i think it captures the essence of you kids. One day, God will call your name, and will take you where you DON'T want to go, and put you where you DON'T want to be for eternity. Repent, Dusty. Before it's too late.

But....
You must be willing to get arrested.
This can sometimes complicate matters.
I suggest that you always be obedient to the Holy Spirit, and pray diligently BEFORE you decide to preach w/o a required permit.

"God abhors you!" Jonathon Edwards Hmmmm. Now that is an interesting quote. Where have I heard that one before? Anyway, I have this one rattling around in my brain today: Jesus said "go and sin no more," NOT 'go and sin some more.'

When people respond with, "He who is without sin cast the first stone!" I sometimes respond with, "He will! He will cast many stoney hearts into Hell on the day of judgment." Heckler - "he who is without sin, cast the first stone" Preacher - "Go and sin no more" I find that this response stops the mouth of the heckler, every single time.

I see nothing sinful or unbiblical there, especially given the environment. If you accuse someone of sinful behavior, and they are not sure why it is sinful, I believe you should be able to give a biblical answer. Is it sinful because it is sarcastic? Is it sinful because it is mocking sin? I honestly do not know what you are talking about. Neither of those qualify something as being unbiblical. The motive could be wrong, but the words are not necessarily wrong of themselves. If I tell someone gangster rap is sinful I need an explanation why. If I tell someone movies are sinful I need an explanation why. I think a lot of Christians simply disagree and then state their opinion. There is no use saying something is sinful without scriptural evidence to back it up.

I have a question for all of the open air preachers. If your married would you let your wife open air preach and if your not would you if you were?Think about it carefully and be honest please! Interesting question, but God has to put this to task with the individuals, and then they must respond to Him. My wife said she would never preach from a pulpit, let alone open-air. I told her to be careful, because God has a way of putting you to task. I can without a doubt say that today she is the most moving preacher we have on our team (we have 7 preachers - 4 male, 3 female). She preaches with conviction and compassion. I always listen very carefully when she speaks, and the fire of God flows from her. I can feel it in my gut! I would never discourage a woman from preaching open-air, as long as it didn't get too rowdy with hecklers/drunks/thugs (We preach open-air on South Beach-Miami Beach every Saturday, so this kind of crowd is very common). Hope this helps answer your curiosity!

2008 Preaching Reports – Week 4 University of South Florida Monday, January 28, 2008 We arrived at the University of South Florida free speech area at 11:00 am and JK began to preach. He was able to gather a large crowd. He immediately began to refute evolution, as there were students there challenging JK regarding creation. He also preached repentance towards God, faith towards Christ, and holy living. A homosexual approached him and began tearing out pages from the bible with his hands and teeth. The homosexual and his friends also began to ignite the pages with matches. A female dressed in a black dress then approached the homosexual and put out her cigarette inside the bible and walked off. I guess she was trying to make a point. Then I began to preach and approximately 20 minutes within my preaching, the garbage can caught on fire. The campus police arrived and put out the fire. Even though the cops were there for part of JK’s preaching, they had left. They questioned the young man and got his information, as JK stated that this young man was the one who started it. They did nothing to the young man, but JK made comments that if we were the ones who had started the fire, they would have no problems putting the cuffs on us; but because it was one of the students, nothing would happen. The corporal gave us his card and told us that if we had footage of the person who did it, to contact him. While JK had left to pay the meter, I preached and while I did so, a couple of the students tried to steal our banner. Fortunately, they dropped it on the floor and ran off. JK met them half way as they were running and they left the area. One girl later on approached JK and said that she liked our banner. Apparently, not all of them do. JK began to preach again for a while. Then I preached to a smaller crowd and taught on the sin of homosexuality, as one of the young men had questions regarding that. I questioned him as to whether he was a homosexual and he affirmed that he was. The young man was very civil and at the end, shook my hand. I was very grateful that he simply listened and asked questions. Unlike some other students, mainly christians, who get so irate and out of control. Then JK preached and the crowd size grew, as it is not unusual to gather a crowd of 100-150 rather quickly on this campus. Professing christians began making comments that they were sinners and that they couldn’t stop sinning; the same song and dance, yet they couldn’t quote one verse from the bible that stated that Christians have to sin. A christian young man (a pastor’s kid) approached JK and seemed to be disturbed that we were preaching out there. Another young lady also approached JK and pretended that she wanted to accept Jesus and began to ask questions on how a person could accept Jesus. Apparently, she was affiliated with a Christian organization (Intervarsity). All she wanted to do was disprove what we were doing out there. I called her on that and she eventually left. JK called the christians hypocrites and commanded them to stop their sin and read the Bible. Our USF employee friend was there listening again. He made himself available to students who had questions regarding the bible, and JK would refer to him as fruit during his sermon (the false christians always say “where is your fruit, where is your fruit?). We did meet a young man who thanked us for our preaching and was very much appreciative of us being out there. There was also another young man who sat there all day listening to us preach. At first, he mocked, but then later said that he was a Christian and actually began to defend us against other students. Lastly, there was another student who defended our First Amendment right to be there, but he wasn’t a Christian. I believe we left around 4:00 pm. Tuesday, January 29, 2008 We arrived at USF close to noon, but before JK was able to start preaching, the same young man from yesterday (pastor’s kid) was there to start arguing with us that we shouldn’t be preaching the message we were preaching (a message of repentance and holiness). JK ignored his questions and told him that he would start preaching. He followed JK for a few minutes as JK simply ignored him. He eventually left. A small group of students began to form. I did notice a lady filming our preaching. JK did approach her later and she mentioned that she was a campus police (not in uniform), but wouldn’t answer any more questions. An hour later, JK told me to begin preaching. I taught on living obedient to God, not choosing sin, but rather choosing righteousness. Once again, the Christians seem to be opposed to the message of sanctification, as they said that they were sinners and couldn’t stop sinning. I asked them to show me one verse in the bible that said that they had to sin. They couldn’t show me one verse, yet I showed them many verses in the Old and New Testament that showed that Christians had victory over sin. They refused to believe the scriptures. By that time, I had a good sized crowd. Hecklers started popping up, so JK told me to stop preaching and that he would take over from here. The crowd continued to grow in size as he continued to preach with the same hecklers mocking and gyrating in an ungodly manner. JK’s voice began to give out and because he didn’t want to strain his voice entirely as he would be preaching at Mardi Gras for the next week, we decided to call it a day. One young man approached us and asked us sincere questions as we were about to leave. We answered his questions and as we were packing to leave, a gentleman approached us. He asked us what church we attended. He also stated that we were wrong in what we were preaching and said that he was a sinner; that we’re all sinners. We tried to show him in the scriptures verses regarding sin, but he refused to listen and JK said that he could follow us to our car. That was a mistake. He continued to make excuses that he was a sinner and was clinging on 1 John 1:8 as his escape verse. We told him to read the next two chapters and put it all into context. It seemed that all he wanted to do was just argue his false doctrine. This was very grieving to us, not only because this “pastor” wanted to argue his doctrine, and there were some students who watched this incident, but also because so many churches are full of these false doctrines. And as we go out to these campuses, the majority of the opposition comes from Christians who are not obedient to the scriptures, as they are mostly taught by pastors who do not know the scriptures. There are so many verses in the Bible that show that Christians are saints, not sinners, such as: 1 Cor1:2, 2 Cor1:1, Eph 1:1, Phil 1:1, Col 1:2 and many more verses. Jesus Christ came to destroy the works of the devil; to break the power and bondage and penalty of sin. What good news indeed! Our USF employee friend was there once again for support. We are very encouraged by him as he is standing strong with the Lord. He also gave us a brief testimony of how he has been standing strong in the Lord since his repenting, and is now teaching a discipleship class in his church, encouraging young people to live obedient to the Lord! Praise God!
Your Fellow Servant in Christ,
Evangelista

2008 Preaching Reports – Week 3 - Florida State University
Monday, January 21, 2008
Martin Luther King Jr. Day - No classes today.
Tuesday, January 22, 2008
We arrived at Florida State University today at noon. After finding parking, we made our way to the free speech area. I began preaching at 12:30, and within 30 minutes I was able to gather a fairly large crowd. I defended the Bible against atheism, evolution, and secular humanism. I also preached that “God…now commandeth all men everywhere to repent” (Acts 17:30).
It began to rain around 2:00 pm, and Evangelista quickly took shelter just outside of the library. I continued to preach in the downpour with students still listening attentively and asking questions. There were the usual professing christians who defended sin as well. I kept asking them to give me one scriptural reference to back-up what they vehemently defended, yet not one of them could give a single scriptural reference. As I continued to reason with them, it began to rain even harder, so I decided to take shelter with Evangelista at the library entrance.
A few students followed along and wanted to continue conversing with me. A young lady approached us and said that we were not loving enough, and that we were doing it all wrong. I patiently responded to her, but she simply could not understand true biblical preaching. As far as she was concerned, we were unraveling all of her hard work, and now she would have to explain to these innocent little students how we were “wrong” in calling sin sin, and for warning them of hellfire and judgment to come. Honestly, it’s like talking to a stone wall sometimes. I am considering that maybe God has sent the strong delusion Paul prophesied of in II Thessalonians 2:11.
As we talked with this professing christian, another young lady waited patiently to speak with me. She eventually gave up and trotted off in the light rain, but not without getting my attention. I quickly excused myself and ran after her. She asked which denomination we claimed, and which church we attended. I explained that we represented Jesus Christ, and simply believed the Bible. She was very young, and wanted to plug into a local church, and she seemed encouraged by the preaching. I explained our ministry to her and did recommend a local church for her to seek out biblical fellowship.
Another young lady who stood in the rain listening, and who seemed offended at first, came back to us and said that the Holy Spirit spoke to her, and to tell us “don’t stop preaching.” She continued to say that if the students did not want to listen to us, then it was their business, and that we should continue to do what the Lord has called us to do. She seemed very encouraged. An older gentleman also approached us and thanked us for coming to the campus. He said that what we were doing reminded him of when he was a young boy, listening to his dad preach on the streets in Miami, FL. He was also very encouraged.
The rain eventually stopped, and we made our way back to the free speech area. Evangelista began to preach, and was able to gather a modest crowd. As she preached on hell fire, among other biblical topics, the students became very agitated, and demanded that I stop filming. Evangelista then handed the crowd over to me, and as I preached, a muscular student kept shouting and asking why God allowed all of the suffering to go on in the world. He was very vile and foul-mouthed, and I told him he had better repent. He threatened to beat me up, but I simply ignored him and continued preaching. Also, while Evangelista preached, a girl approached me and said that her spirit bore witness that what we were doing was God’s will
It eventually started raining again, so we decided to call it a day around 4:00 pm.
Wednesday, January 23, 2008
We arrived at FSU today at 11:00 am, and spent about an hour searching for parking. This is one of my favorite campuses to preach, but parking is an entirely different matter. We finally found a spot, quickly made our way to the free speech area and began preaching around 12:00 noon. I was able to gather a very large crowd rather quickly.
Students asked lots of questions, and there were many hecklers. One particular student said that we were preaching a false message because we did not smile and say that God is love (which I did mention earlier). He soon came back, only this time hopping around and dancing like a fairy, screaming at us (and he was not smiling either) and foaming at the mouth. He kept raising his arms upwards, screaming and jumping around as if doing some sort of ballet dance. He eventually left screaming, spinning, and in my opinion, just plain freaking-out. There was definitely something wrong with that young man. There was also one lady who kept yelling that Jesus ate little babies. She would actually mimic and reword my preaching, twisting it until it finally ended with the same convoluted theme. Yes, folks, this is the type of mentality we deal with on America’s college campuses every week.
I continued to reason with the students about repentance, faith in Christ, living obedient to God, and victory over sin. I focused for an extended time on the “sin free” topic, as many professing christians said that they were just sinners, and that there was nothing they could do about it.
One girl in particular yelled out that she was a sinner, but she loved Jesus. After I patiently reasoned with her and showed her in the Word of God how Jesus Christ delivers from sin, she seemed very convicted and stayed there the entire afternoon, soaking in all of the preaching. Later she asked me when we would be visiting FSU again. She seemed very encouraged.
There were a number of students there these past two days whom we recognized from last year. One in particular, a polite, Jewish student, stood there for hours each day just listening to the preaching. Evangelista mentioned that he seemed very sincere, and wanted to learn more about Christ.
After I finished preaching, a group of students surrounded me and began to ask questions, while the rest of the crowd dispersed. I then called for Evangelista to preach, and she eventually had a small crowd gather. She preached on repentance, faith in Christ, forgiveness, and why we preach the way we do.
One Christian girl approached me as Evangelista preached and told me that she understood what we were saying and was in complete agreement. She said that she was disgusted with the “happy church” mentality in most of today’s churches. She also said that the previous week, her pastor spoke on the ministry of John the Baptist and that our preaching reminded her of that. I spoke with her for about 20 minutes, and felt refreshed by her purity of heart and desire to obey the Lord.
Evangelista also had a sincere Christian young man approach her while she was preaching and was in total agreement with us as well, and said that we were preaching the truth of God’s Word. He, too, stated that a lot of churches are just not feeding people the Word. In fact, he stated that the Lord was dealing with him about open air preaching. She was very encouraged to see a young man who understood true repentance, living holy and obedient, and the biblical concept that Christians can live free from sin in Christ.
We also distributed bibles to the students who were interested. It was definitely a great day of preaching.
We left around 3:00 pm, and promised to return later in the semester.
Thursday, January 24, 2008
We left Tallahassee today and drove to Tampa to preach at the Gasparilla Parade on Saturday.
Friday, January 25, 2008
Today was a day of rest and preparation for the upcoming weekend event.
Saturday, January 26, 2008
There were around 30 team members scheduled to preach the Gasparilla Invasion and Parade event. Some drove in from Panama City and from Tallahassee, and we all met at the host preacher’s home and departed at 10:00 am. We drove in three separate vehicles and made our way to Tampa Bay where the event was being held.
It was estimated that there would be approximately 500,000 people attending this wicked event. When we all unloaded and arrived at our spot, I began to walk the street and preach with bible in hand, while Evangelista filmed. There were hundreds of people everywhere with some form of alcoholic drink in their hand. But I had my trusty little red preaching Bible.
I preached repentance, faith in Christ, and warned the drunkards that they would not, under any circumstances, inherit the Kingdom of God. Most of them opposed, threw beer, and cursed and mocked God. Others claimed to be christians, with beer and cigarette in hand. Some were convicted at the message and became violent by throwing beer bottles, drinks, ice, footballs, anything to shut down the preaching. We had grandmothers who were drunk and became so angry with the message that they actually wanted to fight me. There were women exposing themselves, lesbians groping one another on the street, and constantly getting in our faces to try to distract the preaching.
At one point, Evangelista and I decided to take a bathroom break. While waiting in line, I lifted up my voice and began to preach. There were some police officers nearby and they moved closer just in case something happened. The people in line made comments here and there. One gentleman approached Evangelista with a beer in one hand and a cigarette in the other, said that he was a Southern Baptist, and that he knew that what he was doing was wrong, but he just couldn’t help it. She told him to repent and that God would give him the grace to stop getting drunk, and to stop doing things he should not be doing. He kind of just shrugged his shoulders and stood back in line. Not interested, I guess.
Another gentleman we conversed with said that he was a christian, with a beer in one hand and a cigarette in the other (this seemed to be the look of the day), and he said that there was nothing wrong with having a beer or two. I admonished him to turn to Jesus and turn from his sins. We found this same gentleman drunk and trying to attack the team later on. He obviously didn’t stick to just having one or two beers.
There were a handful of people who we reasoned with, and even though some were drunk, they seemed to understand our admonishment for them to turn to God. It was also encouraging to see the team members defending one another from angry hecklers. At one point, a chair flew towards us and hit a couple of the team members. I guess they ran out of things to throw.
Throughout the course of the day, most preachers took turns preaching on the bullhorn, while others were in different spots preaching. Two of the team members also had a huge customized banner that spanned 10 feet, and they walked up and down the route preaching, displaying the skull and crossbones with the scripture “for the wages of sin is death.” The other side said in bold blood red letters: TRUST JESUS!
We finally left the area around 6:00 pm and made our way back to the host preacher’s house for food and fellowship. This preach was definitely a huge success.
PLEASE PRAY FOR US DAILY AS WE PREACH DAILY ON COLLEGE CAMPUSES ACROSS THE COUNTRY!

How do you find where the freedom of speach area is if there is one? If one needs permission to preach on a campus who does one talk to to get permission? Can one use amplification like the Fender p -10? Is there any one who does Campus preaching in Knoxville Tennesse? I thank God for you all! You can always call the campus ahead of time as well. In the case of UT Knoxville, I have preached there, and there was no permit process as of last semester. I called the Dean of Students office, and they directed me to the free speech area. It is directly in front of the Hodges Library, parallel with Andy Holt Ave. There is a huge campus seal on the sidewalk that you cannot miss. Please keep us posted as to your preaching, so that we can pray for you. JK Most campuses do not allow amplification without a permit.

2008 Preaching Reports – Week 2 University of North Florida Monday, January 14, 2008We arrived at the University of North Florida around 12:30pm, but not without first hitting a few speed bumps. It seemed like the devil was trying real hard to discourage us from preaching today. First, we were running out of fuel while trying to find diesel fuel for the truck. Then we missed our exit to the campus along the freeway. Then there was construction on the freeway and we were unable to decipher the confusing detour signage. Eventually I recognized a road, and we were able to park and catch the campus shuttle to the main campus area. We finally arrived on the free speech lawn, and I began to preach, drawing in a modest sized crowd right away. I must mention that there were fraternity recruitment tents set up throughout free speech lawn, and there was loud music playing. I preached repentance, faith in Jesus, and living biblically obedient, and also defended the bible against evolution and other false teachings for about 1 hour and 40 minutes. Evangelista then preached for about 20 minutes, and as the crowd quickly dwindled, she turned it back over to me. A young lady approached me while Evangelista was preaching and stated that she appreciated us coming to her campus. She said that she was taking notes on all of the scriptures we quoted, and that she also recorded the students’ reactions to the preaching. She said that she was simply amazed, and couldn’t believe how the students were reacting, even though everything that we preached was biblical. She was obviously a Christian. Another young man at first seemed to oppose us, but after having a short conversation with him, he was very appreciative of our preaching. I patiently showed him from the scriptures that what we were doing was indeed biblical. As we packed up to leave, there was an older gentleman and his wife who listened to us, and he thanked us for preaching. He was very encouraging and commented on how he had watched the reactions of some of the listeners, and noted the conviction of one particular young man who reasoned with me about science and the bible. His wife had left before we finished preaching, but he mentioned that she was a science professor at the university. She had commented on our knowledge of science and how that was a plus in dealing with these students. He said he was a Law Enforcement Officer, and as we exchanged our contact information, we asked him to please pray for us. Also during the preaching, there was an older woman who openly affirmed our preaching, and stated out loud that the kids needed to listen up. This did help us out a bit, as there was a female heckler who said that we needed to stop judging everyone. She kept saying it over and over again, so the older lady took the young girl aside and began to talk with her. That calmed the young lady a bit, but she eventually returned, repeating the same thing over and over again. As the sun was going down, it began to get much colder than it was earlier in the afternoon. We left UNF at about 4:00pm and took the shuttle back to our truck. We then made the 30 minute drive back to the RV park in North Jacksonville. Tuesday, January 15, 2008We arrived on campus and began preaching at 11:30am today. I preached for an hour or so, but it seemed difficult to build up a crowd. Because the free speech area is a large, grassy area, there were still many students there listening to the preaching, as they would occasionally shout obnoxious comments towards us. As Evangelista preached, she was able to gather and maintain the attention of a small crowd. She preached mainly on the sin of homosexuality, among other biblical topics, for about an hour, and then handed the crowd back over to me. The cold prevailed once again, as the crowd seemed to dwindle away rapidly. The campus police showed up around 2:00pm stating that they had received complaints that the preaching was too loud, and that classes were being disrupted. They asked us to move, and we complied. A small group of hecklers followed us across the green to our new spot. But before we moved, a Christian girl approached us and asked us if we needed help carrying our personal items. We told her that we had it covered, and thanked her for her offer to help. She said that she had been listening to the preaching and was in agreement with everything we said. She also mentioned how she witnesses in her own personal way. When we moved, a girl approached Evangelista and asked a few questions about being born again. She was able to share Jesus with her, give her a bible and a bible tract and told her that we would pray for her. Now she has to make the decision whether she wants Jesus to be the Lord of her life. A young man who also moved to the new spot with us overheard the end of Evangelista’s conversation, and asked if we could pray for him as well. Besides preaching, we also hand out free bibles to those who are sincerely interested. A greater gift can no man give except his own life. Throughout the day, students would come up and mention how our preaching has been the main topic of conversation and teaching in their communications classes, and that we were actually part of their homework assignments. This would explain the young lady taking notes yesterday. We left at 3:00pm, as it seemed the temperature was dropping rapidly again. We decided to stop at the library to use the internet access and warm up a bit. Before we left our RV for the campus today, we were able to secure parking at one of the local churches. A quick glance at Google maps would provide me a route to the church, and I could then survey the parking lot for a place to park the RV tomorrow morning. Wednesday, January 16, 2008We arrived at the local church this morning a bit later than we had originally planned, due to inclement weather. As the rain continued, it became clear that we would have to wait until tomorrow to preach on campus again. Thursday, January 17, 2008We arrived on campus at 11:30am and I immediately began to preach. A young man who is active in evangelism on this campus was there waiting for us today. He is very sincere, and actually is planning on doing open-air preaching on campus with his friend in the near future. This is always very encouraging for us. Meanwhile, there were a handful of listeners off and on, and after about an hour I turned the crowd over to Evangelista. As she taught and preached the bible, a large crowd began to form. Evangelista preached on the sin of fornication, biblical repentance, and faith in Jesus Christ. Our young friend bid us farewell, and Evangelista seemed to have the best crowd of the week. Suddenly, a very irate young man approached her, got right in her face and began to scream “what are you doing, woman?!” He said that he was a Christian and part of a campus ministry, and what we were doing was totally wrong. As he continued to yell and scream with bible in hand, another young student joined in. I am amazed at how angry and raging these young people become, misquoting scriptures with red-faced fury. These two could not have been older than 18 or 19. After a few minutes I had heard enough, so I stepped in and told Evangelista that I needed to take over. I suggested that she take the young man aside and attempt to reason with him. As I began to rebuke the false converts for defending sin (we figured out that it was indeed a group of students from a “campus ministry”), they all formed a crowd just down the sidewalk and began consoling one another in their attempts to shut us down. I demanded that they give me just one verse from the Bible that says Christians have to sin, or that would even refute that Christians are freed from the bondage of sin. Not one of them answered my challenge, but they had plenty to say about us condemning everyone, mentioning hell fire, confronting sin, etc, etc. This is fruit of the false teachings so prevalent in most of today’s churches. As for the irate young man, he refused to receive instruction, even though Evangelista shared I Corinthians 1 with him concerning the foolishness of preaching. He said that what we were preaching were “hellfire messages like the preachers of the old days.” As Evangelista attempted to show him Mark 9:43-48, he told her that “you shouldn’t preach like that!” and “I hear all the rumors going around campus about you preachers!” Very interesting. He will listen to all the rumors on campus, but will not listen to Bible truth. He wouldn’t listen to me either. So, as I continued to reprove the sin defending campus group, a girl approached him and said that they needed to leave. Another young man came from behind me and tried to grab my camera and slammed the viewer shut, turning it off. The irate student came back a few times, and stood there listening while I continued to preach. I was able to at least calm him down a bit, while another student was actually in agreement with most of my points. He also tried to reason with the campus group, and eventually they all left in frustration. Some time later, the affirming student returned with his entire class to listen for a short time. Towards the end of the day, a young man approached Evangelista and said that he really enjoyed the preaching. This is always encouraging, especially after the “campus christians” gave us such a hard time. She preached a second time for about 40 minutes, and had a great discussion with a young man who said that he was a Christian, but was still in bondage to cigarettes, among other vices. He seemed to have a lot of good questions, but he was unwilling to change. We left at 4:30pm, and as we walked to catch the shuttle, we discussed the huge variety of reactions we get from this preaching ministry. Our intent was to return tomorrow, but we had promised to vacate our spot at the church by Friday. Friday, January 18, 2008We spent this day traveling from Jacksonville to Tallahassee, and securing a spot to park at another local church. Next week, the Lord willing, we will preach at Florida State University. PLEASE PRAY FOR US EACH DAY AS WE PREACH ON CAMPUSES THIS SEMESTER.
WE ARE MAKING AN IMPACT ON THIS GENERATION!

Monday, January 7th, 2008
Today was the first day of classes this semester at FAU. We arrived around 11:00am, and I immediately hoisted my banner and lifted up my voice, preaching the cross of Christ. It seemed a bit difficult to gather a crowd, but I eventually had a small group of listeners. It has occurred to me lately that most of the kids want to be entertained, but the Holy Ghost has made it clear to us to simply “preach the gospel.”
Evangelista then took over for about 30 minutes, and the crowd eventually dwindled. As I began to preach again, things seemed to get stirred up a bit. I was able to gather a medium-sized crowd with students asking more questions. Some were sincere, and others were obviously not. I was also able to talk with a student friend of ours that we have talked with occasionally for about a year, as we sort of have an ongoing debate concerning the age of the earth, among other things.
After a lively exchange with a young man, someone actually called the campus police. A few officers showed up, but they stayed for only a few minutes. One Christian girl couldn’t believe how bold we were and was simply amazed. She was greatly encouraged. Another Christian girl also approached Evangelista, saying how encouraged she was, and that we had stirred her faith. I guess we were kind of a breath of fresh air for them.
As we left, an older gentleman followed us to our truck. He seemed concerned about his backslidden state, as he was very convicted by the preaching. He shared a short testimony of his current situation, and I confronted him about living in sin. He admitted to being involved with internet porn and masturbation. I exhorted him to make the choice to immediately stop, and to rely on Christ to live free from this bondage. We prayed for him, and as he expressed his gratitude, we left for our trailer at about 5:00pm.
Tuesday, January 8th, 2008
We arrived at FAU around 11:00 am today. As I began to preach, a small crowd gathered, and I held the attention of the students for quite some time. I preached on various topics including sin, holiness, and the age of the earth, among others, for about an hour. Evangelista then began to preach and answer questions. The students pretty much stayed there and just listened to the word go forth. After about 45 minutes she gave the crowd back to me, and eventually it dwindled.
We saw a student we met last semester that was encouraged by the preaching and talked with her. She was glad that we were back preaching again. We also met up with a student/preacher who attends this college. I called on him to preach, and he poured out his heart for about 15 minutes. He did a great job, and I am encouraged to see this young seeking the will of God, as well as doing it. Another young man who is serving the Lord on this campus approached us and introduced himself. He was very polite.
We left at 4:00 pm with the student preacher accompanying us back to our truck. After we said our goodbyes, we drove down to Miami to attend to some personal matters, and then back up to Lake Worth by the end of the evening.
Wednesday, January 9th, 2008
Today the free speech area was booked for another event, so Evangelista and I rented a vehicle for a day and drove over to Tampa to take care of some personal business. We then drove back to our trailer in Lake Worth by dinner time, and then attended the mid-week service at the church where we were lodging.
Traveling in a large truck that runs on diesel fuel can get very expensive. As we are sometimes traveling between towns for 1 or 2 days at a time, it is much more economical to rent a car for $15-$20 a day, and then pay for the cheaper unleaded fuel. We would pay just as much, or more, by driving our truck (minus the trailer, of course, on a day-trip) and so we actually save money and mileage on the truck as well.
Thursday, January 10th, 2008
Because we were a bit tired from all of the extra driving the day before, we didn’t reach the campus until around 12:30 pm today. Evangelista actually began preaching closer to 1:00 pm. After 30 minutes I took over, and had a few interesting discussions. One of the recurring topics is, undoubtedly, sin in the life of a believer. I am amazed at how vehemently people will defend sin, and then actually call you a heretic for proclaiming biblical truth and liberty from sin.
I had some of the same students from the other day, and the young lady from Tuesday afternoon, with her sister, was also there. They had questions about original sin, which I answered biblically. I proclaimed to them the freedom from bondage which Christ died for, providing us all with His power to live free (John 8). I preached for about two hours then handed the crowd back to Evangelista. She preached Jesus, repentance, living biblically obedient, and faith in Him.
As she shared from her heart, I had a chance to discuss some deeper questions with our young friend from Monday again concerning the age of the earth, evolution, and other scientific topics. The interesting thing about this young man is that he is definitely seeking the truth, and is appalled at the lifestyles of his fellow students. Our prayer is that God will speak to him, even as He spoke to me 12 years ago, and changed my heart forever!
As I began to preach again, I had small groups sitting on the benches, and some kids from previous days came back to listen and ask questions. One student in particular was very defiant and seemed determined to prove me wrong. I answered all of his questions, but he refused to acknowledge the Bible as the final authority.
We left the small crowd in the hands of our student/preacher friend, and then drove back to our lodgings at about 5PM.
Friday, January 11th, 2008
Today was a very slow day, as usual, for a Friday. We arrived at about 11:30 and took turns preaching to the small groups of listeners. I had to answer the usual questions: Why are you judging? Are you free from sin? Why am I going to hell? Etc., etc., ad nauseum.
The most productive time of this day was actually sitting down with the young scientist friend of ours and sharing some of my testimony with him. He was very gracious to buy us lunch, and we talked for an hour or so about other various topics as well. We agreed to try and meet on Saturday morning for brunch with him and our student/preacher friend, and then said our goodbyes.
As we left the campus around 4:00 pm, we prayed for the Lord to have His way in the lives of the students, and that their hearts would be convicted of sin, righteousness, and judgment to come. It was a very productive week for the Kingdom of God.
PLEASE PRAY FOR US AS WE PREACH ON CAMPUSES EACH DAY THIS SEMESTER. WE ARE MAKING AN IMPACT ON THIS GENERATION!

This is a very brief update from the front lines of the campuses in Georgia and Florida. Since the beginning of the fall 2007 semester, Evangelista and I have preached at 10 different campuses in 6 different states. The following is a report of our latest ministry:
Kennesaw State University --- 9/26 Evangelista and I were graciously invited to be a part of the annual Southeast Open-Air Preacher’s Conference again this year. During the day, we preached with a group of campus preachers at this very liberal and intolerant campus. Our presence there was certainly NOT welcomed! The crowds were screaming almost immediately, and lots of homosexuals and their supporters were on hand as well. I also had the privilege of preaching a short message on Wednesday night from John 12 at the conference.
Georgia Tech --- 9/27 Another great opportunity to preach with a group of campus/open-air preachers at yet another exceedingly liberal and sin-tolerant campus. These kids did not want us there, and made excuses for sin all day long. We did have a few very productive one-on-one conversations, and for the most part we preached unhindered with a truth horn for about 4 hours, each preacher taking a turn. As usual, our fiercest opposition came from the “christians” who ferociously defend sin and will not make any attempt to declare Christ’s mandate to “go and sin no more!” (John 5:14 and 8:11)
Florida State University --- 10/2 through 10/4 Our first official preach (alone) as a fulltime team, Evangelista and I had absolutely no problem getting the attention and drawing very large crowds each day. We had upwards of 150 the first day, and as usual, the kids defend their right to sin and live in revelry. Each day was spent preaching from large portions of scripture on a variety of topics such as repentance, faith, holiness, moral law, the love of God, the fear of the Lord, and many others.
We also answered sincere questions, while avoiding the foolish and unlearned ones. The 3rd day we were moved to an alternate location and had very large crowds of up to 200. The last hour or so we were drowned out by a couple of musicians with instruments in hand, so I pulled a smaller crowd off to the side and answered more questions. It was a very effective 3 days. Also, one of the officers informed us that we were the first preachers there this semester.
We also had a chance to minister to and pray with a couple of the students who enquired of us. This is significant in that we are usually seen as cultish or proud, but these students were very sincere and wanted help. Obviously, the ministries that they are involved with don’t seem to be helping them live biblically victorious over sin.
University of South Florida --- 10/8 through 10/12 Evangelista and I were very happy to be able to preach on this campus. Our good friend Bro. Larry K. was very gracious to allow us to park our RV at his home. This is one less thing to be concerned about, as we are sometimes faced with parking and moving and the costs can really add up.
A full week on this campus really refreshed us. This campus allows us to come and preach without interruption, and it went very well. We have a great testimony of a young man being much convicted on Monday, and repenting of cigarette smoking in front of the whole crowd as a testimony to his faith in Christ. As the week progressed, and the students refused to heed the Word of God, and the crowds raged and seethed with anger, we noticed this young man showing up each day with Bible in hand and nodding in approval as we preached. I approached Bradley mid-week and asked him how it was going, and he was so grateful for us coming to preach. He then testified as to how he was sure that we were going about our ministry entirely wrong at first, but as he listened and looked up the scriptures that we preached, he in his own words said “I got it, man! I realized why you guys preach the way you do!”
Another young female student was ecstatic about us coming and preaching to the students. And yet another young man was very glad to see us preaching, as he was a transfer student from Missouri, and actually knows Bro. Jed Smock, a pioneer of the campus preaching circuit. We also were interviewed by a graduate student who is writing a dissertation on confrontational evangelism.
Nevertheless, we were forced to leave the students with a stern rebuke on Friday, and they cheered as we left. We promised to return the week of 10/30-11/1.
University of Central Florida --- 10/17 and 10/18 Evangelista and I drove the 2 hours over to Orlando to preach this campus on Wednesday, and we immediately drew a crowd of 50-65 students. After about an hour or so, a group of sincere students had a lecture on the existence of God in this particular free speech area, so we stopped preaching for the 2 hours or so and listened in and chatted with some of the Christians on this campus. I say Christians because these kids are serious about repentance and living obedient to Christ. We were very happy to see this group of kids trying to reach their peers.
Thursday turned out to be a perfect day to preach, as Evangelista and I had moderate sized crowds of 50-100 throughout the day. They posed the typical questions about judging, original sin, and the unconditional love of God, etc. We have resolved to answer only sincere and biblical questions, as the foolish and unlearned ones only lead to strife and quarreling (II Timothy 2:23). We stayed about 5 ½ hours preaching, teaching, and answering the questions of the students, and then headed back to Tampa.
PLEASE PRAY FOR OUR OUTREACHES EACH WEEKDAY ON COLLEGE CAMPUSES EVERYWHERE!
Lovingly serving Christ, JK and Evangelista

Yes, Amen! They are probably clamping down because of convicted students phoning in complaints.
Also, they seemed pretty strict about sharing the pit between groups, so we were moved about 50 yards towards the student center in the open thoroughfare.
I appreciate your boldness, brother. The wife and I would love to meet you the next time we are in NC.

This is a very brief update from the front lines of the campuses in Kentucky, Tennessee, North Carolina and South Carolina.
Since the beginning of this semester (8/22/07), Evangelista and I have preached at five different campuses in four different states. The following is a brief synopsis of our ministry with the Soul-Winners team:
University of Kentucky --- 8/22 through 8/24 3 days of preaching against the false doctrine of antinomianism, once-saved always-saved, and original sin. Our preaching drew moderate crowds each of the first 2 days, with lighter traffic on Friday. With much support from local ministries and a strong campus presence of Christians who agree with our preaching and doctrine, this was indeed a great place to begin our journey.
Morehead State University --- 8/28 through 8/30 After being denied access to the campus of Eastern Kentucky University because of their unlawful permit processes on 8/27, we decided to make the 1.5 hour drive to Morehead the rest of the week. This turned out to be the Lord's doing, as this is one of the most sodomite-friendly campuses in the country. We immediately had huge crowds of +200 the first day, raging against the preaching and demanding we be removed. A young man seemed moved by Evangelista's preaching, but after counting the cost of following Christ, and realizing he still loved his sin, he refused to repent under the conviction of the Holy Spirit. The local paper had a conservative article about us, and the crowds continued for the next two days, culminating in the final day of raging for the heathen. We preached unfazed by the crowds, and this campus is in need of heavy intercession and strong bible preaching.
University of Tennessee-Knoxville --- 9/4 through 9/6 A very large campus, and the free speech area is in a great place with lots of foot traffic. We had some issues with campus police at first, but after a phone call to the Student Affairs Office, we were able to preach the rest of the week with minimal interruption. Crowds were again fairly large, but the sun was very hot this week. Most of the preaching was again focused on false teachings in the "church" and the students hated our banner condemning homosexuality. A few students were very encouraged by our boldness and stance against sin, but most raged in the same way; Judge not! We're all sinners! God loves everybody! etc, etc, ad-nauseum......Again, this campus needs more preaching and intercession.
University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill --- 9/10 through 9/14 This is a very popular campus, with lots of preachers visiting regularly. We found the students a bit more civil overall, although the Police did shut us down the first day. After a huge write up in the daily campus paper, we were pretty much able to preach unhindered the rest of the week, alternating between two different spots in the free speech area. It is interesting that even though a lot of preachers visit this campus on a regular basis, it is still chock-full of the same type of wicked perverts that pervade most campuses across America. We did have some positive response to our preaching, and we met a young man from Africa that seemed excited that we were there. The wife of the preaching team we are traveling with simply torched the students on the last day we were there. It was very powerful.
North Carolina State University --- 9/15 Evangelista and I supported the preaching today with intercessory prayer and holding banners/filming. The unlawful permit process requires advance notice with all types of restrictions on time, number of speakers, etc. I witnessed a very powerful presentation of the Gospel to a stubborn and proud sodomite, who refused to lay down his sin. We pray that there were some in the crowd who heard and repented.
University of South Carolina --- 9/17 through 9/21 By far, this is the most wicked campus we have preached at to date. Sodomites and lesbians galore, and lots and lots of sympathetic sodomite supporters as well. And most claim to be Christians, at that! A local Pro-Life group sponsored us this week, and obtained permits for the free speech area from Tuesday to Friday. Monday was sidewalk preaching day, and actually went very well. We were able to stir up the students almost immediately, as the biggest sodomite in the city actually walked right up to us as soon as we unloaded the RV to head to our spot to preach. All week, these students ranted and raved “get off of my BLEEPing campus, preach love-not hate, homo-sex is love-not sin,” etc, etc…We are very thankful for the few who supported us as the week progressed, and also we do not take for granted the times of intercession before, during, and after the preaching. Also, a muslim student named Ali approached me at the end of the day on Friday and told me that he supported us, and stood against the homosexual opposition. I was able to briefly witness to him about Christ being the perfect, sinless sacrifice for sin. A very strong demonic stronghold is over this campus. Please pray for the students here, as they are exceedingly wicked and sinners before the Lord. As a bonus, we were pleased to find out that a very dear friend of ours lives close to the campus, and he was able to come out and preach with us the last three days.
PLEASE PRAY FOR OUR OUTREACHES EACH WEEKDAY ON COLLEGE CAMPUSES EVERYWHERE!
Lovingly serving Christ,
JK and Evangelista

Here is an article in the NCSU Technician describing (one side of) the preaching on Friday 9/14/07. The crowds swelled up to 200 at one point. I witnessed one of the most powerful presentations of the gospel I have ever seen (Rob Stapleton-below).This campus needs to be preached regularly, but permit "hoops" are an obvious discouragement. Here is the entire article with photos:media.www.technicianonline.com/media/storage/paper848/news/2007/09/17/News/Preacher.Spices.Up.Brickyard-2971131.shtml---------------------------------------------------------------- Preacher spices up BrickyardMichael Venyah, a traveling preacher, came to campus Friday, and his group was especially vocal against homosexuality A new Brickyard preacher's words rang in the cool air midday Friday in something of an organized chaos of discussion. He assured audience members, "I'll get to your question" as he called on students with challenges of his aggressive style. Students gathered around. At least 10 members of Campus Police were present as Michael Venyah brought a message condemning homosexuals, smokers, masturbators and others. In the midst of it all, Rob Stapleton, a graduate student in math, was trying to get Venyah's attention and finally succeeded in doing so. "You seem a little flustered," Venyah said to Stapleton. "You're not a homo, are you?" Stapleton said he isn't homosexual, but that he is bisexual. From that moment, Venyah spent more time than he spent speaking with any other student, trying to convince Stapleton he needed forgiveness for his bisexuality. But after a long, impassioned speech by Venyah, Stapleton yelled back in opposition to the preacher's message. "By my free will, I will never deny the purity of the love I have for the man I have chosen to be my husband. Never," Stapleton said. "Never will I deny that. Never will I admonish that. Never will I surrender." Venyah suggested Stapleton didn't really love the man he said he loves, drawing strong response from the graduate student. "He does maintain my levity of spirit," Stapleton said. "He does keep my heart light and allows me to live everyday with a smile on my face." But Venyah said the happiness brought by actions don't ensure their moral quality. "Killers kill with a smile on their face," Venyah said. "Having any type of self-deprecation does not ensure the rightness of an act." Such was the atmosphere as students made their best efforts to confront Venyah for his stern message, especially against homosexuality. One of the men working with him held up a sign reading, "Homo sex is a threat to national security." While his stance on homosexuality drew the strongest response, he also was critical of the way some of the women in the crowd were dressed, among other things. He even called Nina Strickland, a junior in political science, an "unchaste woman" because of the shirt she was wearing, which led her to call attention to the fact that she was married. Strickland later said Venyah's message frustrated her. "I'm a Christian, and it's sad to me when I come out and I see people that are preaching the word of God, and yet there's a lot of people out here who don't know a lot about God" Strickland said. "His preaching just deters them away from Christianity, and it bothers me." Bethany Longley, a freshman in animal science, said she was also put off by what the preacher was saying. "He's telling everyone they're serving Satan because they have skirts on" Longley said. "I just don't think they should be telling people how they should act." Venyah's tactics were especially frustrating to James Miraglia, a freshman in engineering, who was smoking while talking with the preacher. Miraglia tried to point out the Bible verse that states a person without sin should cast the first stone of judgment. "After you stop smoking, I'll place more credence in your Scriptures," Venyah told him. Miraglia's response embodied the frustration felt by some of the audience members. "If you stop yelling and stop banning people, maybe people will listen to you and take you seriously" Miraglia said. "Stop condemning people, and show compassion and love." While some may have chosen to take on the newest Brick-trolling preacher in a battle of words, Jay Bettis, a junior in chemistry, said many of the students were probably just there for entertainment between classes. "I think everyone else is out here for the show because he's not going to change anybody's mind" Bettis said. "You don't change anyone's mind like this. You can't call someone a sinner and then expect for them to be responsive to the message you're giving them. The first thing you're going to do is close off and be like 'You labeled me as something, and you don't even know me.'"

Here is the original article. I might also add that we spent the next 3 days preaching in the pit without interruption to huge crowds. Most were under heavy conviction, and the preaching was very powerful.
Again, this is all because some sodomites were very angry that we were there with our banners, and they lied to the campus police.
This campus is ripe for a move of the Holy Spirit. I met some young men from a local Bible college who were witnessing at a Raleigh mall on Friday night (9/14) and I encouraged them to go out and start preaching at UNC.
ARTICLE
CORRECTION: Due to an editing error, Tuesday's front-page story "Evangelists escorted off campus" incorrectly identified the day evangelists with Soulwinners Ministries International were told to leave campus. The group was told to leave Monday afternoon. The Daily Tar Heel apologizes for the error.
A group of evangelists was forced to leave campus Thursday afternoon when University police determined that the group posed a threat to campus safety.
Michael Venyah, founder of Soulwinners Ministries International, said he and others from the organization were told to leave campus or they would be arrested for trespassing.
Venyah and the others had set up signs next to the Student Union and Lenoir Dining Hall and began to preach against homosexuality, masturbation and premarital sex.
The group held signs with provocative messages, such as "Homo sex is a threat to national security" and "Satan says that God loves everyone."
"At some point the conversation became more heated between students and the group," said Randy Young, spokesman for the Department of Public Safety.
"It was decided that it was better for the safety for all involved that these folks relocate," Young said. "They were asked to relocate for the protection of them and the students."
Junior Amanda Barbee, who saw the signs and listened to the preaching for a few minutes, said she's glad they left but doesn't necessarily agree with the decision to remove them.
"We hear a lot of offensive stuff, but it depends what you consider offensive," Barbee said. "Some people might find it offensive, and there are probably some people who would agree and not find it offensive at all."
Venyah said he didn't understand why he was asked to leave.
"They said they couldn't guarantee our security, but there was no threat to security," Venyah said. "We were just preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ. Some people will oppose; some will agree."
As the group began to walk off campus, Venyah prayed aloud for the University to be open to free speech.
"Our officers, on a case-by-case basis, will look to protect free speech up until the point the University's operations are compromised or individuals' safety comes into question," Young said.
Last spring, Gary Birdsong, known as the Pit Preacher, was issued a trespass warning for refusing to vacate the Pit when a student organization had reserved it. Because he refused to move, Birdsong was banned from the Pit for two years.
To guarantee a spot in the Pit, a group or speaker must have a permit.
Venyah also began preaching in the Pit, but when administrators told him a group had reserved that area until 2 p.m., he moved.
Young said that because Venyah relocated when officers told him to, he and the others from Soulwinners Ministries weren't cited.
"They are welcome to get a permit and come back tomorrow," Young said.
And Venyah said he does plan to return to campus today.
Soulwinners Ministries' presence at UNC is part of its "Save Our Students" initiative, which began last year. The group traveled to 64 campuses in 27 states.
Venyah said that the group aims to dislodge college students' misconceptions about the gospel and that they aren't always met with open arms. "Preaching Jesus and living by Jesus is unfortunately very hard everywhere."

Today (9/11) was an entirely different story - we preached with liberty for 5 hours and no interruptions. The "HOMO-SEX IS A THREAT TO NATIONAL SECURITY" banner was very effective. Evangelista and I (JK) are joining another group of campus preachers throughout the fall semester as the Lord Jesus Christ leads us. The Holy Spirit spoke to us earlier this summer to meet up with these folks before the semester began, and it has been a tremendous blessing working with them.
Wednesday, August 22, 2007
Our first week takes us to the University of Kentucky in Lexington. Today we prayed corporately and then began our journey to the campus, arriving at about 11am. Bro. Isaiah and I dropped off the team and went to find parking, and then preaching to everyone we encountered on the way to the campus (Mark 16:15). We arrived to find Evangelista and the rest of the team in the free speech area, along with about 350 students and faculty. Being opening day, there were many activities going on. I immediately rebuked one of the young ladies distributing ice cream to students (it was close to 100 degrees today) for her immodest dress.
No preaching was taking place as of yet because of the rap music being blared on the speakers, and the crowd was taking advantage of the free food. Bro. Elijah was having productive small conversations until I lifted up my voice above the music and rebuke the “christians” for their immodest dress and worldly dancing. They eventually stopped their dancing, as I believe they were convicted. We all then took turns preaching. Evangelista began to preach and exhorted the students to repent and put faith in Jesus Christ. She preached for a few minutes and gave the preaching over to Bro. Isaiah.
I preached again later on and gathered some more hecklers. One followed me around while I preached and seemed as if he wanted to touch or assault me. He didn’t because Evangelista was capturing it all on film. Even the ones who claimed to be Christians began cursing. It’s pretty sad because the Christians, at first, say that they are Christians, then they would tell us how wrong we are for preaching against sin (yet all the while, we would show them scripture after scripture), then they would begin to curse at us once their sin was exposed, or actually, they seemed to do a good job of exposing their own sin sometimes without us having to pin-point their sin. After I finished preaching, I had some one on one dialogue with a couple of sincere students, which was very fruitful.
In my humble opinion, this was a great start to the semester, as the local ministries in this area are very supportive of the campus preaching. We were able to gather some modest crowds and hold their attention for some time. We decided to pack up at about 4:30 pm, praying on our way back to our lodgings.
Thursday, August 23, 2007
Today we arrived on campus around noon. Again, we all took turns preaching, starting with Sister Deborah. Evangelista then preached for about 30-35 minutes, exhorting the people to repent and turn from all sin. Evangelista preached on 2 Tim. 3:1-5, I Cor. 6:9-10, the 10 Commandments, repentance towards God and faith towards our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
Bro. Isaiah preached next, and then I had my turn. I had a lot of hecklers. One guy who heckled us yesterday flicked his cigarette on me, burning my neck. The police officer stood right there and didn’t do anything, even after I told the officer that I wanted to press charges. Normally I would ignore this, but the day before he had done it numerous times, and this time we caught him on film. There was also another young African-American student that came right in my face to oppose the preaching. I stood my ground and he eventually backed off.
One girl kept saying how she had a relationship with God, but continuously cussed at me. Another student said that one could be a sinner and saint at the same time. Yesterday, a girl actually told me that there were two kinds of people: sinners and saints that sin. What deception! I preached for a while and afterwards I continued to have good conversations with some of the students. I gave the pulpit to Bro. Elijah and he began to preach and teach the word of God very effectively. After about 45 minutes another local campus preacher arrived and began to preach to the small crowd that had formed.
We left around 3:30 pm. Another great day of preaching the gospel!
Friday, August 24, 2007
Today we arrived on campus around 11:00 am. Evangelista began to preach repentance towards God and faith towards our Lord Jesus Christ. She preached for about 30 minutes. Bro. Isaiah and Bro. Elijah both took turns, and then I preached. I didn’t go for very long as my voice was a bit strained from the prior two days of preaching.
There was a young man from one of the campus ministries who approached Evangelista and thanked us for being out there and agreed with everything we said. He stated that those who listened intently were serious, but those who get mad at us are obviously convicted. Evangelista met other students from another campus ministry that also agree with what we were doing. One of them even said that it’s usually the professing christians they always have problems with, not the atheists, etc. I agree that it is usually these who oppose the message, and the reason they do so is because they are in sin and don’t want the real Christians to preach against it.
We left the campus at about 4:00 pm, concluding that we had been very effective this opening week. We were able to get the attention of a lot of the freshmen, and warned all who heard to repent or perish (Luke 13:3, 5).

ROAM-USA / Miami Bible Believers Report for 06/09/07
Today was a picture perfect day to preach on South Beach. Evangelista and I (JK) arrived at approximately 4:30, walked to the coral wall and began to survey the area for an opening to begin our outreach. We decided to start near the Majestic hotel at the coral wall.
I began preaching a very basic gospel message, explaining why Jesus died, why men need to repent, and the various sins prevalent on South Beach. It did not take long before I gained a lot of opposition. The volleyball players wanted me to shut up, the drunkards wanted me to shut up, and the fornicators wanted me to shut up. I must have been doing something right!
I preached for about 40 minutes and had small, sporadic crowds, and a couple of hecklers that helped me get a few more listeners. We had a small family listening intently for about 20 minutes, and as they left, the mother thanked me for doing a great job. I was happy with what we accomplished here, and we decided to move down the wall a couple of blocks.
Evangelista began preaching at the wall near Wet Willie’s and had an instant reaction. Most people cannot believe that a young lady, dressed modestly with Bible in hand, would have the courage to openly preach the gospel in a very hostile environment. I am very thankful for a godly and obedient wife. We are a great preaching tag-team!
Evangelista has a way of articulating her words in a way that gets the people to listen. She had a young drunkard approach her, claiming to be a pastor’s son. She warned him to turn from his sin, and to stop committing sexual sin, which he admitted to. Someone approached us and testified how we were proclaiming the Word of God, and that we were living in a time similar to Noah, with mockers and jeering as we preach righteousness.
Evangelista preached for about 30 minutes, and was very effective. We decided to walk down the wall a little further, checked down by Versace and saw very few people, and moved back down by Wet Willies.
I began to call out to the drunken revelers on South Beach, proclaiming the Bible and the truth that sets men free from sin. Over a short period of time I was able to gather a crowd of about 100 or so, thanks to a very obnoxious girl named Sally. She had a set of lungs that could dwarf Pavarotti! The crowds began to hurl questions at me one after the other, and I answered all of them from the scriptures. It is very interesting that most people are more concerned about BEING offended, than OFFENDING GOD! The Lord is simply not in the thoughts of these people, because if He was, they would fear Him, and they would obey Him. This Q&A session lasted about 40 minutes
We headed out at about 7:30 to the delight of the drunkards. This day was very successful for the kingdom of God. We had very good interaction with the crowds at the end of the day, and we are very grateful for the opportunity to preach here every weekend.

ROAM-USA/Miami Bible Believer’s Report for 5/25/07-5/28/07
Urban Beach Weekend Takes South Beach By Storm! South Beach Bible Preachers Rain On Partygoer’s Parade!
This year’s Urban Beach Weekend was very calm compared to years past. The atmosphere was very different, and I attribute that directly to almost 3 straight years of preaching the gospel on this same stretch of island weekend after weekend. I am hoping that this is the beginning of a great breakthrough, as we know the Lord desires all to be saved. We are His instruments of righteousness to bring truth and light into this deceived and darkened generation. Unfortunately, the sensuality of this year’s event was heightened, and it was a very sad sight to behold day after day.
Day 1 – Friday, 5/25/07
Our team consisted of Evangelista, Doug and I (JK). We arrived on the beach around 6:30PM. The Lord put it on my heart this year to make sure that we preached every day during this event, even if it was for just a couple of hours each day. He is so willing for these people to hear the truth. It was painfully obvious that the crowds did NOT want to hear the truth tonight.
As we arrived in front of the Majestic Hotel, the crowds were thick. It was very windy, lots of noise, and the traffic was heavy on Ocean Drive. Doug commenced the preaching with a stern rebuke to the children of disobedience concerning drunkenness, fornication, and living ungodly. The usual “thou shalt not judge” crowd was on hand, and the women were dressed so immodestly that even Evangelista repeatedly complained about it. Doug continued to preach for about 15-20 minutes, and we moved down to 8th Street and Ocean Drive by Wet Willie’s.
We immediately noticed a very heavy police presence in this area, as people love to congregate at this intersection. I was able to lift up my voice and cry aloud, not sparing any and calling the sinners to repentance. I noticed the police seemed pretty uninterested in us, so we then moved to the coral wall and broke out the truth-horn. I was able to flush out some convicted sinners by the showers, and had large crowds constantly moving by. All in all I preached for about 45 minutes. Before we left, a gentleman approached Evangelista and mentioned that he was visiting from Pennsylvania. He said was a Christian, and that he loved our message. I did notice him listening intently during my segment. We then moved down to the Versace mansion.
Doug likes to preach here because the people always flock to the steps of this mansion where the former owner John Versace was murdered. It is always a great platform, and Doug flushed out a few phony christians with his holy message of repentance and submission to God. I am very proud of this man, as he was ready to go and preach every single day, 4 days in a row, and not a single peep or complaint about anything. Not to mention his wife Vera just had an operation and was recovering in the hospital (We would actually go and pick her up from the hospital later that night).
We then moved back down to 8th Street and Ocean Drive by Wet Willie’s. I decided to give the horn a shot at the intersection, and we had much liberty. I preached a straightforward gospel message to the revelers, and they wanted no part of it. They boohoo-ed and cried about me being judgmental, that we are all sinners, that christians sin every day, let he who is without sin cast the first stone, etc, etc, ad-nauseam. The lukewarm church of today is to blame for all of these young worldly so-called christians. I think a lot of them were in shock when they saw and heard us boldly proclaiming the Bible.
A very effective first night, and 3 more days of revelry lay ahead of us. We called it a night at about 8:30PM and headed to the hospital to pick up Doug’s wife and have some dinner.
Day 2 – Saturday, 5/26/07
Today picked up exactly where we left off on Friday night. Evangelista, Doug and I arrived at about 4:30PM, parked, and then made our way to Ocean and 7th Street across from the Majestic Hotel. It was very crowded and the weather was almost perfect, except for the wind that was gusting up to about 20mph.
Doug started us off again with a fiery message on repentance and judging righteously. If we charged each person a dollar that said “don’t judge” this weekend, I could have bought us all lunch with the proceeds. It only proves the Word of the Lord correct; “Evil men understand not judgment: but they that seek the LORD understand all things” (Proverbs 28:5).
Evangelista followed with a scathing rebuke via our trusty truth-horn. As previously stated, the women on South Beach this weekend were very lewd and immodest. I have seen hookers on Biscayne Blvd. that dress 10 times more modest than these women. Evangelista’s message seemed to fall on deaf ears, as most argued that they were “christians, DON”T JUDGE ME, my daddy is a pastor,” etc. She preached for about 25 minutes, and we decided to move down to our favorite spot by Wet Willie’s.
Doug was approached by a gentleman who stated that his father had passed away, and he was staying with his mother to try and bring some peace and stability to their home. He said he was a brain surgeon, and asked Doug to pray for him. He seemed very sincere, and Doug ministered to him for a while, and we moved on. As we arrived at our spot, the crowds were too thick by the street, so we went to the wall and I began to preach my Hebrews 9:27 message.
After about 30 minutes of preaching, debating with hecklers, and declaring the sin of the South Beach revelers, an officer rushed me and shouted “alright, that’s enough, shut it down, shut it down, no amplification this weekend. If I hear that horn again you are going to jail.” I then calmly explained to this Sgt. that our intent was to exercise our rights as American citizens, and that our agreement with the MBPD was that we would use the horn only when necessary and then at a low volume. We have been very faithful to our promise, but the noise and the crowds this weekend warranted the use of the horn. I mentioned our contact’s name and he seemed to calm down a bit and soon became very reasonable, eventually letting us continue preaching. Praise God!
I found out from another officer that a couple of Code Enforcement officers heard me call somebody “cuckoo in the coconut,” and they went straight to the Sgt. to report me. Yes folks, I almost got arrested for saying “CUCKOO!” I continued to preach for about 15 minutes or so, and then turned it over to Evangelista.
Crowds were in the hundreds, drifting back and forth, forming and listening, debating, etc. We all took a turn preaching again, and I noticed the wind had died down a bit, so I preached from the wall without the horn. A very hardened crowd, to say the least!
We then moved to the Versace mansion and took turns preaching there as well. Again, I must say that this crowd seemed less rowdy, but 10 times as sensually lewd as last year. Women were doing things that I cannot say in this report. It was that ghastly. The last 10 minutes or so were a final plea for the lost souls to repent towards God and put their faith in Jesus Christ.
We headed home at about 8:30PM, got some food and fellowshipped for a while, and then Evangelista and I headed home to get some rest.
Day 3 – Sunday, 5/27/07
Our team nearly tripled in size today, as we brought along three of Doug’s children, and two young ladies from church. I am very grateful for them coming along and seeing first hand exactly what type of lifestyle the hip-hop and gangster-rap music culture propagates. It is truly saddening, as one of the young ladies said at the end of the night.
We arrived at about 5PM and braved the crowds again. With a couple of banners and only one pole, at least we had a chance to fly them here and there, and lots of Bibles would be passed out as well.
I pretty much scorched the crowds for about an hour at the Versace mansion, and I really felt the Lord pleading through me. It was overwhelming at one point, as I proclaimed the Name of the Lord; HOLY, HOLY, HOLY!
The response? Can anyone say crickets chirping? Tumbleweeds rolling down the street? This crowd actually seemed like they were coached to not react to us. It was that bad. I warned them that if they turned a deaf ear to the gospel today, then God would turn a deaf ear to their cries for mercy on judgment day!
I tried to encourage some of the young people to preach, but none seemed bold enough, or maybe they were not prepared. At any rate, we all took turns handing out Bibles and witnessing one-on-one , and I saw some great efforts by these kids to at least get some of the revelers to think about the Bible, and consider reading it.
This day went by rather quickly, and I felt that we needed to get out of there before it got too dark. Doug agreed, and so we headed out to dinner with the whole gang. It was fun to have a larger group, and we sort of stormed the restaurant with our t-shirts. The manager approached me and I started to witness to him, and he quickly admitted to being born-again, and how he would love to have a shirt like mine. Doug volunteered his son Christian to donate his shirt, and the guy was very grateful to receive it.
So, after a long drive home, Evangelista and I discussed some of our options for future ministry (details coming soon), and we decided to get some sleep in preparation for Memorial Day.
Day 4 – Monday, 5/27/07 Memorial Day
This is probably the most radical way to spend Memorial Day. Everyone else is home B-B-Q-ing and visiting family and friends, reminiscing on our heritage and lives sacrificed for freedom. We get to go out and rebuke the sinning amnesiacs. Many look forward to this day like no other, as the other 364 days seem to blur together, and no one remembers the soldiers and their blood and pain, selfishly living day-to-day as if this type of freedom were a birthright or something. No one remembers how many soldiers died in WW1, or what the point of the Battle of Midway was. Sad indeed.
Doug, Evangelista and I arrived as usual, ready to march to the frontlines and proclaim repentance and faith again. The crowds were still pretty thick, and our intent was to avoid last year’s riots (see last year’s Memorial Day report in your e-mailbox).
I purposely intended on being a little mellower in my delivery today. I wanted to give these rebels a chance to see a different side of preaching, so I made it a point to hold back and pretty much got the EXACT SAME REACTIONS over and over again. Don’t judge me, I’m a christian, we’re all sinners, christians sin every day, you are a hypocrite, you are a racist, bigot, wicked, etc., etc., etc., ad nauseam.
We all took turns preaching throughout the afternoon. We had some very productive one-on-one conversations as well today, and I had a very good heckler at one point who soon realized that he met his match in me. Some of the people actually appreciated our efforts this weekend, but most just ignored us.
We ended the night in front of Wet Willies, and I began to preach a very calm and laid back message, when all of a sudden a lady started cussing me out, flashing her rear-end, and giving me a really hard time. I said “so I guess you think you are a Christian too, huh?” She affirmed that she was, to my utter disgust. Now, I would normally just move on and keep preaching, but I was really tired of the so called christians out there, so I let her have it and she cussed me out some more and let her true colors fly.
So sad, that the churches are full of these types of people, saying they are something they are not. Deceived to the core, and the “pastors” are just reaffirming it over and over again every weekend in the pulpits of this free nation.
Freedom. Too much freedom. Just enough to cause amnesia, in my opinion.
God help this nation to turn to God and bring forth fruit worthy of repentance. To bring forth Godly sorrow, which works repentance not to be repented of. I really find it satisfying to know that the ROAM-USA/Miami Bible Believers chapter was faithful this weekend to go out every day and preach the gospel to every creature. And trust me, there were some real creatures out there. All in all, we obeyed God, and that’s what counts.

ROAM-USA/Miami Bible Believer’s Report for 5/19/2007
Joining the team this week were Doug, JK and I (Evangelista). We arrived on South Beach at around 5:00 pm, and made our way down to Ocean Drive.
Doug noticed a few women sitting by the front of the Majestic Hotel and began to witness to them. They were not interested in hearing anything about the Lord. We moved on and set up across the street from the hotel.
I began the preaching, and warned the people that their lifestyle would condemn them on the Day of Judgment and that hell was not a party place, which they obviously thought. I had one gentleman approach me who thought it was all fun and games. He seemed drunk as he approached me to ask a question, which I responded to, and then he moved on. I preached for about 25 minutes.
JK then began to preach and exhort the crowd to repent and put faith in Jesus Christ. One lady who was sitting by the hotel began to flash us and did so a number of times. She also began to gyrate in a very sexual manner and did other things I will not mention. Now, I’ve been preaching on South Beach for approximately 3 years now and I’ve never seen some of the things I saw this lady do. The preaching is meant to expose their sin, and as it does, the people sometimes manifest what is truly in their heart, and unless they can see themselves in their wretchedness and become humble, contrite, and realize that they have broken God’s laws, there usually is not true repentance. Usually the people who get angry with the message are the ones who are convicted by their sin, as the Word of God cuts and penetrate their conscience and hearts. There are usually two types of responses: humility and brokenness over their sin, or anger and acting out. “For the word of God is quick and powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart” (Hebrews 4:12). So God’s word exposes the sin and cuts to the heart and that is why people react the way they do (For reference, see Acts 7:51-54). It would seem that the sin is getting worse and worse; more and more degradation. JK rebuked her for her indecency and rebellion towards God, and continued to preach for about 20 minutes.
We then moved on towards the coral wall by Wet Willies and Doug began to preach. He did a great job preaching. He had one lady heckler who claimed to be a believer yet was fornicating with her boyfriend. She admitted to going to a Christian church yet was at the beach in immodest apparel. She claimed that God forgives her for her sin, no matter what and that we were born sinners. Doug refuted all of her arguments to the point where she became irritated, but Doug continued to press on and give her biblical answers she could not refute. She eventually stopped asking questions. Doug did an awesome job preaching and did so for approximately 20 minutes.
We had one gentleman on his bike approach us thanking us for our preaching and agreeing with everything Doug preached about. We told him that he could follow us to our next preaching spot if he wanted to. Doug spoke to him for a few minutes, encouraged him and prayed for him. Doug told us later on that he was homeless.
We decided to go by the Versace Mansion and JK began to preach. He did a good job preaching and admonishing the people to have faith towards our Lord Jesus Christ and to stop their sin and disobedience against Almighty God. We saw the same lady pass us who was flashing us earlier on walking down the street. She, again, flashed everyone around her. She was again rebuked for her wickedness. JK preached for about 30 minutes.
I then preached and began to warn the people to get right with God and that they were not guaranteed tomorrow. There was a wedding going on at the beach and we noticed the bride coming our way. I made an analogy saying that Christians are considered the Bride of Christ and that one day, we would be going to a wedding, the Marriage Supper of the Lamb. I noticed that JK and a gentleman began to exchange words as the gentleman did not agree with a statement JK made towards the bride passing by. As it began to get heated, I boldly told JK “step out of the way.” As he was a jogger, I told him that he needed to run to Jesus and turn away from sin. He eventually left, cussing us out as he went. I also described hell to the people listening as many people have a false perception of hell. One gentleman approached me and shook my hand, thanking me for preaching. Hence, throughout the entire time we were out there, we had many people give us the “thumps up” and many others thanking us for being there. It was great to see how many people truly appreciated us for being out there and sharing God’s Word. One gentleman approached me with a lady and said that he wanted to get baptized in Jesus Christ. I gathered that he was saying that he wanted to repent. I asked him if he knew what repentance meant. He said to say you’re sorry and to forsake your sin. I began to explain to him the true definition of repentance, which is a change of mind towards God and concurred that it also meant to forsake your sin. I began to explain to him what Jesus Christ did on the cross. I asked him if he believed all of the things I was mentioning to him. He said he believed. I then told him to get on his knees and repent, which he did. JK later on told me that he was not sure whether the gentleman was sincere, as it seemed that he just wanted to get back with his girlfriend. I will leave that to the Lord and pray that he was genuinely repentant. I preached for about 20 minutes
Doug then began to preach Jesus Christ to the onlookers and condemned their lifestyle. He encouraged the people to forsake their sin. He preached for about 15 minutes.
JK wanted to preach by Wet Willies, so we left the Versace Mansion and walked back to Wet Willies. JK began to preach and warn every man about their lifestyle. There were some who made comments as they did not agree that there was anything wrong with getting drunk. JK preached for about 15 minutes.
We left South Beach at approximately 7:30 pm and went to Doug’s house for food and fellowship.

This report was recently filed by my lovely wife Evangelista!
ROAM-USA/Miami Bible Believer's Report for 5/5/2007
JK and I (Evangelista) arrived on South Beach at approximately 4:30 pm, parked our car and made our way towards Ocean Drive.
We went to the coral wall by Wet Willies and noticed a tennis tournament going on with loud music in the background. Seeing that we didn’t bring our bullhorn this day, we would have to find another spot to preach. We continued to move along the coral wall and stopped by the showers.
JK began to preach and within a few minutes, “waterman” showed up and began to yell at JK wanting him to stop preaching. We mentioned “waterman” in our earlier reports. He’s a homeless, drunkard who always opposes the preaching. As soon as waterman spotted JK on top of the wall, he quickly jumped on the wall and began to curse and tell JK to leave and that nobody wanted to listen to the preaching. JK continued to preach until waterman couldn’t resist the preaching, jumped off of the coral wall and left. JK continued to preach to the people listening for approximately 30 minutes.
We then decided to go by the Versace Mansion. I began to preach and was abhorred by the way the women on the beach dress. For some reason, the women today seemed to be more scantily dressed than usual. I mean, they usually are, but today seemed to be more drastic. I rebuked the women for dressing so immodest and causing the men to lust and commit adultery of the heart, which Jesus condemns in Mark 9. There was one woman vendor who opposed the preaching and continued to yell at me, and demanding me to leave. I continued to cry aloud, spared not, and lifted my voice like a trumpet and showed the people their transgressions (Isaiah 58:1). It seemed that the battle was fierce this day and many had hardened hearts. I admonished the people listening to repent and turn to Jesus Christ. I told them that hell was not a party place, but a place of weeping, wailing and gnashing of the teeth. At one point, JK approached her wanting to reason with her, but she was too hostile. As I continued to preach, there were two gentlemen who were listening to the preaching and I quoted Hebrews 13:4 and asked them whether they knew what the word “whoremonger” meant. They said that they are born again and that they knew what it meant and actually gave me the definition. I asked them if they were involved in any of that type of behavior. They said they were not, which I was so thankful to the Lord for. It is very unusual and rare on South Beach to meet Christians who are obeying the Word of God. I contribute the lack of conviction in Christians to the watered-down, ear-tickling gospel messages presented in today’s modern churches. All we seem to come across are cussing, fornicating, and drunken so-called born-again Christians who are being taught to “just accept Jesus into your heart and then you’ll be okay.” Forget the fact that you have to be obedient to His Word. This is called easy-believism. The gentlemen then gave me their blessing, said their goodbyes and left. I thanked them for their encouragement. I preached for about 30 minutes.
JK preached next and the lady heckler/vendor continued to yell at us. JK rebuked her for her rebellion against God and told her she needed to get right with God. She stated that she did not care whether she went to hell or not. How sad indeed. JK continued to warn the people. One gentleman from the anti-Christ church approached us, as he was handing out some sort of advertisements, and began to cuss at us. As JK preached, another gentleman approached and said that he’s been saved for about a year. He had a question concerning judging, which JK then gladly showed him scriptural proof that Christians are supposed to judge (JK 7:24, I Cor 2:15). The gentleman left and JK shook his hand and thanked him for being so civil. JK continued to preach and ran into two African-American men who seemed to be with the anti-Christ guy who were also handing out advertisements (these ads usually show women who are scantily dressed). We have run into these two guys before. JK questioned them regarding their relationship with God. They didn’t seem to take what JK was telling them too seriously. JK preached for about 30 minutes.
We then decided to go back to the coral wall by Wet Willies to see whether the noise had died down. One of the tournaments was over, however, there was still music blaring. JK decided that he wanted to preach there anyway. Seeing there were people sitting on the coral wall, he stepped on the stool and began to preach. He immediately got a few good hecklers, and one lady in particular who began to curse. JK rebuked her and she eventually left with her friends. One gentleman on the wall came to JK yelling that he wanted him to read aloud verses from the Bible. It was obvious that he was drunk. JK responded “that is all I’ve been doing since I arrived.” As JK continued to preach and thanked the people sitting on the wall for listening to him, he handed out Bible tracts to those who were listening.
I then preached across from Wet Willies and exhorted the people to turn to Jesus Christ. I encouraged the young children passing by with their parents to love the Lord and obey their parents. One of the parents of the children was glad I did so, even though it seemed his wife or partner wasn’t. I continued to preach for a few more minutes and we decided it was time to call it a day. While walking towards our car, we ran into a couple of guys, and one of them thanked us for preaching the gospel. He appeared to be drunk as he had a drink in his hand. He said that he was a Christian. We humbly encouraged him that Christians don’t get drunk. He said that he had Jesus in his heart (as I mentioned in a couple of paragraphs above). JK admonished him that if any man loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. We continued to talk with him about obedience to God’s Word for a few minutes, and we left the beach at approximately 7:30 pm.

But just for the record Christians should judge sin but not the sinner. Where in the Bible is that found?

Another great report from the wife.......enjoy!
ROAM USA/Miami Bible Believers Report for 04/28/07
Joining the team this week were Doug, JK and I (Evangelista). We arrived on South Beach at around 4:00 pm and we made our way down to Ocean Drive by the Majestic Hotel. We noticed a crowd there, and Doug was able to talk with some of the men at the hotel.
We then decided to head over to the coral wall, and Doug began to preach. As soon as he began to preach, the hecklers began popping up. He had one Hispanic heckler who began making fun of Christianity. Doug also had a double-barrel heckler consisting of two African-American women. They both began heckling Doug at the same time and wouldn’t let him get a word in edge wise. They continued to yell at him. They claimed to be church-going Christians, even though they were half-naked. At one point, one of them began to cuss him out, which showed her true colors and as she knew that she had been uncovered, they departed. Again, this shows the deception in today’s church. Many we encounter out at the beach say that they’re Christians, but all that comes out of their mouths is profanity. Doug preached for about 20 minutes.
We then made our way by the coral wall by Wet Willies. There, JK began to preach and was able to form a large crowd. He began to warn them that their lifestyle would get them in trouble one day when they stand before God. He had a number of hecklers, some who seemed to want to punch him. He had one who continued to blare his ungodly music and wanting to distract the preaching from going forth. At one point, things started to get heated and Doug went over to JK and asked him to back off a bit. Doug didn’t want another riot-like condition like we had a couple of weeks ago.
I then began to preach and exhorted the crowd to repent and put faith in Jesus Christ. I also mentioned that the things they were doing on South Beach would get them judged before a holy God one day. I had a few hecklers; one in particular, mentioned that that he was a Christian. He was an African-American young man and began to yell and act very hostile towards the preaching. Noticing this, a man stood by me and began to ask this young man why he was giving me a hard time, seeing that all I was trying to do was help him. The young man, at one point, started to get very upset and cussed at me. Hearing this, I called out that he was a phony Christian. I told the audience that a Christian doesn’t cuss.
Doug preached after me for about 15 minutes. Seeing that the evening was winding down, the crowds had diminished somewhat.
Meanwhile, JK had a great conversation with some gentlemen, one specifically that said he was a Christian (with an alcoholic beverage and cigarette in his hand), but yet fornicated with his girlfriend, who wasn’t a Christian. He used every excuse in the book as to why committing fornication is right. He also said that he didn’t have a problem with the content of our message, but just how it was presented.
A majority of people today do not realize that most, if not all, of the Old Testament prophets were open air preachers. John the Baptist was also an open air preacher; the apostles were as well, and the greatest one is Jesus. Most people, even some Christians, have never been exposed to open air preaching, so when they see us out there, they are dumb-founded and think we’re doing it all wrong. They think that we should be evangelizing the way the modern church evangelizes, and that we are not loving enough. The “church” consists of a body of believers, not believers with unbelievers. Sinners are supposed to be won over in the street; the highways and byways, and then they are brought in the midst of a body of believers, what is called the “church.”
I also had a great conversation with the gentleman who defended my preaching earlier on. He was friends with the guys that JK was witnessing to. Even the guy I was conversing with was apparently drunk; I asked him where he stood with God. He said that he was a Catholic, but seemed very sincere in wanting to know more about God. He encouraged me that I needed to continue doing what I was doing because my preaching had an impact on him. As he says in his own words: “my heart was touched today.” He stated that many of the people we minister to want to be macho (it seemed as if he was talking about his friends, the ones JK was talking to), but deep inside their hearts, they know that what we’re saying is true.
Doug wanted to go and preach by the Versace Mansion, which we did. JK began to lift up his voice and to tell the people to repent and turn to Jesus. At one point, an officer approached JK and told him that he needed to tone it down. JK complied and continued preaching. At one point, I noticed someone getting arrested and it was no other than “The Hedonist” who we always run into on Ocean Drive. We felt sorry for him and wondered why he was being arrested, and I thought to myself “if he would only repent and surrender to Jesus, the Lord would change his life.” See, we always run into the same people on the beach, and have ongoing relationships with them, in a sense, because they usually approach us with questions about the Lord. I truly pray that he would indeed give his heart to the One who gave it all for him. JK preached for about 20 minutes.
Doug then preached and began to explain about John Versace and his lifestyle. He told the people that if John Versace came back from the hell, he would warn the people about that place; that they should avoid it at all cost. He preached for about 20 minutes.
We then went by Wet Willies and I preached for a few minutes. A couple of officers approached Doug and he spoke with them. This was one of the officers that approached JK and I last week. One of the officers stated that he was a Christian, but they asked Doug why we bother going out. They stated that the people out there don’t know anything about the Bible. Doug mentioned a few things to them and shook their hands and we left around 8:00 pm for some food and fellowship.
PLEASE PRAY FOR OUR WEEKLY OUTREACH TO SOUTH BEACH!
