ADF rarely deals with the criminal element, only civil. Since Mike was arrested for a criminal offense, he must clear the slate before ADF will even consider representing him.
Mike is in the hospital now and doing okay. He is scheduled to be released tomorrow if all goes well overnight.

Brother Mike A. was savagely beaten by attackers last Friday night at Virginia Beach. Please pray for him and his family. He needs it!
And then to top it off, he was arrested leaving the emergency room for disorderly conduct, and he spent the entire weekend in jail. The last word I had is that he was bonded out of jail Monday night.
Folks, the hatred and violent attitude towards the gospel and God's preachers is rapidly escalating. Preachers, we must watch and pray!
The Lord gave me this verse tonight:
And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not (Luke 22:31,32a)
I believe that part of Christ's eternal intercession for His Body is that our faith will remain strong, genuine, and vibrant in the midst of persecution.

Bema Ministries 2008 Summer Update
As some of you already know, we ended our spring semester in Southern California. The Lord has also allowed us to spend the entire summer in the San Francisco Bay area, and to come alongside and labor with some of the local preachers.
During our stay here, we have preached at numerous events. Below, you will find a brief summary of some of our outreaches. It has been a very busy summer indeed!
Irvington High School: Here we preached and distributed Christian tracts. We were amazed at the hardness of the hearts of these students. It is sad to say that a high percentage of the students were homosexuals (mostly lesbians). These students were also very violent. This is the future generation of America.
City of Los Gatos: We preached and handed out tracts here, usually gathering mostly high school students. Many would mock, but would also listen to us preach the entire time we were there. We also had good one on one conversations with the students. Others would pass by and be encouraged by the preaching. One lady was very encouraged and mentioned to us that her husband would love to know more about open air preaching. Evangelista also had a great conversation with an atheist young man one of the nights we were out there, and clearly presented the gospel of Jesus Christ to him. He was very thankful and sincere, but sadly he did not submit to Christ.
City of San Francisco: We preached here mainly on Saturday in the early afternoon. This is one of JK’s favorite places to preach in the area. We have also met a few people who were encouraged by the preaching who shared their testimonies with those passing by. Lots of people here, and no need to try and draw a crowd.
San Jose, Sacramento, and San Francisco Gay Pride Parades: We were able to team up with various groups of local preachers for each of these events. Our stand for righteousness was met with the usual resistance and unbiblical excuses. We received local news coverage as well, and believe it was all well worth the prayers and time spent preaching. We also preached outside of the San Francisco City Hall for the gay marriage ceremonies. This was broadcasted nationally, and some of our banners were also shown on the news broadcasts. One gentleman actually dropped dead at this event while he listened to us preach. He apparently overdosed on drugs. God was very merciful as He gave the man one more opportunity to repent. Unfortunately, the man mocked as he played his guitar and sang of how God loves the homosexuals. As the paramedics worked to save his life, the crowd had no problem cheering on the couples as they streamed out of the courthouse. This was a once-in-a-lifetime preach, and very effective.
Pleasanton and Palo Alto: We also preached here, mainly in the early evenings. Many simply hated God and didn’t want to hear about Jesus. There were those who professed to know Christ, but would end up usually cursing and mocking us. These towns are very similar to Los Gatos.
Las Vegas Outreach: We drove to Las Vegas for the 4th of July weekend, with temperatures the low 100’s. Now we know why this city is called Sin City. We were bombarded with pornographic images as soon as we entered. For the remainder of the time we were there, there were porno billboards and signs on passing vans, porno literature on the streets, and people handing out porno cards to people on the streets, you name it. Unfortunately, it was sad to see that there were many parents there with little children. While JK preached one afternoon, a man passed by with his wife and little children, claiming to be a pastor. JK asked him what he was doing here, and he replied that he is teaching his children a different way. He continued to mock us as he left. There were many who professed to be Christians, but yet were getting drunk and doing other things God condemns. All in all, it was quite a preach, and we had many good conversations with people.
Hollister Biker Weekend: This is an annual biker event. We also noticed a few Christian biker clubs. Unfortunately, we met many who were still in sin. Evangelista met a pastor’s wife, who then introduced her cigar smoking pastor and their worship pastor. The Hell’s Angels were there and they, too, had the opportunity to listen to the preaching. We also saw the same belly dancer there who danced at the San Jose Gay Pride Parade. She mockingly danced around one of the preachers to the crowd’s delight.
Southeast Open Air Preachers Conference (SOAPA): We flew out to Norfolk, VA to attend this conference, as JK was invited to preach. We also preached nightly at Virginia Beach during our week there. One night was a great blessing, as a young man heard the preaching, became very convicted of his sins, and rededicated his heart to the Lord. We also met a local pastor who is also a street preacher, and was a tremendous encouragement to us. JK was able to share his testimony at the Sunday evening church service. As we sat on a flight back to San Francisco, we were able to minister to a flight attendant who was trapped in an adulterous relationship. She confided in Evangelista that she hadn’t been able to sleep, and could not look at herself in the mirror as a result of the shame and guilt she felt by being in this relationship.
Apparently, the devil had told her that it was a hopeless situation, and that she could not find repentance anymore. Evangelista assured her that if she would repent and turn from her sin of adultery, that God would forgive her. When Evangelista told her that, she was amazed and glad, and it seemed as if a light had been switched on in her face. Evangelista continued to minister to this woman, and prayed with her as tears streamed down her face. What a blessing! Before we deplaned, she seemed very confident of what she needed to do to in order for her to retain the peace she so longed for. We were very thankful to the Lord that He was able to use us in that manner.
George Michael, Toby Keith, John Mayer, Sammy Hagar, Motley Crue and Rock the Bells concerts: The Toby Keith concert was the worst of all of these. Most of the attendees consisted of young girls who were hardly dressed, and of course, drunk. Many also professed to be Christians. The scripture verse that comes to mind is 1 Peter 4:17-18: “For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God? And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?” The churches in America are in a sad, sad state indeed. This is the fruit of the American Church: rotten, smelly, worthless, and full of evil (Jeremiah 24).
Fremont Arts and Wine Festival: This was a great preach as there were many attendees at this event. We thank God for the liberty to preach there. Although banners were not allowed at this event, we wore sandwich boards instead. We were able to preach to hundreds, and had a very large crowd at the end of the day on Sunday.
City of San Jose: This is another interesting city to preach. You can actually sense the malice and hatred exuding from the young people here as we declare the Word of God openly. I have preached at a few events in my short tenure as an open air preacher, and have been knocked around a few times by people as well. But this city is truly in need of a savior! You must be on guard at all times, watching out for each other and the preacher, and carefully recording everything on video. You have to be there to understand it, but the kids there are wicked.
We are truly humbled that God is allowing us to preach and teach, and travel the country in this manner. We do not take God’s calling lightly. It is our sincere desire to see all men saved, and that they would genuinely come to repentance and faith in Christ. Our only request from you is that you would cry out to God in prayer! Pray for us, for the souls we will reach on campuses and during our travels, and for God’s will to be accomplished in and through us. He deserves all that we are, and even more so.
We are truly at war for the souls of men. Please pray. It is a matter of eternal significance.

I was wondering what campuses everybody here plans on doing and when. Thanks for asking! This is what the Lord has shown me so far Bro Miles: Univ of Calif Berkeley - Aug 25 to 29 Univ of San Fran - Sept 2 to 5 San Jose St Univ - Sept 8 to 12 Cal St Fresno - Sept 15-19 Northern AZ Univ - Sept 22 to 26 Univ of Oklahoma/Norman - Sept 29 to Oct 3 Univ of Alabama/Tuscaloosa - Oct 6 to 8 Univ of Georgia/Athens - Oct 13, 14 SOAPA Conf Marietta, GA - Oct 15 to 19 Univ of South FL - Oct 20 - 22 Key West Fantasy Fest - Oct 24, 25 Our desire is that all those choosing to obey the mandate to preach to every creature be given abundant grace from the Lord Jesus Christ to boldly proclaim His soon return, and His true gospel. We also pray for God's abundant provision for all those traveling across the country, and for divine protection from harm. I would ask each of you to please pray for Evangelista and I as well, for all of God's will to be accomplished through our efforts. We also are looking for a new (used) truck to pull our enormous 5th wheel trailer. We are kind of in a fix to find a suitable one before we leave the San Fran Bay Area, and we are waiting for the Lord's timing!

I would love to hear him elaborate a little more concerning his doctrine.
Lots of different "calvinist's" out there, and what I call "once saved always saved," Ray may differ in content.
Good to hear, nonetheless.

I say AMEN. He made it real clear that these kids are in sin and are not saved. You can tell by listening to the responses they give to scripture. "And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them." Ephesians 5:11I have had run-ins with them as well. It is very alarming the amount of compromise people are enduring. Here is another link from a couple of years ago that I did not even know about until a week ago. The girl trying to rebuke me was a cigarette smoking hypocrite who defended sin. The redhead guy from this mockery of a ministry was there as well, but they did not include our exchange in the clip. www.godtube.com/view_video.php?viewkey=01feb739b06c399e9cd9Great to finally meet you Kerrigan.

An OBC is someone whose christianity is founded on anything but Jesus Christ and the Holy Bible.
Most believe something someone told them, like a pastor, a televangelist, or a friend, but is found nowhere in scripture.
True Christians put faith in Christ and live by the Bible, not the opinions of men.
Hence the term:
O - pinion B - ased C - hristian

I just love it when these opinion based christians spew out all of this greasy grace doctrine without one single biblical reference.
OBC's - Opinion Based christians. They make our job so much more difficult on the streets and campuses.
By the way art, if the Bible contradicts your position, and I hold the Bible as my standard, it is not hate for me to voice the biblical position.
Disagreement does not equal hate. This is a common tactic of homosexuals and neo-evangelicals to take the focus off of the Bible and pit the listeners against the preacher.
God demands obedience to His word, and this is true love, to obey Him (I John 5:3).

I pray that you will strengthen John, his family, and his sister with her family as well, Father God. Help them to endure hardship, and be encouraged by persecution, for it validates our place in you and YOUR FAMILY, oh God!
Prepare us, O Lord, for battle. Give us the grace and strength we need to accomplish your will here on the earth until you return for your pure spotless bride.
In the name of Jesus Christ our Savior from sin!
AMEN!

Yes, Amen greg, so buckle your Holy Ghost safety belt, because we are in for one heavenly ride to glory!
It will ultimately cost the Christian his life. See John 15 for details, specifically v. 13.
Are you ready Christian?

OK, here's the situation:
A preacher is being harassed by some drunk hecklers, and another preacher steps in to block, allowing the first preacher to continue. In the process, the drunk hecklers attack and batter the second preacher, knocking him to the ground. The hecklers then flee the scene.
Question:
What is the biblical thing to do in this situation?
A. Lay on the ground until everyone leaves B. Call the police and have them arrested C. Pray loudly in tongues until fire comes down from heaven and devours them all D. Nothing
In all seriousness, I would like your best Bible answer.

As you quoted ... "for thy pleasure they are and were created." So, God gest pleasure from all that we do ... even the dying, and suffering and all THAt jazz? It's not a hard connection to make ... in fact, it's pretty much RIGHT THERE IN FRONT OF YOU. These two points go together like Peanut Butter goes with Jelly. This is your opinion. Does man have any say-so in this? Are you a robot or something? Which "bible" are you reading? God's word clearly states that man has chosen death and suffering by revolting against a holy, benevolent and very patient God. Please read Ezekiel 18, specifically vs. 4-9, and 29-32. God is clearly not happy with the death and suffering of mankind. Also read Ezekiel 33 for another clear explanation. II Peter 3:9 also. Death and suffering is a choice man makes. I chose to repent and live obedient to God, which is, amazingly, exactly what you complained about in your original question: Are we only created to obey?I think you are very bitter towards a very loving God, and your foolish heart is darkened, and this alienates you from the God you think you know. One question for you; How have you obeyed God today? Please be specific, and not opinionated, but state authentic Bible obedience. Waiting...............

Well, He will do you a lot more harm than that on judgement day. If you have not repented of all sin and put complete trust and total faith in Jesus as the sacrifice for your sin, and then lived a totally sin-free and biblically obedient life, you will end up in the lake of fire and brimstone for ALL ETERNITY. How does that make you feel?

Was just REAL curious. But now that I know why ... God gets pleasure from people suffering? Your God makes me sick. ;D Cervyy, As usual, you have formed a completely separate point apart from the original one. What does the suffering of mankind have to do with God's pleasure in creation? How do YOU make the connection? Why not explain yourself, instead of just ranting about how sick you are? I am willing to discuss it, if you like.

"Christians," NOT ONE OF Y'ALLS has posted ANYTHING relevant!! Why is this question hard to answer?!? Now, you guys are really getting out of hand.....just breathe, calm down, close your traps and LISTEN UP! God created all things because He wanted to. It was for His great pleasure that all things were and are made. Case in point: Rev 4:11 Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created. So, cervyy, what is your point?

Trekkie said: I apologize for my lengthy delay in responding, but it was finals week last week. I also must respect the wishes of the mods. If you want me to respond to this thread, move it to the Worldview section. Jesse has forbidden me from posting here. I only post this to let you know. I will await your response in the appropriate thread.
bullhornbob says: Apology accepted. I would hope most of the people who post here have some sort of an existence beyond posting on a message board (Get a job, Morluna! j/k).
I am a bit perplexed, though. I thought I originally started the thread here, and then Jesse moved it to the Doctrine section. I may be mistaken, though. I could have started it in the Random Posts section.
At any rate, as possible, I would love to hear some serious answers to my original question:
If God loves the homosexuals so much, then why did he rain down fire and brimstone from heaven on the cities of Sodom, Gomorrah, and the surrounding cities?
The Bible also states that this judgement was only temporal, as Jesus speaks of another judgement to come for these cities (and indeed all mankind) in Matthew 11:24.
