of Christ, but it doesn't mean Elijah in the flesh, as God looks at the spirit and not the flesh. Elijah was a man subject to like passions as we are, so it is the spirit that counts. Another John type messenger will come and like John, will come in the spirit and power of Elijah prior to the return of Chirst.
I'd like to get your views on this doctrine. Abiding in the doctrine of Christ, bounbough

I heard it said that God created man for companionship. God gave mankind freewill to choose between good and evil, between choosing to love and serve God or not. And rightly so! I wouldn’t want my son to pretend to love me, or display affection that wasn’t sincere. We all want to be sincerely loved, not with lip service, but from the heart. A robots love is meaningless, God wants sincere servants, friends, sons, companionships (all in one), and so he won’t just let anybody into the kingdom. Many are called but few are chosen.

>MY 2 CENTS: Why I am not a Calvinist: >God didn't know the exact outcome of Saul's Kingship: 1 SAM 15:35 And Samuel came no more to see Saul until the day of his death: nevertheless Samuel mourned for Saul: and the LORD repented that he had made Saul king over Israel.>God has a heart and it repented Him that he had made man on the earth: Gen 6:6 And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart. And Isaiah 47:5 God creates evil and can bring it on too: I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things. Psalm 78:49 He cast upon them the fierceness of his anger, wrath, and indignation, and trouble, by sending evil angels among them.I love it that God deals in absolutes: Yea or nay, first or last, heaven or hell, narrow or wide, serve one master or the other. Good or evil....and God's pure or not God's pure word.

Danlirette:
Intimate fellowship? This is not intimate fellowship. These are real issues that are open for all Christians to see. We don't live in private, we are street preachers, our lives are out in the open. The only intimate fellowship I have is with the Lord and my wife. I assume that this is a Christian only forum.

Hi Josh, Sorry if I am slow to reply. I don't have a landline at home or internet that is handy. In regards to the woman by the well, each man that she lived and dwelt with was recognized as a marriage in the eyes of God. Perhaps there was never a bill of divorcement written each time either she or her husband parted (or departed). I assume that the man whom Jesus spoke of who is not her husband is some guy she dumped into at the local bazaar the night before. Perhaps he was already married and hence Jesus said “and he whom thou now hast is not thy husband:” Perhaps he was somebody else’s husband. We can only speculate here. At what point does a fling become a marriage? Well according to scripture, one would ask oneself these questions: 1. Have you left your father and mother? (Gen 2:24) 2. Are you cleaving unto this woman? (Gen 2:24) 3. Are you joined unto her? (Eph 5:31) Living with her in a husband wife type relationship would qualify if you were sleeping with her as well. 4. Are you sleeping with her? (Eph 5:31) and they two shall be one flesh.
I’d like to qualify this by saying that there is a difference between casual sex (fornication) and sex with someone that is your ‘girlfriend’ whom you live with and have pillow talk with. Satan has succeeded in steadily polluting the world with immoral media that encourages an attitude that is very complacent about sexual relations.

Correct! I fell into the trap nearly 2 years ago. I married a woman who had once lived on and off with a man for years. She even had a daughter to him. Although she had never been married by civil law, I knew I was in adultery as the Lord shewed it to me. First, I lost the anointing and had no power when preaching, then I got a conviction about Matthew 19:9. So some preachers have told me to leave my wife and repent. Most will say "repent and stay with her". Out of all the issues in the Bible, this is the hardest one yet. I even tried to break up with my wife and offered to support her and her daughter for the rest of her life, but she refused and turned the house upsidedown. In the end, I wasn't strong enough to put her away (as she is poor and needy) so I gave it all up to the Lord, and I'll only leave her if and when I get a very clear sign/signal from the Lord. Before I lost my power, I had an unction and knew all that I needed to know when I needed to know it (1 John 2:20). Also John 16:13 was the norm. But now I am half blind and can't get clear answers from the Lord, nor can I see what's around the corner (John 16:13). And all this has impinged upon my work in the publick ministry.
