Right after the resurrection the believers began assembling on the first day of the week. Acts 20:7 John 20:19 1 Corinthians 16:2 The Sabbath is the seventh day. You think that Sunday is the Sabbath or that it is just now the day that Christians typically have services?

Amen. I agree with both posts. I haven't been on the boards much since I've been spending my time studying Spanish, but maybe I'll find time to be more active as time goes on. - Josh LOL! I was thinking about trying to learn Spanish after I had gotten Greek down pretty well. Spanish is a breeze compared to Greek! Trust me! You will have no problem understanding Spanish grammar if you can understand Greek grammar. There are also a lot more resources out there to learn Spanish than there is Greek. For one, Spanish is actually spoken while Koine Greek is only spoken by a very very select few of people who do it just because they like it. I know of a man, Randall Buth, who hold Greek classes that are nearly like a modern language class. He has some great teaching methods as far as I have seen. He's pretty well respected in certain circles. www.biblicalulpan.com/His Greek pronunciation is similar to modern Greek but a few differences. It's interesting how they try to find out how they pronounced it back then... I don't know how "nerdy" you have got with Greek and linguistics but here is some good information from my Greek professor on the topic. www.biblicalgreek.org/links/pronunciation.phpI haven't been using my Greek much... so I'm losing it. I've got all the materials here to study, but I think right now the Lord has me focusing on Spanish. Dios te bendiga , ερρωσο, Josh

Ok, I agree a man dressing like a woman is easily distinguished. What would he wear? Now please tell me how a woman trying to dress like a man is so easily distinguished? Do you guys think Deuteronomy 22:5 has any relevance for today or not? The question of what would he wear... is that not culture based? Because if you ask an American or someone from Scotland (kilts), you might get a different answer. If you ask someone 2000 years ago, you might still get an different answer. Robes on men are much more modest than pants. Remember, women can lust too. To me, it seems that if everyone wore something like a robe (male and female) you would not really be able to see the curves of the body- which in most people's mind effects if something as seen as modest or not. If something is really tight ie you can see all the curves of the body, it is seen as immodest, right? I once heard Ravenhill say something, somewhat in jest, that was probably shocking to some people. He said, "The greatest holiness preacher ever wore shorts." He was referring to John the Baptist. With that said, I do always smile when I hear my holiness pentecostal friends say something like "when you are in a place and find the restrooms, how do you know which door to go into?"

Praise God. At the end of the month I'm preaching at an event called Bikes Blues and BBQ.
Last year they say there was about 350,000 here. That is quite a bit of people to cram on one street.

I would only say get one with a microphone. You don't want to have to hold the whole horn to your mouth. After about 20 minutes of holding it to your face it will get heavy. Most come with one, but it's something you need to have.

John, Nida, Angela and I were just listening to the audio of the radio show and just found out that the last 6:30 min or so were cut off. You can hear Jesse again at some point, but John, myself and the caller were cut off. We did answer his question. Oh well, we will just have to address it at the beginning of next week's show. I don't know what happened. For those of you who were listening, could you hear us speaking? The music at the end of the show even played and I am the one who started it. That's weird... No, you couldn't hear much anything after he asked his question. It was silent. Then I heard your closing music at the end.

I actually agree with some of what John Calvin says about Isaiah 63:17. And indeed when they trace their sins to the wrath of God, they do not intend to free themselves from blame, or to set aside their guilt. But the Prophet employs a mode of expression which is of frequent occurrence; for in the Scriptures it is frequently said that God drives men into error, (2Th_2:11;) “gives them up to a reprobate mind,” (Rom_1:28;) and “hardens them.” (Rom_9:18.) When believers speak in this manner, they do not intend to make God the author of error or of sin, as if they were innocent, or to free themselves from blame; but they look higher, and rather acknowledge that it is by their own fault that they are estranged from God and deprived of his Spirit, and that this is the reason why they are plunged into every kind of evils. and Thus believers here acknowledge that God has forsaken them, but that it is by their own fault;183 and they acknowledge God’s righteous vengeance against them. In like manner, when Moses says that “God hath not hitherto given to the people eyes to see and a heart to understand,” (Deu_29:4,) he does not lay the blame on God, but reminds the Jews whence they should seek to obtain a remedy for that stupidity of which they had been convicted. Yet it may appear as if here they aimed at something else, by inquiring into the cause and remonstrating with God, that he ought to have acted differently towards them and treated them less harshly. But I reply, that believers always look at the goodness of God, even when they acknowledge that they suffer justly on account of their sins.
From Calvin's Commentaries on the said verse.

A fool fights against myths? So fighting against those myths like there are God's that shoot lightning from the sky is foolish... Well jeez I should just believe them and let everyone else believe them right? That sounds like a real peachy plan. Art simply is trying to fight what he sees as lies, after all stopping the spread of lies is quite admirable in my eyes if he's correct after all. Now while he might require a bit more tact at times, I wouldn't call him a fool for that. Ok, let me clarify. No, it's not foolish in and of itself to speak against something that is wrong or a lie. It's the way that Art "fights" so hard is what is so pathetic. Look at his last 25 post or so. He basically just talks about how he hates Christians, republicans, and Palin. Not much substance. Sounds like a bunch of raving to me. What's ironic is that he calls us "street ranters" but he probably rants more than anyone on the board. Rant - to speak or declaim extravagantly or violently; talk in a wild or vehement way; rave: If we are going to use a discussion board as a discussion board, maybe we should actually discuss rather than rave?? It's one thing to preach a sermon and not expect or want to dicuss but it's a whole other thing to be on a discussion board and just babble on about nothing. Art, are you really 31? PS. Art is a myth.

Only a fool would fight so hard against something he believes is a myth. You don't see people fighting against the tooth fairy do you? So why do you fight so hard against Christ if you believe he is a myth? Sounds strange to me. Maybe it's because your conscience tells you otherwise.

Yeah, that guy is interesting to say the least. The first time I met him he wouldn't even talk to me. I would stand there and just try to talk to him about anything and he wouldn't respond. If I remember right, he came out there waring nothing but black the first time. This is the 2nd time he came out. He talked to me a little bit that time.
